The point of NaNo is to get a super rough draft done and out of the way! Save the chopping block for December.
Writing a whole hell of a lot of crap is better than writing a little bit of mostly okay stuff. Seriously. Just keep going.

I'm writing mine by hand. Not keeping track of word count, but I am planning to fill up three good sized notebooks and see where I'm at.
My hair was green for a bit, it was fun for like a week and then I got really tired of it.
