Glad it worked for you. If your laptop still gets really hot, fiddle around with it a little more. Just don't let the Maximum amount the processor can run go under 50% (it'll be pretty slow then). Messing around with the game (in this case, LoL) and its graphics usage will help.

If you have everything set to "Low" and stuff, try decreasing the resolution of the game. That too, helps.

EDIT: It can also be your internet connection. If every animation is fluid, your FPS is fairly high, but things just move unnaturally, it's the connection.
