if you have a "craving", write a story on your own, that way when you inevitably lose interest and quit you're only wasting your own time

I'm confused. Am I allowed to use the Leech, or do I have to find something else?

The powerlisting definition is very different from what I see it as.
I wasn't aware that Displacement had a thing to look it up by online. That was just a casual name I gave the idea. As far as I can tell, the idea I presented isn't used anywhere specific.

However, Leeching is fine, and I'll figure out a range shortly. Thanks much. Would you rather I cut out the Power-leech and keep it to abilities/skills/knowledge normal humans can acquire?
Well to be honest, for the Leeching, the ability to copy powers was just something I threw in, since I saw all sorts of things like "darkness manipulation" and "light manipulation" and didn't want to be the underpowered guy. In reality, I have no need for the power copying.

Defensive Warping isn't moving completely out of the way. For example, gunshot to the chest? Turns into a gunshot in the shoulder. It's not super-dodge, more along the lines of "you're not dying, but you will hurt."

Enhanced reflexes is a part of Hyperkinesis, according to the description of it I found online. An example I like is that a hyperkinetic could throw a quarter into a vending machine from two yards away, or shoot a bullet off of a sign into someone's back. Another use would be setting off a huge chain of improbable reactions with a tiny start, like dropping a pencil, which eventually destroys a bridge. It's the idea that's the most of the stretch, but it has the coolest potential, in my opinion.

Charisma and Perception are all well and good, but neither of them really give a character a ton of variety. Like, for Perception, imagine just being able to see/hear radio transmissions, but be unable to affect them. It would be nifty, but not really a 'superpower' like the rest of these. And charisma manipulation would definitely be a chore to deal with in a group RP, seeing as all the characters and players, completely understandably, don't want to be influenced against their will by another character.

All in all, Leeching or Displacement (A synonym for defensive warping) would be my top two, and if you are willing to allow either of those (with whatever modifications you prefer), I would take great pains to make sure the RP remain balanced.
Those are the most interesting ones I could think of. I'm not really one for the first ideas that come to mind.

Maybe if you tell me why they're iffy I can fix them up for you.

A couple more ideas that might work are Hyperkinesis (Perfect synchronization between body and mind: perfect balance, perfect aim, and greatly enhanced motor skills. Things that would injure a normal human, like falling off a swing, could be gracefully turned into a roll. Other uses include calculating complex probabilities of life in advance, or reacting on a speed faster than most humans would be able to), or Electromagnetic Perception (Can 'see' the entire spectrum of electromagnetic wavelengths, and perhaps influence them as well. Includes radio waves, signals, etc.).

Dunno, I'm not super-thinking right now.
Name
Matthew C. Hunt
"Matt"
"Cormac/Mac" (Middle name)

Appearance

Matthew is reasonably tall and fit (see 5'10"-5'11"), but he doesn't spend hours and hours looking his best. Generally speaking, he's as in shape as is any student who runs from building to building and engages in moderate exercise each day. He likes jeans and khakis.

Age
19

Gender
Male

Power(s)
Skill Leeching: Matthew can absorb the knowledge, skill, or physical prowess of others. For example, if a master stunt driver were to be sitting next to him in a car, Matt would be able to draw that driver's technical know-how out, and use it himself. If he needed to double his strength, he could draw this extra strength from a resting man nearby.

Essentially, Matt can draw any skill or physical attribute from another person, as long as he knows it exists (see the stunt driver example: if Matt doesn't know that someone is a stunt driver, he can't use their driving ability).

With permission from another empowered being, Matt can also siphon off their powers to use temporarily for himself. This is limited in scope, as quite often superhumans use their abilities without even knowing about it, and he can only siphon one power at a time.

Limits/Weaknesses
It may have been apparent, but Matthew can only leech from others when they, themselves, are not using the ability. If the stunt driver above were to be using his driving skill, Matt would be unable to draw the knowledge from him. If the resting man were to be lifting a heavy box, Matt would be unable to steal his strength. Also, as soon as the person being leeched utilizes their talent (No matter how much Matt steals from them, they never 'forget' how to do what they do), Matt loses the benefit of their mind or physique.

Matt's leeching is also limited to a maximum of six people at a time, though his ability is growing slowly over time.

Equipment
-He wears a leather jacket for its' waterproofing and windproofing, but he isn't obsessed with it. It's just convenient.
-A wallet, with his drivers license and library card. Some spare change, some paper money.
-A phone, to keep in touch with people (of course).

Personality:
Matt is a fairly normal guy, in the sense that he gets angry, sometimes, laughs a healthy amount, focuses well when the need requires it, and is regularly tempted to use his power to make life easier for him, but not to take over the world. He likes to tease people sometimes, and he has a considerable amount of cynicism running through his veins. That being said, he's also strangely idealistic, and interested in all things science, technology, music, and more. He's very 'jack of all trades, expert of some'.

He's somewhat shy and standoffish to new people (who wouldn't be?) but as long as they don't annoy or bother him, he opens up pretty quickly. He's a nice guy, although he can be a tad introverted and self-critical.

History
There isn't a whole lot to say regarding Matt's history. His family was relatively boring, albeit wealthier than normal. His mother is a physicist, and his father is a business leader. They raised Matt and his two siblings (a younger sister and older brother) well, instilling in the three of them a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed, though Matthew is the one who took it to heart the most.

He was signed up for a martial arts class when he was around eight, and has continued to practice since then. He's skilled, very skilled, but in the martial arts circles, he's no master, and he has never fought in a competition.

His ability's manifestation didn't throw him off too badly, although keeping it hidden has been varying amounts of difficult. After getting into Stonewald, he's been very laid back about his life, though in complete contrast, he's been very studious and focused. He doesn't believe in fate, but he does believe that the amount he studies and practices will be in direct relation to how successful he is in life.

He hopes to one day make a large fortune, so that he can fund all of his wildest experiments, and open a free, high-caliber college for any who wish to learn. That's his two goals in life.

Other
-Although not really a 'power', Matt is a very intelligent man. He sucks up things that interest him like a sponge, and, as long as he studies and reviews, he consistently scores high and performs well in his classes.
-Coupled with his intelligence is his willpower. Matt is stubborn to a fault, and if he decides he isn't going to do something, then Heaven will burn and the sky will fall before he'll change his mind, unless someone can really convince him to.
-Matt has a second degree black belt in Aki-Jiujitsu, and is capable of taking care of himself without any form of 'power'.
-Having only had one girlfriend ever, Matt is fairly inexperienced in the art of flirting, but he spends considerable amounts of time talking to friends about his plans if he were to find someone, and about how he'd treat them the best he could.
I think it's pretty locked in there, thanks. I only asked because I was curious if an idea I had swirling around would be allowed. I'll probably come up with something, though.

FBI agent vs mob leaderHere I'm thinking that magical abilities can and do exist in this. I would love to play the mobster for he/she will be a flamboyant leader. The task that the FBI agent is to find out who his/her people are while also playing by the mobsters rule and doing as the mobster wants. He/she will be called 'The Mystic' because he/she will have strong magic powers :)

This interests me.
Mk, will bear in mind.
Are characters required to be students?

Diggin' for info
Teacher/Student is traditional education enviroment, I assume? Not, for example, a tutoring, or a senior agent training a junior one (just examples off the top of my head, no real plots involved)?
