What would the abilities be limited to? I mean, I get the idea their based on chemical elements, but does that mean the abilities are only those that have some sort of relationship to their physical properties, or would esoteric powers be allowed too?

So, we would play characters with powers directly based off of the properties of the Chemical Elements, like Hydrogen, Mercury, Uranium, etc. Figuring out what to do with their abilities in this world. It would take place in the modern era, with characters from any walk of life, now finding themselves either coming to terms with long time abilities or discovering new ones.

Personality: Peridot is very much a ruthless being. She follows her orders with little concern for who or what she might hurt or kill in the way. She has absolutely no problem killing or destroying anyone or anything that gets in her way. She is also very intelligent, and understands the advanced technology of her people very well.
Abilities/Weapons: Peridot has complete mastery of a variety of advanced gem technology at her disposal, including seemingly limitless marble android drones, a weapon that can disrupt the physical form of energy based beings (but is worthless on organic life), access to EMP bombs to destroy and/or disable any technological constructs around her, and the use of an integrated touch pad in her hand. Like all gems, Peridot is capable of shapeshifting, and can retreat into her gemstone to heal when badly injured.
Backstory: Not much is really known about Peridot. She appears just to be a technician, dealing with the more advanced tech that common people have no time to bother with.

Personality: Alessandra is a socially backward, rude, analytical scientist. She is bad at socialization, rambles on about topics only she cares about and requires absolute perfectionism in everything she does. This can make her somewhat insufferable, but putting up with her can pay off. Due to her high attention to detail, Alessandra is capable of picking up on minute pieces of information that others would see as worthless. If, and I stress *if*, you can get her to like you; there is no one more loving and caring than Alessandra. For the most part, however, its best just to let her work. Don't be surprised to see her making notes in her journal or drawing a picture of some new herb she spotted on the adventure.

Physis was awestruck by the festival. As a being who had only known trees and plains, the powerful fireworks drew the attention of the oddly lifeless eyes of the otherwise lush and youthful being. Indeed, the Island was quite alluring for them, Physis taking in the vibrant livelyness of her surroundings, both in the rush of people and the flourishing of nature. It was an intoxicating aura. Still, Physis was a bit uneasy with the fast pace of those around her. They couldn't recall ever having experienced anything even close to this. Still, it was a good time they though, picking up a discarded candy apple and biting into it. There was still a good amount of apple flesh and candy left on it. They smiled as they walked though the crowd, munching on the secondhand treat (though they couldn't understand why anyone would throw away and just ignore a perfectly edible fruit), their mushroom print dress swaying in the wind. Physis made their way back towards the wild before noticing someone. He looked to be smiling about something as he walked up the nearby hill. Physis walked after him, curious about him.

My own OC, based on the song "Aguas de Março"

Personality
A totally innocent and childlike figure. Since their rebirth, Physis doesn't appear to remember much of anything from their previous life; existing purely as a curious being exploring nature and marveling at it. As they are mostly feral, Physis is prone to aggression when provoked, and not at all afraid to attack those who they see as a threat. That being said, Physis is not totally wild, they still can speak perfectly, and are capable of higher reasoning and self awareness like any human. Physis is afraid of water, as their body was sunk in a river before being reborn.

Powers & Abilities
Physis is capable of detecting lifeforms around them, and to a limited extent is able to influence the growth of life around them, or encourage life to flock to their presence. Physis appears to be functionally immortal and eternally youthful in their current state. If hurt, Physis will attempt to sap out lifeforce from something via a deep bite. The result is Physis recovering from her wounds and leaving her victim feeling as if they had been exposed to a horrible poison. She is very strong and durable from her life of living in the wild and chasing animals.

Likes & Dislikes
As previously stated, Physis is a deathly afraid of deep bodies of water, but loves water in the form of rain or spray from a hose. They have a great love of birds and animals in general, often making foxes flock around them. Flowers and mushrooms are of great interest to them, with flowers sprouting up in their hair and the strange mushroom printed dress that Physis found themselves dressed in upon reawakening.

Occupation/Hobby
Physis is mostly a wandering being, much like a nature sprite or a fae. They will wander around the Island observing nature and animal life, particuarly birds, fish and foxes.
