Shouyou Tenma

A research facility by the Akechi... A man clad in a kimono was lost in thought with only the sound of a vehicle to keep his mind company. He's familiar with those types of buildings, but the confusing thing is how the Rikimaru found it and why they're going after it. He can theorize all he wants, but there's no conclusive evidence to deduce the truth.

The mission Shouyou and others were hastily gathered for has the man slightly worried. All missions carry the risk of death, but Shouyou refuses to send anyone to the afterlife. He has a pipe dream that this situation can be diffused without fighting, but he's expecting an unfortunate fight. Plus, they were given permission to use all the force they feel is necessary. He sighed with a frown before speaking lightly.

"The Rikimaru Family is already raising tensions on the city. Since there's no need to increase that any further, would it not be best to use nonlethal means to take them down?" Shouyou is blind to the reason why the Rikimaru's doing this.

This was supposed to be a nice retirement for him where he could be free to pursue anything he wanted in life. A peaceful journey to a satisfactory end, yet the government interfered in that and now the Rikimaru family is the reason why he's being called back to a battlefield where there are only people. To say he's disappointed wouldn't be wrong. Also...

"Roya, please be careful." He doesn't mean to come across as patronizing, but Roya is still a child. He feels that it's his duty to worry for kids like him.

Vane

"Pablo and Cynthia, huh? Well, I'll talk to you guys later." Vane waved them off before opening the door and entering the classroom. He picked out a random seat and immediately became comfortable in it, not showing any desire to move from it. A seat near the back of the classroom where it'll be a nice and quick exit out of the class once it's over.

It seems there are a lot of interesting people entering this class. Some that are faintly familiar and others that don't register in his memory. "First is gonna be Virgil..." he muttered to himself before resting his cheek on his hand.

He shook those gluttonous thoughts out of his head. Before anything else, he needs to get his boring classes out of the way before moving onto the really fun stuff. His academic skills aren't bad. He'd even say they're quite good, but they just aren't fun. Vane started humming a nigh-silent tune to himself, waiting for the class to begin.

A seemingly normal morning with undercurrents of misfortune readying to assail the slouching man paid off in a terrible way. The professor lecturing the class jumped right into what was to be expected of them and even got into the beginnings of music theory.

At one point, John could feel the wizened teacher focusing more on him than other students. His assumption was that he had an aversion to those who relied on the internet instead of the finer arts with a basis in reality. So, he's already slightly on the man's bad side just from barging into the room with his phone already out. And as if the day couldn't get any worse, when the lecture was over, he went straight home to grab a bite to eat and a mug of coffee only to find a lack of both necessities in his dorm room.

"Oh no. No, no, no, no...!" He felt a surge of irritation and panic well up within him. He's going to have to go out and stock up on those extremely important items.

Running out of food? Acceptable.

Running out of the most important instant coffee? Unacceptable. Screw that. He absolutely can't go without it, or he'll crash like a jet with no fuel.

So, here he is, sitting in a slouched position on his bed. He's glaring at his reflection shown by the powered-off laptop's sleek monitor. What should he do? Since it's about evening, that means there should be more people going home instead of running to a convenience store.

He sighed and stood up to grab his wallet, keys, and phone. Once more he hesitates in front of the door, feeling even more unsure of himself than earlier in the day. He shoved all of it down and repressed it before heading out to his local convenience store. A quick walk from there back to his abode.

Though it seems the weather had other ideas with the sudden mist and all surrounding the stressed man. "H-huh? What's going on?"

John lost track of where he was going and his normally sharp mind was mired by this situation that induced fear in him. He could feel his arm shaking, so he tightly grabbed his wrist to shut it down. He bit his lip and cobbled up some ideas to suppress his dread.

'Calm down. You can think this through logically. Try to remember your surroundings. I can put together something.'

John took deep breathes and started walking straight forward. "Alright. I'm not where I was before. The lack of any sounds prove that," he muttered to himself. He then took one more deep breath before shouting.

"Is anyone out there?!"
Vane

"Huh, we do? Now that I think about it, I might remember you guys." Vane made a note of all four of them sharing the same class while resting the back of his head on his hands. He walked in that carefree position all the way to class with everyone around him. All he could think about was pushing through the classes and then getting some training in, possibly sparring with others.

Since he already knew a bit about Nuru... "You two shorties," he began, obviously referring to Cynthia and Pablo. "Who are you guys? I know the big dude, but you guys are a mystery to me. Entertain me with some small talk while we head to class won't you?"

It was then that the bell rang. Vane clicked his teeth in disappointment and picked up his pace. He's gonna make Virgil his sparring partner for sapping the rest of his free time away. He just has to sit through all the slow-paced classes until he gets to the blood-pumping good stuff.

Luke/Gerard

Torys's response to Luke was comforting, for it meant she would allow him to go on the mission. He'll need to find some people to go with him though. Who should he ask? Gwendolyn and Astoria are already going on missions...

He thought to himself for a moment. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, which was why he was mildly surprised when someone stepped up to him, grabbed the assignment from his hands and curiously looked at it. It was one of the newer members who joined, Gerard. The only thing Luke had in common with him was the hair color and nothing else.

"Do you want to join me?" Luke bluntly asked. Gerard showed the front of the assignment to Luke and pointed straight at the dark guild part.

He smiled as he spoke loosely. "What a pointless question. Why else would I come over to you if I didn't want to join you on this job. There's a dark guild involved after all." He shrugged his shoulders as if speaking to Luke was a bother in itself to which Luke only tilted his head in confusion.

"I don't really know you that well. Was it wrong for me to ask?" Gerard's otherwise impeccable smile twitched just a tad.

"Yeah it was. It's fine though. I realize you're one of the slow types. Anyways we probably need one or two more members for this before leader gives us the okay. So...who would want to go on an A-rank mission with us?" Gerard wondered to himself.
