As someone who works for a pet store I both love and hate pixar. The next person that tries to ask me if we have "a dory fish" for their goldfish bowl is getting straight up clubbed like a baby seal

I am still here as well.
As he exited the park, Jacque noticed a growing crowd of people milling about just outside of the park's entrance. Jacque's brow quirked a bit as he read the expression on their faces: some were scared, some excited, and some seemed absolutely livid. Perhaps it was because he was still bitter about his near thwarted robbery, or maybe because he wanted to see just how good he was at swaying people, but Jacque couldn't help but think of a way to use the crowd of onlookers to hassle the team of young heroes a bit. The criminal slipped into the crowd, standing in between an older man with a scowl, and a woman with her hands clasped over her mouth, and put on a hate filled glare "This isn't right.", he said, grabbing their attention. Jacque looked at the man and woman and gestured to the heroes, "What? You don't see the problem here? They just came in swinging! Not a single one of those "heroes" tried to get people to safety. I mean come on, there are CHILDREN here and they're acting like they don't care!" Jacque hissed venomously. As a few more people turned their attention to Jacque, older man's scowl deepened further, "Hey, hey yeah you're right! They just started fighting". A cacophony of murmurs began to arise from the crowd just before a teenage girl just a bit younger than Jacque spoke up, "Wait, I saw one of them deflect the weapon the bad guy was using!" she said in defense of the team, "Oh yeah? Well I didn't see her LOOK where she threw it. What if she'd redirected it at someone else?" Jacque spat back. The crowd now circled around Jacque, their eyes on him as he internally chuckled despite his sever expression, "What do you suppose would happen if someone got hurt by their actions, huh!? What, you think they'll try to reimburse you or settle it in court? NO! These people think that their powers make them above the law, and i'm sick of it! Who's looking out for us when these people destroy our property? You think your insurance company is going to cover your vehicle after one of them pancakes it and uses it as a bludgeon!?" The criminal roared indignantly. The murmurs in the crowd began to rise in volume as the mixture of emotions in the crowd began swaying closer towards ire. Jacque stood quietly as the people worked themselves up even further before he decided to stir up the hornets nest even further, "And what about what happened today, huh? Two men DIED in that bank robbery and they let one of the robbers escape! I bet they didn't even TRY to look for the last guy! Imagine what the families of those men must be going through knowing that one of the potential killers is still out there!". In truth Jacque's last statement made him feel a bit guilty as he was talking about himself. Mentioning the deaths of the officers to get a rise out of others felt low, even for him, however he pushed the thought away as it got the desired result. Now just about everyone in the crowd was angry, even the girl who'd originally defended the heroes. "I say we stop letting vigilantes who think they're above the law continue putting people in harm's way! LET'S LET THEM KNOW THEY'RE NOT WANTED!" Jacque snarled before pointing at the group of combatants in the park. The people didn't need to be told twice; they instantly turned and began marching towards the heroes and villains that did battle in the park, all traces of fear gone as they hurled all manner of insults and vulgar gestures at Casan, Nikolai, Torch, and Hunter. All of them except one: Jacque. Jacque stood back, all traces of his fake anger replaced with a smug smirk as he took a moment to admire his handiwork, "Let's see how you all like being held up." he said to himself before turning and continuing on his merry way home, enjoying the sounds of indigence from the folks he'd riled up even as they began to get fainter with his increasing distance.
Jacque yawned as he walked lazily through a park, opting to take a scenic route that lead to his flat. In one hand dangled a small brown cardboard box tat vibrated and let out a small squeak every now and then. "Oi, keep it down in there." Jacque said as he shook the box a bit, rattling the rather fat rat inside into silence. After a few seconds of this, Jacque continued on his way "That's better. Remi's gonna have a field day with you. Should've laid off on all those oats bud, maybe id've picked someone different.". Shifting his back pack a bit, Jacque was coming close to the exit when the sound of screaming children caught his attention, "What now?" he sighed as he looked for the source of the disturbance. It didn't take long, as all he had to do was look in the direction that some of the children and their parents fled from. The sight before him was indeed a spectacle to behold as several people began duking it out. At first it seemed to Jacque like a few people that had drank a bit too much or maybe some some sort of turf war, however both theories were tossed out of the window as one transformed into a massive gorilla, and another one looked a lot like the one he'd kicked in the head and held at gun point earlier in the day. "Nnnnope." Jacque said with a deadpan expression as he kept on walking, keen on avoiding what he could only assume to be the heroes he'd narrowly escaped from. Jacque's crime of the day was done, now all he wanted to do was go home, feed his pet, and peruse the internet for a new laptop. Maybe if the mood struck him, he'd go blow some of his money on overpriced drinks and other sorts of questionable vices, but for now, simply avoiding the carnage was good.
Orb weaver couldn't help but snicker a bit at their answers. Warren's had been a fairly tame albeit reckless one, while John's had been the exact opposite. Before he had the chance to comment on this however, Bolt decided to take his leave with a final comment on how he'd be in touch. The criminal smirked and set his tablet on the crate, musing that he might have just found a partner on crime that would be useful in the future, possibly even two or three if he ran into John and Sarah again. Orb weaver was certain that the telepath would be down for anything that would benefit him, though the girl would prove to be a tricky one to win over. That could wait, for now it was time to hit the road, "Well, this has been a blast my telepathic friend, however I believe it's time that I bid you adieu.". Without even the slightest hesitation, Orb weaver pulled off his mask and ruffled his hair a bit. He shoved the mask, gun, and tablet into his bag and jumped off the crates, landing with a small grunt. "If you're ever looking to do something like this again, my usual hangout is the cafe on Mariner Avenue. Be seeing ya." Jacque said as he patted John on the shoulder and walked off whilst whistling Joker and the Thief.
:( Everyone targetting a happy ice cream eating girl. Not even peace for an hour.
No one is safe. Not even the ice cream eaters...
ESPECIALLY not the icecream eaters. So, given the fact that Bolt has taken his leave, should we just say that the drop off was completed and the money was split amongst John and Warren as Jacque promised? I don't mind just having Jacque loitering a bit and taking his leave in my next post. -- EDIT I think that's what i'll do to keep the flow going.
Blue bay docks, Happy Harbor Orb weaver sat quietly on a pile of crates, his legs crossed, and his hands clutching/tapping on his tablet. With the help of Bolt and TK, he'd been able to once more acquire the money once more. Orb weaver chuckled a bit as he recalled briefly the screams inside the bank after he reactivated the security system and trapped a few officers inside the bank vault. It had provided a nice distraction for the money to be carried out discretely. From there it had been as simple as hot-wiring a car, making it to the drop point, and notifying the Penguin of what had happened. "So my gaggle of misfits, any of you gave any thought as to what you're going to do once we get payed? I mean we're talking a good chunk of cash here." he asked as he looked over his tablet at John and Bolt.
IGNORE THIS i'm an idiot and posted in the wrong spot.
*fidgets* Anyone in the cafeteria? I think my reading comprehension is dropping, because I can't tell.
Not to my current knowledge Diz.
Then it all works out, so let's say this started at like oh I don't know 10am. Would be it be good with you guys if we time skipped to perhaps 5pm or so? Enough time for the villains to get their thing together, GA to have an existential crisis, and the team to hang out.
I could definitely do that. This way I could say Jacque just reached the drop point to deliver the money and receive his payment.
The only thing is that Warren is a loner. I can have him stay local, he can teleport after all. Perhaps the promise of future pay offs was enticing enough to prevent him from taking any jobs during the TS. Building some sort of foundation for the antagonist is good.
I can respect that. I don't want you to have to change an integral part of your character. Perhaps he and Jacque could at least stay in some sort of contact and collaborate occasionally if the pay off is good?
So my big debut is snuffed out? Well that bites.
Well not if Warren and Jacque establish a working relationship. If Warren doesn't have a home of his own he can crash at Jacque's two bedroom flat so long as he agrees to be the muscle for some of the crimes. It'd help to establish a long term set of antagonists for the heroes.
