Hmm, alright that overview fills in some blanks.

Still here btw, following the weird conversations about hype-tanks and whatnot.
That shield design makes more sense, assuming it is strapped so that the point faces downwards.
My character's shield basically is the same as the reference, except slightly more curved and slightly smaller (Iceni shields weren't as big as European Celts), that's why pictures can be misleading though. Can you try and find a real world image of your shield type so I can visualise it better.
That's fine, but the design of your shield and its size don't match. I can understand a buckler with blades, but what she has should be more similar to a kite shield, which is different, and limits how you can move it around, it also shouldn't have the coverage it has unless it has a different shape from the reference. It should be more angular and pointing downwards tapering to a point. Also, what real world equivalent are you using as a reference? I'm fairly certain a shield with metal blades on the edges and a brass coating should be heavier than two pounds.
I can't really articulate what's wrong with your shield, but it seems like you've oversized the shield shown in your reference picture, and frankly that wouldn't work.
Your character's shield doesn't seem realistic to me, it's apparently nimble as hell and weighs under two pounds but it's over a meter long, which is even bigger than my character's Celtic shield. Having something like that strapped to your arm should be more cumbersome, hell my character wouldn't attempt what yours has with his shield.
Honestly I can't think of a single Arena of significant note that I'd really care to fight in it again.

Eternal Battleground or whatever is probably the best, which I think Alpha designed.
I assumed you weren't going to get back to me on my queries, so I've just posted on how I saw the scene playing out.
Fortunately for Brennus, though he was impeded somewhat by his opponent’s shield it was only a few fractions of a second before he was able to continue his movement, and ultimately his spear being trapped was not likely to stop him moving his entire body. His opponent’s attempt at a fancy trick with her spear was interesting, but ineffective against the Celt, who held his shield at such an angle that strikes slid off the left side of his shield, as one would expect. If she pressed the issue the only effect would be a test of strength as she attempted to pivot his shield the opposite direction in order for her spear to shoot towards his arm.

Ultimately, time was not on her side for such a move, as his spear drew clear after inflicting a minor wound and Brennus managed to step back as he originally intended, maintaining his defensive stance.
@MelonHead He's making new arenas.

Yeah, I'm just unsure why he had to announce it, anyone can submit Arenas if they want to, also I'm highly sceptical of someone not interested in Arena fighting making Battlegrounds, sort of like a gunsmith who's never fired a gun.
