Name: Mortimer Scharff Nickname: "Morti" or just Mortimer. Age: Actually, his age is unknown. It is only known by him, his crow and the principal. Gender: Male. Crush: He somewhat likes the Sparring Teacher, Aoi Shade, though he knows it's a platonic love. Relationship: Widower, quite a few times actually. Species: So much time has passed that Mortimer is not sure what he is. Originally a human, he acquired some sort of demonish powers, so it could be said he is a half-human, half-demon. Role: History Teacher. Appearance: Yes, I am totally aware it IS the same person as my profile pic, but it's also a character that I use a lot to RP.

Likes: Reading, spending time alone, whispering to himself, watching people grow and learn from him. Dislikes: Death (Explained below), evil people, humans or other beings constantly surrounding him, violence. Personality: He is a very shy person, though extremely intelligent. He is one very trust-worthy person, and true ally. History: Mortimer Scharff was born in England, in the 14th century. There, he was a simple gravekeeper, nothing too unusual. He was married to a beautiful woman named Austice. However, one day the corrupt lord of the lands where he and his wife lived ordered that they give him all their money due to them being bankrupt. He had hide it someway to the king, so he stole money from people to make it look as if he was rich. Mortimer totally denied it. The Lord, totally furious, stabbed his wife in the chest, piercing her heart. Mortimer was in shock. He couldn't believe. He kneeled before his wife and watched her die as the lord left. It seemed that he only wanted to cause pain. A sad irony was that he had to bury his own wife. Mortimer was totally depressed, until one day, when he was in his late 40s, a crow appeared in front of him. The crow actually spoke. He asked Mortimer if he wanted to see his wife again. Mortimer, totally perplexed, gave a pretty obvious answer: Yes. Knocked out and then waking up into what seemed a dream, he found himself in a pitch-black room. Walking forward he stumbled upon an ethereal, blue figure. It was actually his wife. Mortimer was overjoyed. He didn't know how much time he had spent with her. The two danced for what seemed an eternity, had an evening together. It seemed as it didn't matter that she was dead, the two were happy again. When they shared one last kiss, the ghost of Austice vanished instantly and the crow appeared once again. Mortimer couldn't believe she was gone again. The crow then told him that it was time to go back to reality. Before he could say no, the gravekeeper found himself......in a totally different place. 500 had passed. When he woke up, he was wearing a black top-hat, a black overcoat with a white suit beneath it and fancy shoes. Yes, he was dressed to the style of the time he had woken up. The crow, now revealed as Shadow, told him that he had died in order to see his wife, which explained why his skin was so pale. But that didn't explain the fact that his eyes were red. Shadow also explained that in the process, he had absorbed a bit of the demonish essence that was present in limbo, meaning that he was now tied to Hell in a way. He could live forever and no longer age, but he was forced forever to see everyone die before him without him being able to do something. He had to bear with those deaths, and since he was tied to Hell, he had to put them to rest in peace, just like a gravedigger. Shadow now stands the whole time in shoulder, having become his best friend, and just like him, he has witnessed tons of important people die before him, including numerous wives that Mortimer has had in the last 200 years. Schedule: None, just a teacher. Other: Mortimer controls the powers of shadow, he can make spirits appear at will and also control the shadows of his environment. He has what one could call "a high fear factor". Just looking at him when he's interrogating you makes you sweat and simply being around him causes chills in his students, but he's not a bad or an evil person after all.
