Aurum town, built some centuries ago, now grows and thrives as a trading town with its location being prime to its purpose: situated just on the edge of a water body that brings in ships with goods and eager traders. Also connected to the mainland, and located near other to-note destinations makes the town no small place. A city in its size, though perhaps not recognised yet, the town brings together many races in its cultural center, and they have learnt to come to accepting terms of each other for the most part, despite the occasional disagreement. With resources like forests and caves littered across in the vicinity that tempt the residents to come and take, bountiful and benevolent as the gods they serve, it's no wonder it's so popular and 'hip' in its time.
But our story isn't set in this town. Just a little bit away, really.
Not too far away from this happy, bustling little trade-town lies a mighty guild, welcoming to all those who set eyes on the intricate iron gates, ever open, ever warm. The mosaic path beyond leading to the building is to be admired: creams and blues and burnt siennas lighting up the area and glinting when they catch the sun's light. Forests nearby keep the guild under the coverage it needs to be safe, and to provide its members with some challenge. Some adventure, as it were. Caves can be a particular favourite.
Though there comes an occasion where a team is sent far off, outside their comfort zone, to explore what we call a 'dungeon', or a 'labyrinth'. Obviously open to any fool who wishes to try, newbies are sent to the guildmaster's particular favourite to show off their skills, and complete her request. With her eyes and ears ever present in the walls, she learns of the ability of the team, as to set them challenges in the future that they'll rise to.
Our story is set here, in this guild, with three very unlikely people. With three very unexpected fates. Destined to meet in a very unexpected place, and continue to venture in places forth that their greatest dreams and desires couldn't have imagined.

I thought it would have been a good idea to assign someone as a right-hand to keep track of tags. But then...wouldn't they have to read every RP and then tag accordingly? That would be such a pain!
As for assigning them as pre-genned like...you know on YouTube when it gives you suggestions in buttons when tagging a video you upload? Like, just under the "enter your tags here" bar, there are like little suggestions according to the title of the video (in this case, title of RP). So if my RP was called "Fall of the Ninja Empire" (Using your example, @Code Guru!) then the generated tags would be "fall", "empire", "ninja" and then words that might relate.
Does this even make sense to anyone? Someone needs to upload a video and come and confirm if we can even do something like that.
And I'm really looking forward to this whole tag system.

I thought it would definitely be an issue of how many subdivisions and whatnot, is why I was a little sceptical about posting this. But hey, I'm glad the team could do something to clear my doubts on it. So the subdivisions are all based on like, a certain way to explain what goes on there? Like, you said for nation RP, it's a bit of a generalisation to say that it involves nations and political conflicts dealt with in a manner, etc.

I really don't know whether I should keep making new threads or just add things to the sticky one. (Congratulations on getting to it, Mahz!)

I don't remember where, but I did come across someone saying that it was difficult to find RPs in a particular section that weren't based on the characters of some movie or some game, that it wasn't their interest in RPs like that.
I think I had the same problem, especially looking in the Advanced section (shame on me if there's stuff I've overlooked since the last time, ahaha.)
And I did read the sticky post again. And I didn't find anything like this there, maybe because it's such an integrated part of RPGuild...but I wouldn't know. I haven't been here since Oldguild and all.
Anyway. I actually think I'd really appreciate the spin-off tab to just be there for RPs that take place in an already existing world, or are uncanon in a canon setting (EG, something from Game of Thrones where you might have to sign up to play Canon characters but takes a completely different storyline, or where Canon charas are played by the GM and you make extra ones.)

Motivation's been lacking on my end too sadly. Darned holidays, always give me the wrong motivation at the wrong time and then it's usually "do at this very moment" or it's lost forever.

I come back to like, more than three pages of an argument (I DID READ, THANK YOU VERY MUCH). And I can't decide which side I take. Though if I can strengthen my proposal, pls put all students in same class or same area so interactions are more frequent.

As a teacher of healing, I think I'll be spending a lot of time learning from you two myself, hah. ^^ Though I did indeed keep in mind that patching up something always has a chance of not being the right way and the wound opening again somehow, or not getting healed as per what one wants.
Wow hurrah for rushing into a healer role with minimal knowledge.
Though I intend to study medicine further as well. It'd be nice to gain a little bit of knowledge here before diving into anything head-first, you know?

EDIT: As unrealistic as it is, why not have all the students attend the same classes at the same times? It would give all the students a chance to interact, in some way, shape or form. It's difficult to set up a school system where everyone's interacting otherwise. We could make it a coincidence, they all were registered to whatever subjects. And of the elite ones, well, the others could stand outside and watch as since they weren't good enough, they were granted a free period. Or something...would make it easy, in my opinion, albeit not a standard school atmosphere.
Also, I'll probably post tomorrow, since I'm a bit busy today (sorry to leave magic students hanging, but do find your way to the survival class and hang around...somehow!) and it's the last da before mid-term break!
