Some obscurity is fine. From what I gather from your post, the setting seems to be dark low fantasy. So, I would like to know how the world is currently functioning (governments, settlements, cultures, cults, etc.), how magic functions (if it's present at all), and races in the world.

The Blighted Kingdom

I don't think all the characters have to have completely different skills. We're not focusing on combat or boss battles like we would in a traditional game like D&D; we're telling a story. Characters having similiar skills can be a good thing and give them a common thread to bond over and converse about. Also, the characters may not all wind up in the same traveling group.
