Ayaka understood that her new friend didn't want to, but then seemed to have suddenly changed her mind. As annoying as he is being at the moment, Ayaka decided they should as well. He did after all arrive after them so may not know everyone here got arrived in much the same way. She raised her hand to let Lady Violetta know that her and Mystique were willing to help.

Ayaka wanted to volunteer because that's how she was, but this new guy was already annoying her. He was what she thought of as 'one of those obnoxious people.' Well at least that was her first impression anyway. She looked over at Mystique as if to ask 'Should we volunteer to help catch him up?' To be honest, Ayaka was unsure about the idea.

Ayaka saw Jak sitting and reading while eating his pizza. She decided to just wave at him instead of getting up to talk to him. Not only was she already with Mystique, but since Lady Violetta called this a lecture, she wasn't sure she was allowed to do that. She wasn't even sure he saw her waving at him or not.

The whole thing seemed overwhelming, though. It was one of those too much information all at once, but the headmistress had to have a good reason for introducing this to them on day one. She made it clear they should pick their career as soon as possible and the sooner the better. Nothing but exploration seemed to interest her.

After raising her hand with a question she asked, "What independent study courses would be good for exploration?"
