So. How many characters are left to post their intro before we get this show on the road?
So yea, I'm thinking that having Grenade in the same squad as I would probably be a pretty decent idea.
Slow, deep breaths. Slow, deep breaths. Henry stared up at the ceiling, or perhaps it was the floor. It was always difficult to tell the orientation of the rest of the base while he was in the zero G training room. There was something about being weightless that just made Henry feel at home. While most Landers took nearly a week to become comfortable with zero gravity, it was as if Henry was born into it. Henry had a couple of weeks off from his last assignment on the light cruiser Calgary. His next assignment was to be on the newly Christened Vigilance. It was quite an honor to be selected for this new behemoth of a ship. Somehow he didn't feel he was quite good enough to be selected for this mission. Although his service record was outstanding - aside from several sealed formal reprimands, he still had the feeling that he had pissed off enough officers that nobody else wanted him on their ship or base.
Henry looked down - or up - at his watch. Just as he did he heard the call over the PA system, "All registered personnel to Unit Code 32-97-42 report to Hanger Bay Alpha. The Vigilance is now making final preparations for departure."
Henry smiled and whispered, "Good timing." He reached down to his hip and pressed a small button, causing a short gust of air to push him towards the nearest wall, ceiling or floor. Turns out it was a ceiling. Henry spun himself around and planted his feet on the ceiling before pushing off towards the door. Henry landed and walked with the momentum out the door, the sudden intrusion of normal gravity was something he was quite used to. Henry nodded to the nearby pfc on guard and went into his locker. He had everything prepared, and most of his gear and a few personal effects was stowed into a large duffel bag. Henry threw it over his shoulder and winced at the weight.
He made his way towards Hangar Bay Alpha, seemingly unnoticed by just about everyone. The fortress was just as busy as it always was. Nearby a small squad of landers were doing laps around the base followed closely by what appeared to be a drill sargeant. Henry scoffed, looks like one of the kiddies had pissed off some power-drunk officer. Henry was stopped at the entrance to the hangar for the typical security check. After standing in line for a few minutes he reached the front of one of 6 lines. He placed the duffel bag on the counter and produced his identification. A few scans and some questions later he entered the Hangar, where numerous Navy and Landers had already arrived
This RP dead or what?
Hey, would you mind letting us know what the setting for the intro post will be like so we can start writing it?
I guess I've finished editing my CS.
Additionally I've noticed that my character is the only one that isn't a commissioned officer.
Full Name: Henry "Wretcher" Fletcher
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Branch of Service: FSA "Landers"
Rank: Chief Warrant Officer 3
Military Occupational Specialty: Combat Engineer specializing in ship systems and armed drones.
Callsign: Hat Trick
Appearance:

Personality: Henry has a problem with authority. He often feels that many officers don't deserve to command him. He especially has a problem with Naval Officers, quoting, "Landers do the dying, Navy just does the flying." Although Henry has no formal education, he is very intelligent, and takes every opportunity to show up the superior officers, which explains why he hasn't been promoted in a while. He enjoys working with his hands, and will often spend time tweaking his drones. He's a capable leader, but tends to step on too many toes.

Biography: Henry had a fairly normal childhood, did well in school, had a few friends, nothing out of the ordinary except for his hacking and mechanical ability. However, instead of going to get an education as his family wanted him to do, he went straight into the military at age 18. Right away they had him pegged for a tech specialist. During his first official boarding simulation he made the navy re-think their security protocol for secondary systems, like gravity controls. Henry was largely responsible for the single fastest time of taking over a ship in simulation, as within a minute he was able to reverse the orientation of gravity, incapacitating most of the crew almost instantly. He earned his first promotion to warrant officer shortly thereafter. However, his attitude towards superior officers (often believing them to be inferior men or women) has really put a stopper on his climb through the ranks. During his years of service he earned the nickname "wretcher" from his tendency to cause many of the landers to vomit from the repeated change in gravitational orientation on ships he boards.

It could go either way. "Marine" Corpsman are part of the US Navy but operate with US Marines and for all intents and purposes are considered marines. This tech specialist may be part of the Navy and operate with Landers as part of a specialized unit, or he could just be a Lander himself. Because of the Lander's vast training in ship technology, I would probably consider him a Lander, especially if he is conducting combat roles on a daily basis, but I will leave the final decision up to you.Reversing gravity on a ship suddenly wouldn't really knock anyone unconscious. Maybe if they were in a full sprint and the zero gravity made them collide violently with a wall, but otherwise it wouldn't do much. Bullets and grenades would travel forever with no drop off, enemy soldiers would have a little trouble orienting themselves but overall it could make things more complicated for Landers rather than doing anything useful. If there was a makeshift barricade on a ship zero gravity would disperse it I suppose. Just my two cents. Now what would be useful, is if this specialist could rework the gravity so that he could make the gravity pull from different orientations. For example, he could disable gravity then make it so the ceiling is now the gravity point, sending everyone flying into the ceiling and the Landers would now be fighting upside down, (Though gravity would be pulling on them as well so he would have to take that into consideration. The human body doesn't like being upside down.)

That's kind of what I meant. I guess reversing gravity wasn't the right word. I meant that the ground suddenly becoming the ceiling and gravity acting accordingly would cause anyone not strapped in to fall on their heads. I guess I could have said reversing the polarity of gravity, but yea, definitely meant changing orientation.

I was kind of leaning towards Landers as well.
If I wanted a character who was a boarding specialist would you consider him part of the Landers or the Navy? Although my character would be quite capable of taking control of systems of a ground base, he specializes in ship systems. Basically my character's favorite tactic is to reverse anti-gravity on ships, often multiple times, thereby knocking at least several crew personnel unconscious. Anyone (and anything) who is not strapped in or magnetized is going for a ride. Naturally he'd tell the rest of the landers to activate their magnetic boots or whatever they have.
I guess it didn't post. I'm interested as well.
