Okay. I'll just carry on with Houston's side story until you guys get dropped off.
Finally posted :D
Houston walked back to his apartment head hanging low. No matter how hard he looked he could never find any information about the Great Old ones, all he had found was dead ends and disappointment. The apparent cult he thought he had heard about turned out to just be a group of teenagers on hallucinogenics. Houston was beginning to think that people weren't taking him seriously. Perhaps it was more of a respect and trust kind of deal. Now that he thought about it all of the back alley information he had got was zero. Probably due to the fact that none of the people he met gave him a straight answer. The only way he could gain any respect or trust was by proving his strength and reliability. Opening the door with his keys he found the lobby in darkness, this wasn't unusual as the lobby had automatic lights to save electricity. What was unusual was that they had not turned on. Trying the elevator he discovered that the electricity wasn't working. "Great a power cut as If it could get any worse today!?" He would have to climb the stairs to the third floor, heaping another problem on top of his already sour attitude.

Sifting through his messenger bag he pulled out the flashlight he always carried around with him. The powerful beam easily penetrated the darkness of the lobby as he began to climb the stairs. It was quite late at night so Houston imagined that everyone was still asleep. Thinking back to the information he had failed to gather one particular individual had stood out to him. The man in question was supposedly linked to the cult of the twist tendril. A rather brutal cult who forced people to commit ritual suicide by dosing them with fear inducing toxins. When he had tried to investigate further the man left. Houston had simply passed this off as another dead end at the moment but perhaps the man knew something but didn't want to tell him. Taking his phone out of his pocket he scrolled through the picture album and found the picture he had taken of the man without his knowledge. Pondering on the image he reached the floor that his apartment was located on.

Looking at his phone he felt like he recognised the man somehow but Houston couldn't put his finger on it. Reaching the door to his apartment he grabbed his key and put them in the door but froze as he looked at the door handle. On closer inspection he saw that the frame had splintered as if someone had kicked his door in. Turning the flashlight off he replaced it in his messenger bag. Raising his hands to his mouth he whispered into them conjuring a purple flame that glowed slightly. Pushing the door open he walked into his apartment, before he could even step past the door mat an axe swung his way. Dodging backwards the axe missed and bit deep into the open door. His assailant struggled to pull the axe free from the door, Houston wasn't going to let him and threw the ball of fire at the figure. Their clothes instantly caught alight however the flame did not harm them.

The assailant was the man he had met early in the day, his eye's were red and full of fear. He hadn't reacted to the fire not even to dodge, he had given up retrieving the axe and pulled out kitchen knife lunging for Houston's throat. The man was sluggish and still on fire giving off a light glow. They were in the corridor now, Houston couldn't risk his neighbors getting nosy. Giving the man no time to react he punched him in the face and tackled him into his apartment. The man barely flinched from the punch but Houston managed to shove him inside the apartment, generating black smoke from his hands he hurled it at the man's torso. Maggots erupted on his torso burrowing into the man stomach. Now he reacted screaming in pain as he clawed at the holed they had left in his body. With the man distracted he snatched the knife from his hand and plunged it straight into his throat turning his screams into gurgled moans before the man collapsed on the floor> The maggots were still eating away at his body, Houston had very little time to search the man for more information before the maggots ate away his whole body.

Finding what he needed he watched the maggots at work, nothing escaped their razor sharp teeth. Once they were done the writhed in agony before dissipating in a puff of smoke. Houston had got lucky with them, however he still had the blood on his hands and carpet that needed cleaning up. But that can come later. Looking at the three items he had retrieved from the dead man he smiled, finally he was getting somewhere...
Well. The director can always pump more bots into the simulation if you need more punching bags. The sim will end soon.@Genni
Washington's head was spinning inside his helmet. Picking himself off the ground he grabbed his rifle which had landed next to him. "That really hurt!" Checking his ammo count he dusted of his armour. "Let's rock and roll baby!" Charging forward he let loose with a volley of bullets into his robotic enemies. Switching to his Sticky grenade launcher he fired it into the first robot he came across. It stuck to its torso, giving it no time to react he switched back to his rifle and stabbed it in the back and charged into a group of robots. One got a kick on him loosening his grip on the robot the blade in its back sliding out and sending him flying over a wall.

Pulling out the detonator he smiled. "Scrap metal it is then fellas." Pressing the detonator the stuck robot exploded. Due to the robots being so bunched the damage blew two into pieces the other two from the group that attacked him were missing an arm or head but were relatively undamaged. They replied to his attack by reaching for him from behind the wall and picking him up from the ground by the neck.

"Oh come on, you're even worse then the last time! Little help guys?!"
Why has this ooc fallen to such dirty ideals. WHAT HAS THIS OOC BECOME?!
The Director looked over the agents with hidden curiosity. They were all either quiet or engaging in mindless chit-chat to pass the time. The Director smiled as he looked over the files that were on his desk. "Jacob Huntington? Fairly dull background to the collection of people here. But still someone to keep an eye on. Counselor, what happened to the last shipment of experimental weapons. Binary rifles? Was that there name?"

The Counselor looked at his PDA and sighed. "I am sorry to report sir but they are currently in rebel hands, they ambushed the delivery ships and stole the cargo."

The Director slammed his fist down on the table making the Counselor jump. "God damn it! These rebels stealing everything I try to get delivered! No matter. A perfect first mission for our new recruits however training time first. Then mission briefs." Pressing a button on his desk a woman's voice spoke out across the large hall, the voice had a robotic tinge in the way it spoke as she addressed the Agents in the large hall, who had now gone quiet.

"Welcome you are one of 49 elite military members who have been chosen for the new Freelancer project. We hope that you have gotten your self comfortable to listen to this recording as you will need to listen very carefully! You will no longer be know by your Civilian names, instead you will be addressed by your new code name which will have been assigned to you before you entered this hall. This must be used at all time this is for your safety! Before entering live combat you will be hooked up with various armour enhancements and an extremely Valuable AI. This AI is suited to you and will help you use your new abilities safely and efficiently.

Working together is crucial to completing your objective and scoring high in the leaderboards. The leaderboards track your personal progress throughout your missions. No matter where you are on the leaderboard you will not be treated any differently, these leaderboards are for The directors and the boards feedback as to how well the Project is running. There are a few rules that must be followed:

AIs must not communicate with each other.

No contact to the outside is allowed via any mode of communication.

Use of live weapons or abilities unless inside a training zone or on a mission is prohibited.

Obey any orders given to you by the Director or Counselor.

Thank you for your patience the Director will now address you".

The Directors voice followed the woman's after a short pause. "Good morning agents. To assess who is going to be implanted with what A.I. we will begin this morning with a round of sparring. We will be assessing how you fight and act individually and together. Your opponents will be military grade Mechanoids with military A.I.. You will be outnumbered two to one so take this into account. Please make your way towards the training facility now."

The training facility in question was a large room filled with a simulation battle environment made to look like an abandoned village. All of the agents would be able to use live round however their armour abilities would be disabled. Their opponents stand at the other side of the room, black suits of armour armed with simulation rounds that pack a hell of a punch but are not lethal.

Washington was the first in, looking at situation he grimaced. "Man, robots punch like heavyweight boxers and take as much punishment as a tank. Not fair."

Once all the agents were in a horn buzzed signaling the start of the exercise. The robots jumped to life taking up defensive position and throwing smoke grenades in front of them to cover their advance and Advance they did. Slowly moving forwards preparing to engage whoever got close.

Washington looked over at the rest of the agents. "Hey guys and gals names Washington, these robots are going to be a bitch to take down. Word to note they'll keep on going even if you knock of their heads. They can take information from other bots to see so if one sees you they all see you. Only reason I know so much about these bastards is this ain't my first rodeo with them. Got stuck in a training simulator with two of them, they beat me good. So don't get caught and if you do have to hit them then hit them as hard as you fucking can! Apart from that..." Washington pulled the pin on a grenade. "Have fun!" Vaulting over the wall he had been hiding behind he threw the grenade into the crowd of machines. They jumped away from the explosive and Washington was there to meet them blasting one in the arm with his AR he was met with a punch to the gut sending him flying over a wall. "Son of a bitch!"
I was like NOOOOOO
