I have to bounce before I could really get to working on this, just a heads up I'm going to be making a female magic-based or energy-based character. So don't worry about another close combat character. Just not sure how I wanna sculpt her yet, I know the basic jist and such just nothing totally concrete. Being away from the computer will help me think of some good ideas.

That's fine. A few people are contemplating magic-based characters right now so a full on Metahuman would provide some versatility.

I should also point out that with his bow, tomahawk, and knives, SilverWolf also doubles as a mid range fighter.

Yes, but check the CS for some of my feedback on SilverWolf.

Are you okay with religiously inspired characters?

Yes those are fine. In this Universe, angels rub shoulders with beings like ancient gods and faerie queens so that should be alright.
Dblade, your character looks fine so far. I'm in the process of creating a CS for Pariah, this Universe's premier Batman-type but Strix is actually much different. Super-intelligence would probably be reserved for full-on Scientific heroes and muscle mimicry seems like it could be abused to easily solve problems. If you wish you could choose to have enhanced agility or reflexes or some-such but it is not required.

In your full sheet, you'll have to explain why he trained in martial arts and how he attained his aptitude for criminology and inventing along with his motivations for learning any of those.

Shanks, your basic character sheet has a few surface flaws that aren't much by themselves but taken together aren't quite up to snuff. First off I don't know why a native in Canada would have a japanese name, that just seems like you put that there to have a 'cool' name. If you want to have a native character, use a name that an aboriginal of Canada would have. Also Wahaya is the Cherokee name for a wolf so that doesn't really make sense. If you want to have a native character you gotta specify what tribe that character is from and be consistent with it. He also probably wouldn't be blond.

The idea that the US comes to him to train their soldiers seems like that's shoehorned in and doesn't make any sense. That detail can be omitted and nothing would really change. Keep in mind that he'll be fighting pretty formidable enemies and he probably shouldn't survive any one of those enemies since very few rely on only melee weapons. If he's supposed to be a fusion of the old ways and the modern world, equip him with more modern equipment so that he could plausibly survive. You'll have to more fully explain tactical insight and what that lets him do. And it seems like if he has some kind of "spirit" powers, you could get a lot more traction from those but that's just a suggestion. A spiritual bound to a wolf would also count as a power.

Also keep in mind that almost no Native tribes live the same way they did hundreds of years ago. They all are pretty much modernized so the idea in your bio that these Natives were entrenched in the 'old ways' comes off as stereotypical. You also have to plausibly describe how he met and befriended a wolf. Just fix those issues in your final sheet and you'll be fine.

Mat, I assume she's some kind of Spider-Man like hero and so far I am pleased with this haha.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Shanks, but hopefully this answers your question haha. I plan to give feedback on all characters.

Right, okay, I'll try and think something up.

Thanks, I look forward to reading. Don't stress out too much, this is meant to be fun after all :)

If it means anything, I'm currently planning out a magic knight type who'd more than likely have a ranged ability or two, but we'll see how that turns out. ^^;

I'm actually interested in seeing how that works out. I anticipate your sheet :)
Oh, I see. When you make your sheet, just make a moderate length and plausible sounding description of how that works. And I also would like to see some superpowers besides melee-type powers.
We're actually getting more badass normal type heroes than I anticipated, so I'll have to see what kind of skills your character possess as we already have a detective and gadget-inventor type. You'd have to iron out at least a plausible outline of how those gauntlets work and keep in mind that at close range, even non-lethal pellets could potentially kill somebody. Perhaps you could work out kind of concussive gauntlet?

I also would like more characters with powers, particularly ranged powers. Most of the guys I'm getting are close-quarters fighters and that's going to limit a lot of the teams overall fighting capabilities unless we get some more versatility. Perhaps you could play some type of blaster-like character, who projects some form of energy (it could be almost anything) in both lethal and non-lethal amounts like concussive or sonic force? That's only a suggestion and not a strict requirement however.
There's always room for more, and I'd love to have you. Thank you for your compliments, I've spent quite a few hours trying to put together this thread so hopefully I can provide a good basis for an awesome roleplay. Check out the CS thread if you want to post a character.
It's looking good so far, Asuras. I look forward to the finished product.

Today our concern must be with that future. For the world is changing. The old era is ending. The old ways will not do.

Abroad, the balance of power is shifting. New and more terrible weapons are coming into use. One-third of the world may be free, but one-third is the victim of a cruel repression, and the other third is rocked by poverty and hunger and disease. Friends have slipped into neutrality and neutrals have slipped into hostility.

The world has been close to war before, but now man, who's survived all previous threats to his existence, has taken into his mortal hands the power to exterminate his species seven times over. We stand today on the edge of a New Frontier --the frontier of unknown opportunities and perils, the frontier of unfilled hopes and unfilled threats.

Beyond that frontier are uncharted areas of science and space, unsolved problems of peace and war, unconquered problems of ignorance and prejudice, unanswered questions of poverty and surplus. But I believe that the times require imagination and courage and perseverance. I'm asking each of you to be pioneers towards that New Frontier. My call is to the young in heart, regardless of age -- to the stout in spirit.

For courage, not complacency, is our need today; leadership, not salesmanship. For the harsh facts of the matter are that we stand at this frontier at a turning-point of history. Can we carry through in an age where we will witness not only new breakthroughs in weapons of destruction, but also a race for mastery of the sky and the rain, the ocean and the tides, the far side of space, and the inside of men's minds?

Are we up to the task-- are we equal to the challenge? Or must we sacrifice our future to enjoy the present? That is the question of the New Frontier. That is the choice our nation must make-- between public interest and private comfort-- between the fresh air of progress and the stale, dank atmosphere of "normalcy"-- between determined dedication and creeping mediocrity.

All mankind waits upon our decision. A whole world looks to see what we will do. We cannot fail their trust, we cannot fail to try

- John F. Kennedy

The League is a Sci-Fi and Urban Fantasy roleplay centering around the newly arrived Superheroes and examines the effects of the Awakening on the World at large. The players and their heroes have to learn to work together and become the heroes they need to be in order to defend the world against super-powered criminal gangs, metahuman terrorists, malicious supernatural entities, shadowy secret societies and many many more. Their performance in missions will decide if the League becomes a successful organization or crumbles into failure. And the decisions the characters make, in and out of costume will determine the course of history for better or worse as they progress through a series of 'Arcs' each with their own unique challenges, enemies, and choices. This roleplay is meant to be a 'realistic' take on fantastical elements such as superpowers and magic, and examines what might really happen in our world if godly power was invested in certain individuals. Players will create their character and have them grow as people during the course of their adventures.

Players will build relationships, acquire new gear, evolve their abilities, fight all kinds of enemies, develop their character, and discover just how much the Awakening changed everything. With sufficient players multiple scenarios can be run at the same time and these can range from full on super-powered battles to discreet investigations to diplomatic ventures and many more. Recruitment is unlimited and more players are always welcome. Eventually after the thread becomes better established the players will be allowed to take on the roles of other kinds of characters, from vigilantes working outside the system to mercenaries looking for profit to soldiers serving the government and even to villains pursuing their own agendas. One of the main focuses of this thread is world-building and it is my hope that with the help of the players a vibrant and thriving universe can be formed.

I'm actually looking for at least one or two Sorcerer types to join the rp. Magic in this universe is somewhat grounded by the Laws of Science but is highly malleable. I'm thinking potential Sorcerer characters can create their own internally consistent magic system that is unique and not overpowered. If you're willing to try something like that, I say go for it. I trust players know that magic shouldn't be used to pull a solution to every problem out of their ass.
