Zealous, Yes that is perfectly possible. The Venice analogue is a former Imperium city in the Rose Marches and who's to say Othello did not have a son or other relatives? Most Shakespeare plays don't have any set chronology so really all of them could fit in this world. The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was an actual event for example and Lord Fortinbras holds the former lands of House Hamlet for the Empire among other things. You can play four characters at the same time so you could base another character off of that story as well.

As for the Alkebulan, as a whole the continent is an analogue to the real-world Africa. The Arabian Sultanate holds large portions of it, but faces rebellion from the local Hebrews and from Kemet where the Ancient Egyptian gods still hold sway. The Alkebulan is one of the last places where you can find the great lizards AKA Dinosaurs. The Sultanate's territories are also being attacked by the Empire who hold portions of the Northwest under Imperial control. And you could create a minor noble house to start with and again they must have some kind of story connection or origin.

Barioth, The roleplay will feature events occurring throughout Europa. Characters can visit Albion, Francia, Germania, the Frozen Sea, the Winterlands, the Riverlands, the Marches, the Draconian Islands, and many more places. The Imperial City of Dracolisk is where much of the intrigue occurs of course. Even foreign locations like the Rus, the Imperium, Oz, Wonderland, the Neverland Frontier, Liliputia, the Sky-Front, and the Alkebulan colonies can be visited if events draw your characters there.
I would prefer more players but we have the bare minimum to start and I will get to work on an OOC. I encourage anyone even slightly interested in this to give it a go however and the door is always open.
Of course, if you want to play renowned knights or high lords it's up to you. Just know that with increased power comes increased pressure and risk. And again your characters have to have some kind of grounding in a story that would fit in the universe. You can have up to four characters, and this is so that we have a wide scope in the game.

If anyone has any questions about any of the information feel free to ask and if you have any suggestions feel even more free.
Very good, do you have any idea what kind of characters you'd like to play?

I need at the minimum three or four roleplayers to start this up.
OOC is up
Hey there if any of you have a hankering for dark fantasy you've come to the right place. This roleplay will feature all your favorite story book characters and mythological figures in a world of magic, faeries, demons, monsters, and gods where life is a constant struggle for survival and dominance and words are as dangerous as swords or spells. This roleplay will have you playing your beloved fictional characters or those related to them and how they navigate their families and themselves through a conspiracy that threatens to kill millions.

You can engage in high-octane and fantastical combat, slink and sneak around for secrets, or wage war with words in this high-stakes game and your choices will determine if kings fall, cities burn, or loved ones die. You can be either the Knight in Shining Armor, or the Dark Lord, but by the end of this nobody will likely be clean and there will be the victors and the defeated.

This is not a happy fairy tale but a story filled with deception, betrayal, atrocity, scandal, seduction, brutality, and murder. Your own character may not die but sometimes there are things worse than dying. Problems can be solved however you wish but stupidity and blind action will likely find your character and their life in ruins rather than riches. Even magic has its limits and cannot solve every problem.

Setting

Europa- A wide continent that is made of the Western stories and traditions permanently etched in our collective consciousness. It is here that some of the most famous Tales live such as the Sleeping Beauty or Prince Charming. Historically, Europa was always a divided land and saw much violence. The Celtic, Slavic, and Olympian gods fought with each other and themselves for power along with the Faeries and other forces. It is where the main events of the roleplay reside. A few of it's major inner regions are

There you have it, but a small sampling of the characters available in this roleplay. You are allowed to play up to four and can control NPCs who are associated with your characters. There are more Houses based on ladies and lords of story and of course more famous commoners like Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Goldilocks. You are not limited there and you can play characters from basically any fairy tale, folk story, tall tale, nursery rhyme, and urban legend and even characters from classic plays, poems, and novels as long as they can fit in the setting.

You can also play those related to said characters such as the aforementioned Charming Brood and members of the Imperial Family that were not named. You can play anything from a random knight or even a commoner to a lord or lady who heads a family. Your character can also be a mythical creature or even perhaps a talking animal that is tied to the intrigue of the humans for some reason. Characters from the Rus, Europa, Oz, Wonderland, Neverland, or the Imperium can all be played and perhaps a few in other lands if their presence can be justified.

As long as the story is in the public domain it's free game to base a character out of and I might allow someone to play Mary Poppins or a Suess character if they really want to. If the character died in their story they remain dead but there are ways to continue their story with someone different. Maybe Grendel had a son before Beowulf killed him or maybe the Portrait of Dorian Gray passed to someone else.

When you imagine the tech setting think Assassin's Creed 2 or perhaps Dragon Age, the world is not industrialized yet but they do have advanced alchemy and machinery for such a world. And gunpowder is limited to cannons, explosives, and single-shot rifles but technology is advancing. Magic is common but not utterly ubiquitous like in classic fairy tales and again you can think of Dragon Age when it comes to how much magic can do.

Remember this is much darker version of all the tales in question and is meant to deconstruct classic cliches but is not meant to be completely grim-dark either. Sure it can get very Game of Thrones but it isn't totally hopeless and devoid of happiness. The tone of your biographies and posts should reflect this. There will be swearing, blood, guts, and mature themes like that. There will also be a lot of sexual intrigue like any good dark fantasy but it's all going to be implied and cut-to-black and not in-your-face.

The people you kill, the foes you defeat, the nobles you seduce, the monsters you slay, the alliances you create, the enemies you make, and every other choice or action you perform individually and as a group will determine the course of the roleplay and influence future iterations. The focus of the roleplay is as much on subterfuge, diplomacy, world-building, and character development as much as it as on epic duels and magical combat.

This roleplay is basically a mish-mash of the Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed, Avatar, Percy Jackson, the Elder Scrolls, Dishonored, the Dresden Files, and all the fairy tales, legends, classic poems, plays, and novels we've been talking about all into one miasma. If you're into any of that then you should definitely give this roleplay a try, the door is always open.

Anyone interested?
I am, don't worry. I too have been on vacation mode.
Crimson Fox laughed and started stepping back as she saw Shark forcibly extricate himself from the terminal, "Always thinking ahead Ray. Don't worry about me, I'm quick on my feet." Shark roared and charged at Fox. Fox stood her ground and stared the metahuman down until he was right on top of her, teeth flashing. Suddenly Fox ducked to the side and her claws left shallow furrows on Shark's side making him roar in pain. His pained screams turned into incredulous surprise as Fox turned her momentum to hop on Shark's back and ride him forward toward's the front section of the sub. She laughed out loud as she rode on Shark's back before twisting her legs around his neck. He tried to claw at her with his large arms but couldn't get the slippery hero in his gasp.

Shark kept moving forward while clawing for Fox while her strong legs kept constricting his windpipe. His struggling became more frantic but more weak until finally he slammed forward on the floor. Not wanting to kill the villain Fox unlocked her legs and allowed Shark to breath before pulling her legs back together to jump off of Shark's head while slamming a palm into the back of his head. As she leaped into the air she suddenly saw the floor rise to her face. Fox slammed a palm outward to stop her face hitting the deck and looked back to see the furious Shark grasping her ankle. His teeth bared but Fox kicked him in the snout with her free foot and his weakened grip allowed her to slip free.

Fox ran towards the front section of the sub as Shark got to his feet. Fox opened and closed the hatch shut just in time for Shark to slam into the door and dent the metal. It groaned but held fast. Fox spoke into the radio, "I seem to have made Shark angry Ray. But I'm clear, make your move." Fox spotted the exit hatch above her and climbed the ladder to made good her escape

Creeper nodded and stuffed the bombs haphazardly into a bag and strapped the gadget on as he slapped on another skin patch, changing back into Jack Ryder. Jack tied up all the guards and picked up a sub-machine gun. He consulted his map and began working his way throughout the estate, doing his best to avoid other patrols and placing the gas bombs discretely in several nooks and crannies. He made it four-fifths down his supply of grenades, so far so good. Hopefully their luck kept holding out. He kept walking along until he saw Doctor Spectro walking down a hall with an escort of six guards. Spectro was an inventor who created a suit that projected emotions and used it to commit crime. Ryder thought he could take the seven of them as Creeper. He telepathically thought Spectro and six others near my position. Opportunity to neutralize. How should I proceed?
Vibe guessed where Cindy was and grinned at the air, "Ready let's go." They found an elevator leading down into the sub-levels and Vibe cracked his knuckles as they descended. No telling what was going to be down there. They had to be ready for anything. It seemed like an eternity as they went further and further down into the earth. Cisco exhaled and felt his heart settle in his rhythm and he got ready to fight. Finally the doors opened and Vibe stepped out with hands raised. They found rocky halls with grey walls and stark white lighting. Not a soul in sight.

Vibe whispered, "This isn't creepy." There were several branching paths and Vibe couldn't hear anything. But there was something.... off. Everything was strange. The very air seemed to reverberate with a strange energy. Cisco was incredibly unnerved and he spoke into the radio, "Ok we're down here Sandy. No sign of hostiles. Or anyone. Multiple paths. Advise. I don't think we're alone down here." Vibe felt like he was being watched. He saw nothing.
