Welcome. I do too, the Files were a big inspiration for the RP.
Well elves are basically a type of faerie, for background I mainly drew from Shakespeare for my depiction of Faeries. Basically in the RP, Oberon is the most powerful Fae alive and overlord of all Faeries but is usually uninvolved in politics. Under him are his two also very powerful wives who are more active. Titania who leads the Summer Court, made of the "nicer" Fae and Mab queen of the "meaner" Winter Court. Oberon's marriages to both stablize relationships between the Courts but both are still engaged in duplicitious and backstabbing politics. Elves, Orcs, and Dwarves among others are offshoots of the Fae and are usually autonomous but are still alinged with either court. You could use any folk lore or fairy tale for inspiration buts its perfectly valid for your character to be a mostly OC Elf. And half breeds are posible. The section on House Rose mentions their alliance with an Elf Nation, perhaps your character can be from there and a companion of the Sleeping Beauty?
Well anyone who still has a sheet pending, just re-post. Hopefully not that things are working we can get back on track. LeeRoy is doing particularly well with a map
Bing, smurffs I'm thinking..... maybe. There are so many little people races really and they don't really fit the "classic" aesthetic I'm trying to go for. And as this is a darker rp I'm not sure they'd fit tonally either, I mean you could darken most fairy tale creatures but not smurffs without being ridiculous.

Hobbits, they can definitely exist. They'd be a pastoral European society that basically showed no resistance to the Drake invasion.

Caits, Great can't wait to see what you got.
Caits, I'd welcome your presence happily. Sign-ups are never closed so feel free to join.

Zealous, Well if anyone as any facilitation with drawing I could give them an overview. I myself am a piss-poor artist xD A real world map would give you a rough idea, the Terran analogue landmasses are somewhat larger with extra pieces but generally the geography is similar to reality.

Patriarch, the sheet looks to be progressing fine. I know little of Slavic mythology so it should be a good read when you're done.
Everyone who was interested, the OOC is up and running and we can always use more players so if you read the intro and are even a little interested please give the thread a try.
If there is justification in their stories or a logical continuation of their stories then yes as I did with many of my own NPCs
Trust me I would love to do that but the tone of this rp is very medieval-esque and involving the New World kinda takes away from that and is beyond the scope of the current storyline.

Now the next thread I'm planning for a time skip to a steampunkish world with both industrial technology and magic and features American fables just like you suggested. The state of which is determined by events in this roleplay
Oh kemosabe, its good to see you :)

I'm sorry yours didn't work out, you're an excellent player and I would've liked to participate. I'll definitely try out your next one however. Thank you for your interest, you're always welcome in my threads.

Any thoughts and ideas you'd like to share?
deadpixel, Very well he is accepted. I'd just change his occupation to be part of a general mage college not one of necromancy. That'd be like having a bomb making or hacking majors :p

Patriarch, like I said in the OP you can adapt any mythology, folklore, or fairy tale, even classic works of literature like Shakespeare's plays, old novels, or poems even nursery rhymes or urban legends. If you've ever played the Wolf Among Us that should give you a good measure of what you can adapt here.

There are no hard and fast rules. The three main guiding principles are that magic should not be something that let's you solve every problem instantly, that they don't completely obliterate the laws of science, and that it should cost you something to use. As long as your power isn't a game breaker and you be careful about god-modding you should be fine.
