Actually went and tried to get some cupcakes but that aside pretty good Fox. Skeletons around a treasure chests is supposedly good luck...supposedly.

Kai being a teacher huh why do I enjoy the thought of that?

The inner workings of a character never get tired of seeing it Grothnor.
Sorry for the wait I've been a bit preoccupied lately with a few things. Most of them are taken care of but if more come along it'll take me a second.
Hotaru was right as they had talked about her and he learned some things from Mera as well. He didn't want to pry too much into her past, especially since they didn't have quite all the answers to it right now, he didn't mind telling about his travels a little.
Larel tilted his head a little before bringing a hand to his chin as he tried to think of a story to tell Hotaru, he was silent for a moment digging through his memories for one that hopefully wouldn't be too boring. He smiled a little as one came to mind before grinning turning his attention to the far wall, taking a moment to collect his thoughts.
"Well one that comes to mind is when I was serving my first master....I don't think I have the right to say his real name after my actions and perhaps not even speak of him so I hope you won't mind if I refer to him as Kuroki-san."
Larel cleared his throat before crossing his arms over his chest and closing his eyes as he started the story.
"Kuroki-san was a daimyo I served, who was intent on unifying the land and during his campaign we encountered two other daimyo who were locked in a stalemate with one another for each other lands. Both were equal in terms of troops and had more than enough supplies individually, we found out that the two had actually been engaged like this for months and hadn't moved though their hatred for each other was well known among their people. Kuroki-san considered not getting pulled into the whole dispute but the people were suffering from their actions. Their samurai were causing trouble in the villages causing all kind of chaos and the men they put in charge weren't exactly much better as they were fine so long as they got paid, even if innocent lives were lost in the middle. Noticing that Kuroki-san decided to act and try to end the rivalry between the two, he called both of them to his castle and tried to negotiate. I sat in and watched with my sensei-"
Larel stopped for a moment wondering if he had mentioned the ninja who taught him, he nodded his head as he had talked about her before continuing.
"I mean my mother and the two daimyo had no intention of coming to an agreement and almost got into a fight right then. After that Kuroki-san told me we were going to take the land from them if talking wasn't going to work. We'd have more land and could stop the problems in the villages at the same time, I didn't mind the idea and started to get our troops together but Kuroki-san told me that I was going to do it on my own as he didn't want our troops getting killed over an outside dispute. I didn't know what he meant by that and when I asked he smiled and told me to think about it."
Larel brought a hand to his chin smiling a little as he enjoyed the next part of the story and remembering the events brought a small sense of nostalgia back to those days.
"It took me longer than I care to admit to realize what exactly he meant by it but it came to me while I was watching two birds fight over a piece of food, a third one came and swiped it while they fighting and by time they realized it the third bird was long gone. I needed to get the two of them to fight one another and then we could come in during their dispute. I got to work immediately and spread ill rumors between the two, simple things like one side was running low on supplies, the others troops morale was low, I sent false letters making sure the other side would get them and wrote bad things about their wives, daughters and sons and about them as well. I didn't think it'd work that quickly but Kuroki-san told me that by sunrise they'd attack each other....and he was right. At sunrise the two had gathered all of their troops and met on the battlefield."
Larel lowered his hand chuckling a little thinking back to the look on the two's faces as they stared each other down, but he shook his head needing to finish.
"Anyway the two went at each other relentlessly and right in the middle of the battle we attacked them on both flanks and forced them to surrender. Kuroki-san took their troops into his own and the two daimyo was added into his army. Back then I mostly handled things with my sword so I didn't understand why he wouldn't just kill his enemy and even volunteered to do so. Kuroki-san told me then that a daimyo that couldn't see the world around him wasn't fit for the title. The two men may not be good rulers but they had experience that Kuroki-san saw when he watched them fight, that is was important to observe more than the outer action of a man....hmmm....actually I had forgotten the meaning of that moment....I haven't thought about that in so long."
Larel reached up and rubbed the back of his head chuckling a little.
"I suppose I spoke more of Kuroki-san than myself but that was my life at one point, doing things like that was common. We took over a whole country in three hours using that once, the look on the daimyo's face was wonderful."

Alari nodded with a smile hearing it was okay before he glanced at the building having it confirmed Mera was inside, hearing what she was probably doing his shoulders drooped a little. He did like seeing Mera in her cloak but he was going to miss her kimono, a small sigh escaped from him but he didn't say anything as he noticed something seemed to be bothering Mary and he wasn't going to bring up such a thing right now.
When Mary started talking again he turned his attention to her his eyebrows lowering a little in worry as he listened, he folded his hands together as she mentioned their friendship and he smiled in response before turning his attention forward closing his eyes as she mentioned Mera as well.
Reaching up Alari removed his glasses before opening his eyes, a dull red glow coming from them as he cleaned his glasses with a white handkerchief.
"Would you mind if I mentioned something Mary?" Alari asked a small smile on his face. "It's merely my opinion but I agree that you should be more independent though I wouldn't say so in front of Mera and I can understand being frightened as there are many bad things in the world."
Alari put his glasses back on giving them a little push before he continued looking over at Mary.
"However I wouldn't put aside the dependence on your siblings, perhaps physically but not emotionally. It's okay to stand on your own two feet but doing so alone is hard and most times very painful. In the end everyone has to walk on their own eventually, but it's the bonds we make during our time together that helps move us forward when frightening things present themselves. It's the knowledge that though bad does exist in the world there's just as much good alongside it and you've got just a little bit extra of that from your siblings and hopefully from Kaori and me. You are right that you shouldn't compare yourself to your siblings, there's only one Mary and she's irreplaceable thus comparing her to anything else is an impossibility."
Alari shrugged at this with a smile considering it common knowledge before he reached over and put a hand on her head.
"You'll be fine because you are who you are Mary. Do what you feel is right as that what matters in the end. I believe in you, Kaori believes in you and I'm positive your siblings do too. Anytime you want and only if you want, you can complain to me anytime so don't worry about that. I'm sure your siblings wouldn't mind either...I'm sure Kaori would try at least but no guarantee....anyway I'll stop there I don't want to chew your ear off with all my talking."
Alari removed his hands and stood up from the bench before brushing off his bottom and stretching looking back at Mary once he lowered his arms.
"I'm happy we could become friends too Mary and I think Mera had good company before us if you guys were with her." Alari said with a smile. "I'll take any optimism over recent circumstances as well."
Alari crossed his arms closing his eyes for a moment as he didn't want to linger too long so Mera came out, it was their personal time together after all.
"During the fireworks Kaori saw something in you, he wouldn't tell me what but he took it upon himself to try and bring your smile back. He worries about you too Mary, and it takes something extremely interesting to keep Kaori's attention so that's a miracle in itself."
Alari turned to walk away but stopped for a moment and rubbed the back of his head.
"I suppose I worry too but that comes with caring about someone so it's a natural reaction. Having someone worry about you isn't something one misses until no one does it anymore....I'll just stop, I really will start sounding like an Oji-san if I keep talking."
A grin formed on Luro's face as he listened to Runali, and it only seemed to widened as she continued, though it mostly came from being able to let loose a little. His attention shot to Ray as he spoke to him and he watched Nolan making his way to the cannons, he looked at his rifle then over at the swivel gun before moving his gun to one hand and rubbing his chin with the other. He was already in his rifle range so did that mean he shouldn't use the swivel gun, no that didn't make any sense Ray wouldn't have said anything if that was the case. Looking over at the swivel gun the ship was getting closer, he shrugged and moved his rifle to his back before running over to it, thinking about it when was he going to get the chance to use the gun again? Knowing the chances were slim he wasn't about to pass up the opportunity while it was there, he promptly got to work tearing into the ship laughing loudly as he watched the crew scramble and move from the onslaught of attacks hitting them.
"Hahahahahaha this gun is amazing! Can I carry it around with me! Oh look he jumped off the ship that's so good hahaha! I may be in love with the person who put this on the Coral!"
Luro quickly moved to a cannon loading a grapeshot as he heard Ray once more, he glanced at Kai hearing his advice before nodding and aiming up fired the cannon, the shot slamming into the masts. Luro pumped his fists before his attention moved to captain who was taking care of the boarders, seeing the captain in action invigorated him and he was more than happy to comply with boarding the ship.
With Ray and Nolan still on the ship he knew the captain would be okay, and Kai was there too. He wasn't sure what the stowaway would do but the captain could handle herself, she showed that more than once.
"I'm going over Kai! They'll pay for putting a harpoon in the Coral Pearl. Especially since I have to fix that later!"
Luro gave Kai a two finger salute before climbing up to where the harpoon was lodged, he tugged on the rope a bit before sighing a little, it was not going to be fun getting it out of there later but for now it would serve as a way across.
He figured swinging across would be useful but it took a long time for him to set those ropes up for the possibility of boarding, he wasn't going to use them for anything other than another pirate ship, though he supposed being picky right now really wasn't going to solve anything but he was already climbing across so it was too late now.
"Just going to say subdue means they can't fight back. Ah if they die then they can't fight back so that works."

Luro landed on the deck with a roll and pulled his rifle out staggering a little before coming a face to face with a few of the crew who already had their swords drawn.
"Alright then so you guys are alright if I kill you right? No hard feelings and all that?"
The pirates ran at him with a yell and Luro shrugged taking that as consent before raising his gun, he jumped back dodging one of the cutlass before slamming the butt of his gun into the pirates face sending him reeling back. He ran forward as the pirate moved to attack again only to have Luro grab his shirt, bringing his head forward Luro headbutted the pirate and grabbing his gun shot another pirate closing on him. Turning the gun over his hand holding the barrel he quickly brought the butt across the face of a pirate advancing on his left sending him to the ground, he dropped the gun with a whistle and grabbed the gun of the pirate on the ground before shooting him with it throwing it aside afterwards.
He noticed something out of the corner of his eye and raised his gun as a cutlass almost hit him, he grinned seeing he was able to block the attack the sword currently against his gun. He quickly moved his hands to both sides of his gun and spun it in a full circle disarming the assailant before catching it and bringing it against his face sending him to the ground. He slammed the gun against his face again making sure he wasn't going to get back up before he remembered he was on the ship for another reason than necessary violence.
"Wait wasn't I supposed to be doing something? Oh right the slaves!" Luro exclaimed before running towards the door to the lower deck.
A pirate slammed into Luro before he could make it knocking him into the side of the ship, ignoring the pain from getting slammed against the ship he brought his knee into the man's stomach before grabbing him and throwing him overboard.
With a sigh he turned to go back below deck but stopped as he noticed someone holding onto the Coral Pearl below, he arched a brow at it but figured he should say something since he was holding on for dear life.
"Guys!" Luro yelled. "Someone holding onto the Coral below! He doesn't look like one of these guys so he may be one of the slaves!"
Luro started to say something else but tapped a fist against his skull remembering he was going below deck, he ran towards the door throwing it open and going downstairs. Unfortunately there were members below deck as well but he kind of expected it as he narrowly dodged a cutlass aimed at his neck.
He slammed his gun into the stomach of one of the members before rolling over his back, he grabbed the groaning man and quickly raised his body as another slaver stabbed at him. Luro grinned as the sword penetrated the man before he pushed the now dead man towards the other, the attacker was forced to throw his friend aside which gave Luro enough time to slam the butt of the gun into the man's neck sending him to the ground in pain.
"Oh man that looks painful," Luro said grabbing the man's pistol. "Sorry about that kinda got caught in the moment."
He raised the gun and shot the man in the skull before offering a firm nod and a small smile.
"There we go all better," he said throwing the gun aside and walking further into it taking a moment for him to find where the slaves were being kept.

Regrettably when he found them he noticed that one of their shots had hit a few, he lowered his head for a moment bringing a fist to his chest as a silent apology before raising his head the smile returning to his face.
"Lasses and lads! The StarDusk pirates are here to save you and since you probably have nothing of worth on you I won't be robbing you either! Hugs are acceptable forms of compensation of course, kisses from lasses are fine too."
Luro knelt down at one of the cages and took out a lockpick before sticking it into the keyhole.
"It's a good thing I keep these on me since I got locked up....give me a sec to get this going. How are you guys doing by the way? Aside from the whole being prisoners thing?"
Luro took care of one lock not really getting a response to his question and opened the cage before moving over to the next one going to remove it, in his focus he didn't notice the man approaching him from the shadows, a small hum coming from him as he messed with the tumblers.
"There's probably a smaller boat on here somewhere, you guys could use that to get away."
Now I'm curios what a batman cupcake would look like but that's for another time.

The post is up, I didn't want to stop once I started.
Working on a post now and I wouldn't mind some cupcakes. Oh and happy birthday...I think.
It's a possibility that's worth asking Vita as some did join not too long ago and that's cool Nutty, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
I knew the former but not the latter Grothnor, found the former out the hard way.

Fox I'm not sure what to say to that pun so I'll accept it as it made me chuckle, I see a possibly nickname later on and yes the dialogue options are fantastic, especially in conversations with Junpei.

Favorite....hmm that's a hard one. I don't think I have one but I like the persona games so that's the closest I have.

Injustice is fun, I normally use green arrow when I play. I enjoy versus games but at a certain point I reach the big league or go online in which case I gotta agree with Grothnor. Still can't back away from them though. Guilty gear, blazeblue, jojo(old one), Tekken, street figther, P4 arena. I'll play those any day, just...not always online.

My day's going pretty good, it's nice and casual just the way I like it thanks for asking. How's it on your end Aki?

Also it seems we have another post as well.
Yep it was in solitude and I actually wanted to rush in, just walk in and crash a wedding and I wondered if there was a dialogue choice if you spoke with her and yeah I escaped the mines but it was not fun. Took more attacks to the face than I care to admit.

The shivering isles, just...just never again and cool looking forward to it Grothnor.

Sorry to hear it formally but okay, and yes that is a very important announcement, hi to you as well.

I see good to know what's permitted, I will get right on that when I post though that won't be for a few more posts.
Very true but it happens sometimes, least we have that many I suppose.
