Mab smiled at Rose. If they had to pick, showing up earlier seemed like the better move; catch whoever wrote these letters off guard. They didn't trust people by nature, especially when they had material information that they didn't. "I'd rather go sooner than later, I'm not sure I totally trust these people, and whatever these people want from us, I'd like to have the element of surprise. Just in case." They knew that could make them sound crazy, but hopefully Rose knew Mab well enough to understand their paranoia.

Speaking of paranoia, they didn't like the idea of looping other people into this, but they weren't about to stop Rose from sharing anything. "I guess that's fine, she's somebody you trust?" Rose wasn't stupid, so Mab doubted she'd share anything with somebody she wasn't particularly close with. "You have your job to do, I could move over their and fill her in for you if you'd like." They offered. This served two purposes. For one thing, it would be a favor to Rose, and for another, it would like Mab control the flow of information.

He wanted to tell Demetri wasn't his fault, but he didn't know enough to say that. Whatever had happened, he couldn't be near it. Reality felt wrong, like something was just broken and couldn't be fixed. This wasn't how things were supposed to be, but it was the way they were. He'd never felt real grief before, and this was burning him up inside; he knew not how to react, nothing having prepared him for this. The world tuned out to him, not being able to process things how they were.

Until, that is, Andy ran off. He found himself running after her. He didn't need Dem right now, he needed somebody who was feeling the same pain he was. The feeling of being lost and afraid in a new world, and having one of your closest friends ripped away. If he knew were Des was, he might've found her, but he was acting on impulse right now. Thought was something he wasn't capable of right now, reason being far behind him. Stopping at the door of her cabin, he followed in after her, tear streaming down his face without restraint now. Normally, he wouldn't knocked and asked to come in, but that was beyond him. He simply looked at Andy, almost whimpering, "How can she be g-gone?"

On his third official day, things were coming along nicely for Oliver, kind of. He'd finally started to get settled into his room for one, being mostly unpacked at last. This process had been significantly slowed down by the fact that he'd been tasked with a seemingly insurmountable job as one of his first assignments: getting a secret Santa gift for somebody he knew almost nothing about. Thankfully, through his endless amounts of determination and attention to detail, he'd come up with the perfect gift for his new coworker, which was sitting on his desk, wrapped, and ready to go. Everything seemed to be just right for Christmas time; Oliver was even wearing a classic ugly Christmas sweater to make everything perfect.

Plucking it from where it laid, Oliver tucked it beneath his arm, ready to place it under the tree. He'd yet to get to know the others living here, something that he was sure would be fixed soon enough. It was Christmas, after all, and even he had to take a break from working once in a while. Stepping out of his quarters, and walking to the common room, he'd decided now was the time to place his gift under the tree. What he was not prepared for, was Raynor being there in a Santa Claus outfit. Breaking out into a smile, he let out a mirthful laugh, before setting it under the Christmas tree. Waving to the others in the room, he felt a bit awkward, unsure of quite what to say. Finally settling on the rather obvious default, he merely said, "Well, I can see the Christmas spirit truly is here," lightly nodding his head toward Raynor Claus.

Mab nodded at Rose, the fact that they both had gotten the same letter was surprising to say the least, especially given that they both had grown up without their parents. Something suspicious was going on, but they had no earthly idea what it could be. "I'm glad I have a friend like you." They said, smiling at Rose. It was rare for Mab to be as candid as that, but these were rare times, and now would be the time to express such things.

Mab simply smiled and nodded at Rose's last remark, looking forward to food. If anything could make them feel better right now, it'd be that. Dealing with problems on an empty stomach never worked out well for them, and they had some time to wait for Rose to get off shift anyway. That was a good chunk of the day they had to account for, one way or another, and they sure as hell weren't going to that park alone. They considered they might head around town, see if there was anything to do.

Arthur nodded at Allanah. He should've figured that, a part of him wondered then, if they were children of the gods, whether or not there were children of Primordials. He was about to ask about that, when Demetri moved the topic back to training. "Well, I don't have my dagger on me right now, we'd need to borrow one fro the armory or run back to the cabin." Just about as he finished this, Andy had rejoined them, sans Ash. About to ask about his missing sister, he stopped dead as Andy explained.

Not totally processing that, he started initially in disbelief. She... couldn't be serious. She wouldn't joke about this though, surely. He felt numb, that wasn't something his brain could handle. "But. How?" Were the only two words he could force out of his mouth. He felt frozen in indecision, wanting to run to confirm this, but desperately wanting to escape this, to hide in his room and not let people see him break down. His eyes closed, face twitching as he attempted to keep himself from crying, his eyes closed tight, as he covered his face from view.

Mab looked on as Rose walked away from their table after dropping that bombshell. They had gotten the same letter? That was odd to say the least. What could it be, they wondered, that could cause this? One of the few people's in their lives had gotten a letter on the same day telling them to go to the same park. Looking after their friend, they anxiously waited for them to return and explain more.

Taking the cup from their friend, Mab held it in their hands, feeling the bright warmth against their almost shaking hands. "That's rather odd isn't it?" If she had gotten the same letter as Mab, she might be as put off as Mab was. The whole tone of it all was burningly ominous, and that alone made it Mab unwanting to go alone. "Honestly, if anything, it's luck we both received one, I wouldn't want to visit that park alone." They smiled, wanting to see what Rose's thoughts on the matter were.

Arthur felt as if Demetri was condescending towards him at first, and didn't much appreciate that. He understood it was coming from a place of experience, him having been aware of his demigod-hood a lot long that Arty had, but it still irked him. Nevertheless, he wasn't one to turn down assistance from somebody who actually knew what they were talking about. As such, he nodded curtly, saying, "I'd appreciate that, thanks." and tacking on, "I'll make sure to have it from now on, for sure."

He gave a surprised look at Andy, and realized that, indeed, Ash had been left behind from the group. "Alright, you know where to find us." He knew Ash could take care of herself, and they both didn't need to run back to get her. In the meantime, Demetri had said something that confused him a little bit. "I'm sorry, what exactly is a Primordial?" as far as his personal studying had brought him, that was out of scope for hih. It certainly was a cool name, and something he very much wanted to hear about.

Here we go kids.

Mab was startled as Rose came up to talk to them, being totally absorbed in thought. Quickly folding up the letter, and throwing it into their purse, they blinked for a few moments, trying to come up with words to say. "I don't-" They started, about to explain that they didn't, in fact, own a cat. Shaking their head, they restarted. "I just got a letter is all, and it's upsetting." They didn't want to say too much, as the reasons for their concern would be no doubt confusing to Rose. After a moment, they drained their cup of tea, before nodding, "And more tea would be very very nice."

Clearing their throat for a moment, they continued to say, "When you get off work, if um." They struggled for a moment, not normally liking to be dependent on people like this, but this was something they honestly didn't think they had the strength to do alone. "If you're free, I gotta go to Oak Park. Would you mind joining me?" They asked in a tone they didn't often use. It was soft, vulnerable. This entire thing had thrown them off in a serious way. "And um... Yeah food sounds really good too," they said, trying to drag their mood back up, "Just the usual, french toast and bacon." A morning like this deserved comfort food, and that was exactly what they were going to throw into their body.
