Spells in the Dark (18+ For dark and suggestive themes: Join the witches or the hunters and they circle each other in a bleak world on the edge of annhilation. Can they come together long enough to hold back the great dark? Or will they fall to the void?

Stuff I'm in

Wolves of Redlake: A lovely little romp as a teenage werewolf. Run by the lovely @Nallore
Various 1x1's: I love the flexibility of a two person story. Group RPs will always have my heart, but they can be difficult to get off the ground. Feel free to PM me with any ideas you may have. I generally post once per week minimum and like high-casual to advanced as far as quality is concerned.

The Rest!

Hi! I'm a twenty five year old lesbian with alot of time on her hands! I've been role playing for about ten years now, although I'm new to the play by post format. I'm a pathfinder and Chronicles of Darkness veteran and still play with my group most weekends.

I'm generally pretty easy to get along with. My biggest pet peeves are:

Not informing me if you'll be away for an extended period of time. A PM or something in the OOC will do nicely. I understand life kicks all of us once in awhile, but try not to leave me hanging.

Negative people. We all get down, and that's fine. Happiness, however, is an outlook. I don't mind spending time cheering up a friend when they're usually a cheerful person. Optimism is a hell of a thing folks.

Metagaming. For obvious reasons. This has been the downfall of many a fun 'secret' plot. I usually opt for transparency, and like to surprise characters more than players. Metagaming makes that difficult.

Things I'll love you for:

Enthusiasm! This is the driving force behind any RP. When players and the GM are excited magical things can happen.

Adding to the world. I like a fleshed out world. Often times I'll leave things ambiguous so players can add to it with backstory or anything really.

Hatching your own subplot. The 'main' plot isn't the only thing going on right? Write me a story about some characters getting into hijinks. It gives the RP an organic feel that can't really be replicated otherwise.

@agentmanateeI'm just playing along enjoying interacting with some character while I wait for word to come down from on high reguarding how to move from here. Recommendation? Make some posts, have your characters make some friends/enemies/mistakes and we'll all eagerly await news with better established character relationships.
@Aerandir Post something or I'll...I don't know, but it'll be bad!
Lorelai Von'Strauss

Lorelai flashed Hazel one of her rare grins. She knew she had potential, fear was a basic instinct and controll over it had mind-boggling implications. She was determined to ensure Hazel reached the pinnicle of her power. "I'm pleased to hear you accept Hazel, once we'll begin work once you've finish that volume. In the meantime however, I would like to ensure my new apprentice's safety." She retrieved a statue of a frog carved from jade with ruby eyes from her pouch. Alexina and Vespa would recognize this as the vessel she'd bound Rovulug, Lord of Ruin, into after the demon lord had failed her in the battle against Hector. "If you find yourself in dire need break this and remind Rovulug that I nor hell will accept a second failure, also remind him who he fears most."

Lorelai nodded and shared a brief look with Vespa as she voiced a concern that had been on her mind from the moment her love had spotted even small traces of Fenros' passing. Lorelai had no intention of allowing Fenros to...lead Elina astray, no matter her opinion of the girl as a witch, she was a sister. Also Vespa's blood, and she wasn't about to allow harm to come to either of the Ruvinas if she still had breath left in her body. Despite how she was feeling now there was plenty of that breath left.

"I wonder if it is...wise to inform your sister about Fenros being here. Perhaps we could conjure some other excuse to keep her in the castle for the time being? Even if they discover us here they'd have to fight through some of the most powerfull witches I've had the pleasure of knowing, not to mention my sweet making sure their trip here was...eventfull." She squeezed Alexina's had as she let the pride she had in her lover's power show on her faces, then her eyes took on a mischievious twinkle. "Besides, there's more of my blood than mortar in these old walls, and thanks to Medusa's assistance I've managed a feat that would leave my grandmother in awe. Suffice to say that an attack here without anything less than a small army would be suicidal."

Lorelai winced again as small shocks ran up her spine. Binding such an entity had been foolhardy in the extreme, but her will was mighty even if her body was weakened. "Vespa, if you need an excuse to call your sister home I may actually need a curative to embolden my sickly spirit, my bindings are catching up to me of late, and your sister's hands have always been steady at the pestle." She looked to Hazel. "Or perhaps Hazel should go? You do know how stubborn she can get when you display your concern."

@SillyGoy You can always do them separately. Makes things easier when waiting on people.
Alyssa was just starting to enjoy Vivian's closeness when she spotted the ambush, standard tactics it seemed. Use superior numbers to surround travelers and ensure no one escaped. One problem though, they weren't surrounded, they were in a 'target rich enviroment'. Spreading out like this ensured that there was an orc for every blade swung or spell conjured.

"Nothing like a little excitement to clear the tension eh?" She grinned in admiration as the swarm of missles coalesced into being in Vivian's palm.

"I'll stick to fire myself." With a flourish and some words of power several motes of flame appeared circling her wrist. She quickly sent a few of them into the nearest orc, trying to gauge their resilience.
@EWilldenMy weekend was unusually busy, I'll generaly be able to post.
"Thank you Cat. And may we make many profitable memories!"

Alyssa looked over he shoulder, somewhat amused by the offer Jarvis had made to the orc. She'd been on the bribing end of things quite often in her line of work and it was interesting to see someone else doing it for once. Also one to be on the 'guard being a bit miffed at you' end of things seeing someone else in that situation was immensly amusing, get better at the craft kiddo and that kind of stuff quits happening.

"Oh cool, looks like we'll be elfy, dwarfy, orcy, and the humans." Casting a glance at Catarina she smirked at her comment. "The first task in getting competent folk is finding them, the second is dealing with their eccentricities."
@Karl KadaverPersonally I say we take our time, and continue to get embroiled in our characters personal drama. I also second the idea of a plot device to 'remove' her three characters for the time being. Perhaps you could contact her for a small side story to run while she's gone? As I said, I believe the character interactions we've got going could continue for quite some time.
Lorelai Von'Strauss

Lorelai looked up from her contemplation. What she offered Hazel was a big step, and Lorelai thought it best to give her ample time to think on it. She smiled at Vespa as she entered the room. In Lorelai's opinion Vespa was the picturesque image of the up and coming witch, already quite potent Vespa worked constantly to hone and further develop her talents, as well as gain a functional understanding of magical theory in general. Her sister Elina on the other hand...Lorelai liked the girl, but like Hazel she was sweet, and as endearing as that was it simply wasn't practical for a witch. Unlike Hazel though Elina seemed to have little interest in developing her talents.

Perhaps some witches could afford to be sweet if they had strong sisters. Lorelai strived to be such a sister, Vespa was busy enough so Lorelai ensured that she checked in on Elina from time to time.

"Vespa, good to see you. How are enjoying Alice's works? I always found the later volumes to be of dubious value, they're highly theoretical to be sure and from what I understand she suffered from quite a few hexes performed by rival witches near the end of her career."

Looking at Alexina she realized that here, surrounded by what she considered to be some of her closest friends they might as well just get started on figuring out the Fenros problem. Alexina had told her recently that he was in the region, and judging by her love's discomfort she likely hadn't recieved good news tonight.

"Actually, we were just about to discuss Fenros. I really shouldn't in front of Hazel, but considering the apprenticeship I just offered her I see no harm in her being aware." She squeezed Alexina's hand as she gestured to her love. "Alexina has been hearing word that he's nearby, she's just recieved news that I presume isn't all that good judging by your demeanor love."

Lorelai favored her girlfriend's cheek with a quick kiss before continuing. "I also fear he may not come alone. My demonic servitors have informed me that the Parisi brothers have been spotted in the nearby town. The scions of two well known hunter clans nearby at the same time can't be an omen of good things to come." She winced slighly as she shifted sending a small shock of pain up her spine, this really wasn't a good time to be suffering one of her episodes.

"But we've time to prepare, so I wouldn't be all that worried were I any of you. However I do recommend caution in the woods for the immediate future, and if you could gently inform our other sisters as you encounter them I'd appriciate it."

Lorelai Von'Strauss

Lorelai thought a moment as she examined Hazel. She was a promising witch, studious, ambitious, and cautious. Hazel was also a little ditzy, but that would change with years and experience. Lorelai's primary concern was Hazel's willingness to allow the darker things lurking within her give her power, or rather the lack thereof. Hazel was a sweet girl to be sure, but sweetness wasn't a witch's ideal tool.

Perhaps Lorelai could nurture her, help her to grow as strong as Lorelai knew she could. That would be a rewarding endeavor while she was bound to this castle.

Reaching over Lorelai plucked one of Alexina's hands from her lap and placed in her own. Leaning in she got comfortable and began digging through her bag. A few minutes later she produced a large, black leather bound book, it was bound and written by her own hand. 'A Treatise on Fear and it's Infernal Manifestations'. "You can manipulate fear can't you? This is a book on fear demons, and the nature of fear as it appears in the abyss. Perhaps this and a few other volumes in my collection would be able to offer some insights into your abilities."

She handed Hazel the book carefully, being sure to neither open it nor drop it. "Do be sure not to invoke the name of the demons included in the last few chapters, even without ritual components the mention of such entity's names may draw their attention, and I don't believe you're quite prepared for that."

Once the book left her hands she took the hand she'd stolen from Alexina and interlaced their fingers happily. With a yawn and a small tremor as she felt one of her episodes coming on she laid her head on her shoulder. "As you know Miss Lovelace, I don't get out of the castle as often as I'd like, rarely do I make it beyond the forest. I do hate that most of the trips I've taken there of late have been to collect ingredients, I miss my lazy strolls and aimless sightseeing. I was thinking that a healthy young girl like yourself could perhaps gather some of those reagents for me, and in exchange I'd be willing to take you on as an apprentice, so to speak, and assist you with the wealth of knowledge I've collected over my years in darkness. Now is that something you'd find appealing?"
