A short skinny youth with dirty hair and a general uncouth appearance, pretty much the definition of a yob/chav/drug dealer, obviously Caucasian he stands at about 5ft 6” and weighs only 49kg.
Personality: Skittish, mouthy, obnoxious, talker, street-wise.
Skills: Card as his name non-ironically suggests is pretty damn good at card-hustling and other tricks related to card games. This gives him a natural agility, but also a unique ability to see ways out of situations and reading people’s faces (poker faces being far more difficult to read then the average person’s emotions.)
He’s only really good at running away from confrontations on ‘even’ ground, so his stamina is fairly decent as well as his running speed and agility. He can climb passably well.
Card has never deemed it wise to carry a gun, nor fired one in his life. He does carry a small knife which he has used in a pinch to save himself though, and is pretty decent at rapidly stabbing and slashing to hold back a bigger opponent.
Has a basic knowledge of the criminal underworld, though Card is by no means a higher up in any criminal organisation, barely coming in at the basic gangster/grunt level. He’s dabbled in dealing, small scale robbery, one mugging and one case of grand theft auto.
Weakness: Card is damn near emaciated, meaning he can be held down or overcome physically by even the most average male. He won’t be holding any doors closed against rampaging infected nor ‘pushing’ back the hordes through sheer force.
Card has many of the other limitations of being a small thin man, such as a terribly weak alcohol tolerance.
Card is a downright terrible driver, stalling any manual car he controls and swerving wildly.
Equipment: Stun Gun (stolen from cop, see history.) pocket knife, backpack, two water bottles, pocket map, hoodie, t-shirt, track-suit bottoms, packet of crisps, pack of cards, five cigarettes and a lighter.
History: Card fell into the criminal underworld at only 15, living in a dangerous neighbourhood in a large family with only a mother who doesn’t give a crap about you tends to make such a thing more common. He started out card-hustling and was given a vicious beating, followed by induction into a small time gang running a few gambling dens in the nearby hood. By giving them a significant portion of his cut he was able to survive, just about, for the next four years.
Though never really a proper member, Card was given a few jobs to do to prove his loyalty (by compromising himself with the law.) the last of these happened only a short while after the infection and he was caught, left in a cell almost right up until the point where everything went to hell he got out by the skin of his teeth with some random coppers stun-gun, ran home and picked up enough stuff to sort himself out. What became apparent pretty quickly was that things had gone to shit, and the only way he was going to survive was to do as he does best, be quicker and smarter than damn well everyone else.
