Welcome to roleplayers guild!

If you're interested in a group roleplay I've got one that's super friendly and open to new folks.

Medieval fantasy with a splash of magitech and steampunk. Following the popular trope of Isekai or "magically transmigrated to a new world"

We use a system similar to ttrpgs for character growth and some combat.

Shoot me a message if you're interested!

Happy roleplaying

Welcome to Roleplayers guild!

If you ever get an inkling to try an original setting for a roleplay, I've got a Group that's always open to new folks. It's a medieval fantasy setting with a splash of magitech and steampunk. And the popular trope of characters being magically transported/transmigrated into a whole new fantasy world.

Happy roleplaying!
The march began beneath a sky already deepening toward indigo.
The gates of Nan Gau closed behind them with a low, resonant groan of iron and timber, the sound swallowed quickly by falling snow. Lantern light pooled briefly around the road before thinning, replaced by torchlight and the pale glow of dusk reflected off the mountains.

The pass stretched ahead, narrow and winding.

At first, the land was harsh and unforgiving. Stone rose sharply on either side of the road, jagged and frost-bitten, with pines clinging stubbornly to the slopes. Snow lay thick across the ground, packed hard where countless boots and hooves had passed before, softer at the edges where wind sculpted it into drifting ridges. Each breath came out in pale clouds. The air burned faintly in the lungs.

Sound carried strangely here.

Footsteps crunched in uneven rhythm. Metal shifted softly against leather. The wind threaded through the pass in low whistles, tugging at cloaks and hoods. Somewhere above, snow slid loose from a branch and fell in a quiet cascade.
As they moved farther north, the cold began to ease.

Not all at once, but subtly. The wind lost some of its bite. The snow thinned, turning wet beneath their boots. Dark soil began to show through in patches beside the road, unfrozen and soft. Steam rose faintly from the earth in places, barely visible but unmistakable once noticed.

The mountains opened slightly, the pass widening into gentler slopes.
Here, vegetation clung more readily to the land. Leafless trees gave way to hardy shrubs. Frost-coated grasses bent beneath their weight instead of snapping. The air carried a different scent now, mineral and damp, touched faintly with warmth from beneath the ground.
The road curved once more.

Nan-Li emerged from the haze of falling snow.
It was small, just as it had been described. An Edo-style farming village nestled against the lower rise of the mountains. Low wooden homes with sloped roofs clustered close together. Narrow paths wound between them, leading toward terraced fields now half-buried beneath melting snow.
And it was silent.

Too silent.

There were no lights in the windows. No smoke from chimneys. No figures moving through the streets.

Closer inspection told a harsher story.
Baskets lay overturned in the road, produce spilled out and half-frozen where it had fallen. A bundle of firewood rested abandoned beside a doorway. A cart stood crooked near the edge of the village, one wheel sunk into soft earth as if it had been left mid-motion.

Nothing here suggested an orderly evacuation.
It looked instead as though the villagers had fled in haste, or vanished where they stood.

The warmth beneath the soil lingered, undeniable.
But Nan-Li itself felt empty.
And waiting.

The road ended at the edge of the village, snow and mud clinging to boots as the group approached the first abandoned homes, dusk settling fully over the land.

Whatever had happened here, it had not finished yet.

Something was wrong.

That was the first thought that cut through the haze as Aedrianna stumbled back a step, boots scraping softly against the stone of the lane. Her breath came faster than it should have, chest tight, heart hammering too loud in her ears.

She reached instinctively for her magic.

Nothing answered. No warmth. No familiar pull in her chest. No resonance in her throat or along her fingertips. It was like reaching into still water and finding only empty air.

Her stomach twisted, and she swallowed. Forcing herself not to panic.

The arena around her felt muted. The mana lines etched into the floor still glowed faintly, but their light seemed distant, unreachable, as though separated from her by glass. Even the air felt heavier here, pressing in, dulling sound and motion alike.

Aedrianna backed away again, careful not to trip, one hand lifting defensively while the other slipped into her satchel.

Leather creaked softly as her fingers fumbled inside. Glass clinked and her pulse spiked, but her hand did not hesitate.

The masked judge stood only a few paces away now, posture relaxed, almost casual. The polished gold of his mask caught the arena’s light in a way that made it difficult to focus, as though the surface refused to settle in her vision.

“What is it you’re hoping to achieve here?” she demanded, forcing her voice not to shake. “Do you even know what that symbol is?”

Her fingers closed around something cool and cylindrical.

He laughed, a muted, self-satisfied sound.

“Oh, little songbird,” he said, tone warm and indulgent. “You think we don’t all know?”

He took a slow step closer.

“We’ll collect all the souls we can. Devour half the continent. Yours too, of course.”
“And then Insurmountable power will belong to the ones who collected the most. Power in a new world, once He has purged the land.”

Aedrianna retreated again, boots skidding as her heel caught on a shallow groove in the stone. Her free hand brushed the barrier behind her and recoiled as it refused her passage.

Her chest constricted as she realized just how trapped she was.

He circled her unhurriedly, hands folded neatly behind his back.

“But you see. I am what you call a connoisseur. You cannot consume something at its peak,” he continued conversationally.
“Not without ruining the flavor.”

A slight tilt of his head.

“Pride must be softened first. Broken down.”
“Tenderized.”

Her grip tightened inside the satchel.

“You're talking about killing people, Only monsters can think so hideously.” she spat, forcing steel into her voice.
“You should run now, before people start seeing you for what you really are.”

His laughter came again, richer this time.

“Leave?” he echoed. “No. This is the most important part.”

He stopped, and for half a heartbeat, everything was still.

Then he lunged.

The world snapped tight around her throat as his gloved hand closed there, fingers cold and unyielding. Aedrianna’s gasp tore free as her feet left the ground, satchel swinging wildly at her side.

“Go on,” he murmured. “Sing. Cry out for help.”

Pressure crushed her airway.

Stars burst behind her eyes.

Her fingers closed around glass.

With the last of her strength, she wrenched her arm free and slammed the vial upward. Not at the mask, but beneath it.

Glass shattered against the exposed line of his jaw and neck.

The potion detonated on contact.

A violent hiss filled the lane as translucent liquid frothed and burned, smoke curling instantly where it struck exposed skin. The reaction was immediate and vicious, eating into cloth and flesh alike with a sharp, acidic bite.

For the first time, he screamed, In pain.

His grip loosened reflexively.

Aedrianna tore free and dropped hard to the stone, lungs dragging in air as she scrambled backward on hands and knees. Her palms burned. Her throat ached. But she was alive.

Mana surged back into her like a dam breaking, rushing through her veins, into her fingertips, her throat, her voice. The familiar resonance bloomed all at once, dizzying and overwhelming.

She gasped, half in shock, half in relief.

The barrier surrounding the lane flickered violently, light fracturing across its surface in jagged lines. Only once the barrier had fallen, did Aedrianna see the others that had just entered the lane. A look of hope spreading across her face as she rose and started to try and run towards Edwin, Noelle and Brandy.

The impact came from below.

Fingers locked around her ankle, yanking her off balance as the world pitched sideways. Aedrianna hit the stone hard, breath driven from her lungs as she cried out, palms scraping painfully against the floor.

The masked man was on her in an instant.

He dragged her back with brutal force, one knee planting between her shoulders as she struggled. Something cold and heavy was wrenched from beneath his cloak and forced into her line of sight.

A medallion.

Its metal was dark, edges sharp, etched with a seven-pointed star that pulsed faintly with sickly light. The symbol throbbed as if alive, heat radiating from it in waves that made her head spin.

“Not yet,” he hissed, voice tight with pain and fury.
“You don’t leave before the lesson is finished.”
The small white-and-blue mana beast writhed in Noelle’s arms, agitation mounting by the second. Its body twisted sharply, paws scrabbling until it slipped free and landed on the polished stone with a soft thud. It immediately spun in tight, frantic circles, then darted forward to paw urgently at Edwin’s greaves.

A sharp whine escaped it.

It ran a few steps down the hall, stopped, looked back, and ran again.
There was no mistaking the insistence.

As they moved, the corridor opened into a broader concourse lined with projection panels. The screens replayed moments from the Exhibition in rotating sequences—combat slowed and reframed for spectacle. One panel caught Lane Three from above, the storm and shadow entwined in a striking visual contrast. Siren-song waves shimmered through necrotic lightning, the imagery unsettling and captivating in equal measure.

A few spectators lingered there, murmuring appreciation.
Another screen flickered.

Lane Seven.

At first glance, it appeared… dull.

A single blonde figure stood in the arena, posture low, unmoving. To any casual observer, it looked like the aftermath of an early elimination—someone left behind, stunned, or emotionally spent. The image invited disinterest. The eye slid off it without quite realizing why, attention tugged elsewhere by brighter colors and louder motion.

But the mana beast snarled, hackles rising.

For those who forced themselves to look again, the image sharpened just enough to reveal something wrong.

Aedrianna was not alone.

The projection stuttered, skipping a fraction of a second, then resolved the truth: another figure stood within the lane, his presence subtly distorting the image itself. The glamour did not erase him. It discouraged focus. Memory of him felt slippery, as though the mind resisted holding the shape of what it saw.

The mana beast bolted.

It led straight to Lane Seven.

Ahead of the others, a large, scarred catkin woman reached the arena’s edge first.

An invisible barrier shimmered faintly at the threshold, its surface rippling when approached before hardening again.
