On hiatus until Rilla returns, watch this space sport's fans.
Still open for further challenges.
The Mech was not capable of ‘kicking’ in a conventional sense, the weight would be too much for the legs to sustain safely. However, as one might expect from a mechanical construct with the ability of walking, it was more than capable of bending its knees, and therefore had the necessary requirements for a different form of defence.

As Saanga leapt at the Mech, Higan was waiting, suspecting that any foe who would charge straight at him was more comfortable at a melee range it was the only logical option. His Mech was somewhat limited in its own melee capabilities, but it did have a certain trick to perform. As the shield was launched away it suddenly thrust off the ground with its left leg, raising its right knee up high and driving its momentum forward and through Saanga, aiming to crush him with its metallic weight while cutting his leaping motion short with a knee to the body and face.

Once again it would come down to momentum and weight, two things the Mech definitely had to its favour.
The sudden shock of his opponent blasting into him interrupted Fury’s movement, stopping him from releasing the energy as intended. He could hardly launch the beam as he was bowled over by an attack that was far more powerful than it should have been. Vaguely his energy senses picked up that the disproportionate momentum of Kanitah’s counter had come from the strange rings adorning his body, but the Fireen had little time to consider this as he flew off his feet and slammed onto his back, skidding across the earth. Energy was seeping from his hand in nauseating waves as his concentration dimmed, his body screaming out its discomfort as he considered the injury he had likely suffered. How was it possible that a shoulder barge had dented his armour and broke his ribs?

Fury’s eyes narrowed, the wounds feeding his power, the energy increasing tenfold as pain was ruthlessly squashed and packaged, sent directly to the front lines.

Kanitah was on top of him, he could tell that vaguely, but his right arm was still free and he had plenty of opportunity to defend himself. He threw a right handed hook and opened his fist, finally releasing the pent up energy blast at an up and left angle to obliterate anything on top of him. If anything stopped his hand he would release the blast in a circular ball instead and damn the consequences, likely injuring himself but still clearing a wide area around him.
Saanga's main weakness is a fairly large lack of early-game offensive capability. I think the weapons he creates should maintain some of the heat of lava, potentially giving them the ability to burn through objects.
A wicked shit delayed my post, gimme a minute to recover.

lol
I actually didn't really say what Fury's stance was immediately before launching the attack, though it stands to reason that it would be the stance most applicable for launching that strike. It wouldn't make sense for Fury to still have his right arm extended if he intended to punch/palm strike with it. If you wanted to capitalise on his extended arm you should have done so when he pointed at Kanitah dramatically and started walking forward about two posts back.
That was an earlier action, in the current post he is darting forward with his left hand extended and then launching an underarm strike with his right arm.
I understand that, however, Fury moved towards Kanitah with his right arm extended and then immediately followed with the underarm strike.

Did I say right arm? I could have sworn I said left.

Yep, definitely says left.

It's worth pointing out that Fury's beam attack was launched under-arm, it is certainly not any sort of conventional strike so deflecting the arm would be difficult, you'd have to reach quite far forward and your target would be small and brief, he doesn't need to extend his hand into any sort of strike after all, just point it at Kanitah and let energy do the rest.
