Data is tanklike. He has very little magic, no ranged weapons and a body made of metal, along with a two handed broadsword, an overdrive that multiplies his strength by five, another that lights his arm on fire, and a swordhidden in his arm ala Edward Elric.

That's good news to hear that there's a slightly tanky character.
On another note, I think Macbeth is the only character of mine to actually excel severely in group battles and be noticeably less experienced in duels. Really weird now that I start thinking over it, but I guess that's just one of his unique quirks.

Also, I am freakin' JAMMING to this song! So old, but so groovy.

Definitely not on the Athalia side. I don't know how many of our villains you'd classify as tanks but I don't think we have a single tank student, unless Bedivere counts as one.

Bedivere got scrapped by my request to AAA, remember?

I could send Dani over to discover the ruins, he's not doing much of anything at the moment.

We got one candidate! :D

I posted as Drow some time ago... it wasnt much just waiting a bit for Beasty to post. I can do stuff when Beasty posted so just bare with me that Beasty can actually think of something to reply with

Is this the part where we spam "BEASTBEASTEASTBEASTBEAST (x10000000000000000)"?
(stupid double post)

Also that. In a universe with supernatural abilities and abundant firearms, I feel like the katana is much more suitable than an unmodified broadsword.Guardian type users with massive staffs/spears/etc. are one of my favorite things. I just haven't had a need to make one in this RP, especially since it's more about supernatural abilities than traditional weapons (which is probably why we don't have that many kinds). None of my characters with abilities have weapons of any sort, but Vikki does because she has no abilities.I didn't know about the naginata before I just looked it up. That's pretty sweet.

Naginatas are on the extremely offensive side, which comes with the great price of having nothing else to use for defense. Mix it with spells, and you can come up with crazy crap thanks to the extreme length of the weapon.

...Now that I think about it, we don't have that many "tanks," do we? I'm getting a feeling that Macbeth is going to have an extremely easy time fighting in group battles if you take his Cold Flux into consideration. He's immensely tanky and has anti-magic priorities if he's near three people. o_O
Liferusher, you should post as Drow!! Darvvin is waiting! :ooooooooo

I don't have any angel characters.I go with katanas without exception for a number of reasons.1) Katanas are beautiful. I don't find straight swords nice to look at unless the hilt is really ornate, and honestly I don't find European curved swords good to look at either.2) Katanas are generally fast, agile and precise. That's what I like. I know there are straight swords that can be, but when I think of straight swords I think of big, burly broadswords wielded by tank-type users. When considering a character of that type I generally prefer massive staffs to swords, so there isn't really a situation where I'd use a broadsword.3) I love everything Japanese. When making Vikki I actually looked up different Japanese swords to use in place of a katana but didn't find any I liked as much.

Katanas have a reputation of being one of the stronger blades in the older times, after all. Personally, you would usually pick a katana over a broadsword because the single-edged blade is just so much better at doing its job than the relatively blunt broadsword. Broadswords were mainly good at forcefully bashing apart armor and roughly cutting stuff up, while katanas were superior in terms of cutting edges because of how it was used, not because of it was made.

Still, I'm wondering why no one came up with a lance/spear/naginata weapon user. I lovelovelove the naginata because it's basically a freaking sword attached on a spear's handle.

EDIT: I still think Sabers are the best blades in history. So freaking overpowered.
I made this in about forty minutes. Finally got the time to jump into photobucket and share it.

I think it's a little darker than what I usually draw. Decent job, I guess. (ima get working on that Dark Knight Matt soon)

There are stjll a lot of things you can do with a hooked scythe that you can't do with a straight scythe. For instance, if it's strong enough it can be used to enhance your mobility in places like forests and areas with overhead beams and such

You're correct: hooked scythes provide more utility, which is why it was generally favored over straight scythes back when they were used in agriculture back in the older days. When the farm-use tractors did not exist, farmers needed to cut crops with scythes. The hook let them perform many other tasks with just a single piece of equipment, which slightly cut them some slack.
The only angel character I ever made is the one I'm making atm. And yes, there are so many katanas. I originally intended on giving Ryuu (who had a totally different concept and a totally different name with a totally different background and a totally different personality before he was made here) a pair of katars because those claw knives are freaking awesome.

Maybe I should make Ryuu wield a pair of giant plasma scissors, wear a horrifyingly revealing outfit and scream like a woman in one of the funnier arcs.

On another note, I decided to go with a scythe. I figured there are some really interesting things I can do with that thing- as long as it's not a regular scythe used to reap farmlands.
