Now, some would argue that Dimitri had all of the social graces of a baked potato, and for all intents and purposes they'd be right, however even he knew when something could be considered off by social standards. Something such as his current predicament. Dimitri went ridged when he first felt someone sit close to him, his mind raced to figure out what in the world would possess someone to sit next to him despite other available seats. This perplexity was soon replaced by even more tension and alarm as he felt someone guide his head down onto something soft and begin to stroke his head and neck. He turned his head upwards and stared with wide eyes and pin prick sized pupils at Victorica as his mind tried to process what was happening, failed, then tried again. This seemingly endless loop of comprehension failure was broken when Kalinda sat on his desk and promptly introduced herself.

Dimitri shuddered a little,'What the hell is going on!? Why on earth is she petting me? Oh Death I can't breathe. Breathe Holmes you social trainwreck. Do NOT jump up and scream like a little girl.'. Rather than heed his instincts and jump clear away from the women in his vicinity, Dimitri slowly removed his head from Victorica's lap and took a deep breath to compose himself. What was the red haired one talking about again? Oh, right, she was introducing herself "Holmes nice to Dimitri you meet.". Realizing his spectacular grammatical failure, Dimitri mentally slapped himself, cleared his throat, and tried once more, "Sorry...not really used to talking to people in my age group. U-um...I'm Dimitri, Dimitri Holmes. Nice to meet you." He said meekly as he stared down at his hands.
After herding the hens back into their coop, Jacque slowly took off after Estelle, however by the time he was airborne the girl had already become a rapidly fading dot even to his incredible vision. For a moment Jacque wondered what could possibly get her so worked up, however the answer soon made itself known in the form of the distressed keening of an eagle in the distance. Jacque swiveled his head in the direction of the cries, however he made no move towards the sound. As far as he was concerned, whatever was going on in that direction was just a matter of nature taking its course, meaning he had no right to interfere. It was soon apparent that Estelle did not share this mentality, as she zoomed towards the keening eagle at speeds Jacque could only dream of reaching. "Fuck but that kid is fast..." He muttered as he prepared to follow after his younger sibling to defend her if the eagle became hostile. He hadn't made it but a few meters before Estelle began her flight back to the house at a much more relaxed pace.

Jacque rolled his eyes and took off after her as quickly as he could without dropping or damaging any of the eggs in flight. If there was anything that could better illustrate the difference in flight abilities between Jacque and Estelle, Jacque couldn't think of it. Even at his current speed, Jacque was just barely able to catch up with Estelle even as she remained at a slower pace. "You've got to warn people when you're going to go off like that. You know how dangerous it is for you to...do I smell blood?" Jacque suddenly picked up the pace, the eggs be damned. At his top speed he was still leagues slower that Estelle, however it did the trick to get him ahead of her long enough for him to turn around. "Estelle, did that thing hurt you?" He asked with an underlying tone of venom in his voice. There weren't many instances that Jacque actually used Estelle's actual name, only when he considered a situation serious or when she was in trouble, and right now it was a bit of both that kept him from calling her munchkin. Jacque flapped in placed as he glanced at Estelle's shoulder, then glared balefully in the direction of the eagle, "Oh, it is so fucking DEAD.". Now Jacque was pissed, nothing injured his family and got away with it unscathed. He flew around Estelle and began making his way towards the eagle and her chick, intent on repaying the injury to Estelle's shoulder with some bloodshed of his own.
Dimitri sank further into his chair, wishing not for the first time in his life that he could disappear, or at the very least, become smaller. He was absolutely mortified that he'd acted out like that, 'Now these guys'll probably gonna think i'm some sort of ticking time bomb! Lord Death take me now.' he mentally lamented as he stared down at his desk. Listening to both Katsuo and Kalinda only further exacerbated the feeling off anxiety washing over him. Dimitri pursed his lips and then looked back up as he prepared to defend his actions, "I-t's not customary, and it's not like it was about just sticking up for her, girl or not. It's just...just...never mind.". Dimitri gave a heavy sigh and laid his head on the desk before slipping his arms around around his head, almost as if to block out everything around him.

Perhaps it was because of his social ineptitude, but the meister still felt pretty terrible for his outburst, and that some sort of peace offering might be in order. He slid his hand around on the desk and tugged on his scarf, and at that moment Dimitri made up in his mind that he'd make her a scarf when he got home. While he was at it, Ju-Long would be getting one too for being one of the first people in god only knew how long to speak to him in a friendly manner. It wasn't really the most normal thing in the world to do for people you first meet, but by god, it was something Dimitri was good at, and that was what he was going to do.
I'm down for whatever myself. Just wanted to get a better feel for this version of Dimitri as a character. It won't be likely that he'll raise his voice or act aggressive, and even if he does he'll just go right back to acting meek. It'll make it all the more satisfying when I actually have him fight something for the first time.
Realizing that Kalinda had actually heard his comment on her actions, Dimitri sputtered a bit as he attempted at first to apologize, then to stop her from yelling into Victirica's ear "Well, no...but-", his rebuttal was quickly lost in Kalinda's shouting. Dimitri winced as Kalinda continued her harassment and a stirring in his chest. Watching her reminded Dimitri of how his own interactions with others used to go prior to him taking up boxing. The shouting, the unwanted physical contact, the unnecessary aggression against someone who was minding their own business, it all left a sour taste in his mouth. He mulled on it until Kalinda gave Victorica one last jab with her finger, then bolted up out of his seat without thinking, sending the bit of furniture clattering to the ground "Why do you have to pick at her? Why the hell can't you just LAY OFF!?". The last two words were booming, and far more befitting of Dimitri's appearance than the gentle speech he'd been using up until now, his gaze was hard like steel, and his fists were balled tightly.

The area immediately around the meister's body grew a bit heavier as he glared at Kalinda, however the sensation faded rapidly thanks to the Kyukon water. Just as quickly as it had come, Dimitri's bravado disappeared as he realized what he was doing. His expression softened and he swiftly turned to pick up his chair and sit back in it. "Sorry." He muttered without looking back in Kalinda's direction.
@ViolentViolet

I recall there being a split off even before that one where it was Fang, Iggy, and Gassy, and they were on a beach however it was a very temporary split. Then there was the whole thing with Nudge wanting to live at some academy but returning shortly, then Fang left again...jeez, for a family they sure to split up a bunch.
Glad I could think up a suggestion that might be able to give the RP a nice little twist later down the road. It occurs to me now that with this plot twist we're actually veering a bit closer to the series as well seeing as I vaguely recall there being a split off in the Flock in the earlier books.
An interesting character in my opinion. Given the nature of her personality, I could see this character being the voice of reason of the bunch, or at the very least the analytical one. I was actually toying with making my own character go for a second-in-command role after a little while given his tough nature and "firm older sibling" attitude, however if you're down for it l0ck then I definitely won't contest. Although, now that I think about it, both of our characters could vie for the role. It'd make for an interesting clash in the future should Luna ever become separated from the group, what with Jacque's gruffness and desire to listen to his instincts and gut feelings and Senka seemingly being more of a calmer, "think then act" sort of person. Interesting choice in animal pairings by the way.
*hugs* Thank you for being so kind to me. I thought of about a dozen responses to what you said, but all I can do is thank you.

Don't sweat it Diz, just continue truckin' on and doing what makes you happy. :P
Dimitri smirked in satisfaction as Kassy agreed to the amount of cookies to be baked, however the smirk was lost and quickly replaced with a much less than dignified squeak as Dimitri found himself being hugged. As he'd followed after her, Dimitri had made a mental note to work her twice as hard during the next training session for that. A quick -and thankfully uneventful- shopping trip later, and they were right back home. After chucking a few whole eggs into Regis' feeding dish and washing his hands, Dimitri had wasted virtually no time getting out onto the back deck and getting the grill ready.

The sudden shift in plans had meant that Dimitri hadn't gotten the chance to soak the wood chips in apple cider in the fridge overnight like he usually would have, however dicing up some apples and adding them to the wood worked just as well if he truly had to compromise. After adding in some onions to the wood as well for flavor, Dimitri started the fire and turned his attention to the lamb. Whilst rubbing them in a combination of salt, pepper, and garlic powder Dimitri overheard Kassy's question and scowled as his face flushed in response to the nickname. He would have complained long ago where it not for the fact that he knew he'd be a hypocrite for often referring to Kassy as 'Kas', and instead once more swallowed his pride and mulled over Kassy's inquiry, "I suppose we could get you something of your own. We'd have to be careful to make sure it's something Regis couldn't eat, or at least make it too hard to get to.".

As if on queue, Regis -whom had followed Pulse outside for some sun- crawled from his impromptu sunning spot on one of the deck's pieces of lawn furniture and began to climb up Dimitri's leg. He patiently waited until Regis had clambered up to his back before carrying the platter of chops over to the grill and tossing them on. The meat sizzled and popped a bit, eliciting a grin from Dimitri as he grabbed a bowl of glaze he'd set on one of the grill's racks and began to swipe over the meat as it cooked. There were few things that made Pulse legitimately happy, however the bourbon glaze that his grandmother had taught him to make was definitely one of those things. As far as he was concerned, it was a thing of beauty; made from a combination of dark and light brown sugar, a dash of worcestershire and soy sauce, and some honey bourbon that he'd convinced one of his older coworkers to purchase for him. Dimitri left half of the sauce in the bowl for when the lamb chops where done, and closed the grill. As Regis finally clambered atop Dimitri's shoulders, Dimitri debated whether or not to go back inside to wait, however ultimately opted not to, figuring that he'd more than likely be pushed right back out by Kassy to ensure the safety of the cookie dough she was preparing.
