I think we might be miscommunicating a little bit.

Maybe, because I don't know if I'm actually answering the question.

I just meant one of the ways being a master of one can be bad.

Love being a way it can be bad? I'm sure in some context or another, but not usually.
I just got rick rolled in 2018. Searched "fortnite theme" and ended up clicking a song that said "fortnite theme" but when it played, the song pulled up and was titled "isis theme song" and that's the story of how I'm pretty sure I'm on a watchlist now.

Love is bad here?

No, it's just an emotion strong enough to generate extreme dedication.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

What are some of the other reasons you've seen?

Just about any feeling of passion can cause it. Love, greed, anger. You name it.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

I'm just not understanding what the different kinds are.

I was just saying that people do it for different reasons, but I respect people who can dedicate themselves like that.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

What makes them different from the ones who become a master at one thing?

I'm just talking about the different kinds of people who become a master at one thing. I'm not talking about anyone else.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

They're different?

Some do it because they enjoy it, some because of what they get from it, among other reasons.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

I know a lot of people who dedicate their lives to one thing.

They do, and for different reasons. I have respect for those kinds of people.
<Snipped quote by Multifarious>

Unless you're maybe a master of one and good at the rest.

You can be a master of a lot. That's a thing i think people overlook a lot.
