The Legend of Heroes: Tales of the World

And I'm in the process of writing a post! I think I might break it down into two posts like Rex did for hers, the first one focusing on the Guilders and my second later today focusing on the performance, but if anyone wants to write a post inbetween them, they're more then welcome to!

I absolutely loved the Magician Trio and Max's display, Rex! And Poppy is pretty awesome, Buns! I definitely think I'm going to introduce Isabella and Abram in my next post!

Heyas everyone! I hope and wish everyone a wonderfully relaxing weekend, I think we all deserve it, eh?

Kei, I'm glad to hear you're safe <3 And I'm also super sorry to hear about all the damage to your grandparents' home. D: And... I'm also sorry for laughing so hard at the comment of thinking your dog peed on you, lol. But the most important thing is that you're safe and doing okay. I wish you and your family the speediest of speedy recoveries and that everything gets back to normal asap. Don't worry about posting today, so long as you're okay that's all that's important to me.

For the benefit of our new starters, Aki and Ryver (when she's finished her character's sheet) as well as a reminder for everyone else, I've composed a few key rules and regulations for the rp that I'd like everyone to read over sil vous plait~

• The RP expects daily posting. With the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday, which due to my generosity and the majority of players being busy has become a 2 day posting round where players can post on either one of those days and miss the other, players are expected to be posting on every single day. The only exceptions and allowances I give to players missing posting are for:-

• Exams
• Holiday
• Sickness

I am lenient and understanding enough to also allow players the need to miss a day for other reasons, depending on the circumstances (such as Kei's own predicament, which again I hope improves asap), however one thing which I won't accept as an excuse is 'school'. If I was to accept busy schoolwork or whatever as a valid reason for missing a post, then this rp would never get updated with, and as players know I've explained and made it clear plenty of times why this rp is structured with daily posting the way it is.

As I've mentioned above, I am pretty lenient when it comes to this rp. So long as it moves along and it gets consistent posting, I'm happy. But lately there have been instances where posting has been anything other then consistent, and I'm cracking down on this starting now. If a player is proving to be an inconsistent poster, then I'll first pm them a warning. If it persists, they'll be removed. Help me help you guys to not have to do this...

• Keep regurgitation within IC posts to a minimum. It adds nothing to just repeat what another player has written and instead causes the more unneccessary need to read the same thing over and over. Proactivity is key, and posts that move the scene on and give fellow players something to build from is what's sought after. A good way of knowing whether or not your post works in this regard is to imagine if your post would work within a 1x1 and give your sole partner enough to actually work with and build upon the rp with it, and vice versa. If not, it'll need editing. Give what you get - this doesn't just extend to post length, but post content too.

• The miminum posting length for this rp is 150 words, with general post length sizes being what can be seen currently in the rp. I don't like massive posts filled with pointless regurgitation and fluff, it's not fun, especially when needing to read it daily. This just helps to keep the rp focused, moving and developing, and works well for everyone. A 150 word minimum is also there so that, if people are exceptionally busy on a day, they should theoretically be able to post, because 150 words is... not that difficult to write at all.

• Calling IC posts. Because the rp has daily posting, it's best to make a post within the OOC announcing when you are working on an IC post, effectively 'calling it' and making sure we don't get any instances with people posting at the same time. However, if players' characters are not in the same scene together, and thus their posts wouldn't infringe on the other, it's okay for both players to post. When calling an IC post, please try to make sure that the IC post is then up in a timely manner, such as within an hour. The following bullet point plays into whether or not any problems crop up, but this is fairly self explanatory.

• OOC Communication. Speaks for itself. A healthy ooc means a healthy IC and rp overall. I like that this has been improving recently since I mentioned it just recently, but of course keep it up! If anyone has any questions about anything relating to the rp, the OOC is a fantastic place to ask for everyone to see and respond to. Anything personal towards me, a PM through RPG or Skype works just as well too and I can assist automatically there and then. For co-gm chapters, the same can be done for our co-gms, if not making a group pm with all those neccessary involved. Don't be shy or embarassed or anything like that. Communication really is super important <3

• Kathi, Kei, any help you guys can give me with giving details regarding plans for co-gm chapters the sooner and better, I'd be most appreciative of it. There's no rush for you Kei, considering everything going on atm, but I'd be extremely grateful if some headway could be made towards this.

I think that's everything important and relevant enough for now, although I could be forgetting something. If I am, someone point it out for me, lol. But hopefully that's clear for everyone? If not, please say and I'll do what I can to help hopefully explain things better.

Honestly, the best way is both. If a player cannot think of anything meaningful to add to the rp within the IC, then they should ask for help within the ooc, communicate with their other players, and then come up with something that'll enable them to write a meaningful post instead of skipping. Because if one or more players choose to skip writing a post because they can't come up with something then it'll ground to a halt, and even then for pacing reasons a post, big or small, might be handy for progressing things along.

RPGN Changes

Honestly, yeah. I can't speak if it was the case for every issue worked on, but the one time I did it the organisation and communication between people was kind of... all over the place and almost nonexistant. It needs better organisation.

Rex said A lot of stuff within the chapter had actually gone against what was planned, which makes RPing a lot more fun than going exactly by what was detailed in a synopsis imo. So I'm looking forward to what everyone else might have in mind for how to progress at this part, especially ^^.

Now she see what makes GMing in particular a lot of fun - coming up with storylines and plans and seeing how they can change and skew for the better thanks to the wonderful input of everyone involved. 8D It's a hell of a lot of fun. Everyone's doing a wonderful job! :)

I was speaking to Fox on skype earlier, and she told me that the area Kei lives in is suffering some severe flooding at the moment. Hopefully Kei's alright and isn't too badly affected, but this could also be the reason she's not been online lately. I just hope she's okay and that things get back to normal. D8 Kei good luck!!! ;-;

Phillis Circus: Outside the Big Top

“…I’m going to stay near the back,” Estelle decided, speaking up after Moira and Syed confirmed they would take some of the seats nearer the front of the performance ring. The swordswoman wanted to stay as far back and as close to the exits as possible, in order to help make sure that the path was clear for audience members to flee through. It wasn’t an easy decision. The proactive part of her personality wanted to stop the strange baseball capped pervert they had encountered before he did something as grossly dangerous as what he had planned, but she couldn’t think of any way to easily do so, short of finding a member of the circus and reporting to them what Crispin had said. But she also felt that that was… just as equally dangerous. As much as she hated Crispin’s plan, the alternative he left meant having their investigation come to a screeching halt. What on Ddaear were they to do?

“I’ll help make sure people are able to get out without stampeding over themselves, if it has to come to that,” Estelle gritted her teeth and sigh, shaking her head. She then turned to Aria, and nodded at her suggestion on making use of Lute’s abilities. “I think that’s a good idea. Lute… we’re going to have to count on you a lot.”

“This is still… ridiculous…” Xandra brought a hand to her forehead and gently stroked it. “Someone’s going to set fire to the circus? And we’re allowing it? Leader, is this… is this really wise?”

“We didn’t find anything else out, though…” Lucien shrugged. “Did yo-”

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE SHOW IS ABOOOOOUT TO BEGIN!!”

“Crap!” Estelle exclaimed. “No more time! Come on!”

With that, the red haired swordswoman dashed into the giant tent as quickly as she did, scoping for the nearest empty seat available to her. On the right, sandwiched inbetween a group of guests were a pair of free seats. Uttering a number of ‘excuse me’ and ‘I’m sorry’, she managed to seat herself down in one of the seats, and lean forward to look down at the circus ring below with great trepidation. The curtains to the Big Top’s exits fell shut in order to block any of the sunlight from outside to creep in, the circus performers preferring to control all of the spotlights within, as the show, to a conflagration of trumpets and drums, drew ever closer to the Big Top’s main show!

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, CHILDREN AND ELDERLY, ONE AND ALL…”

An infectiously energetic voice rang out throughout the number of speakers positioned about the tent. Spotlights placed along the ceiling of the tent all turned, first from illuminating the audience of the tent to focus on the circular performance ring below, and a small platform where the emcee would stand. Brandishing and twirling a microphone with deft skill in one hand, she raised it up to her lips as her other hand shot to a point in the sky, as the show’s introductory music reached its full, climatic ending. It was the circus’ own gatekeeper, Sammie.



“THE PHILLIS CIRCUS PROUDLY WELCOMES YOU ALL TO OUR GRAND PERFORMANCE!”

At that, a loud trumpeting burst was accompanied by a loud explosion from a cannon resting behind Sammie, its turret pointed into the sky. From it was shot a figure that began spinning and flipping in somersaults through the air, cresting nearly the very top of the tent’s ceiling, before gradually arcing downwards. The figure landed both safely and dramatically in front of Sammie with his hands held high, cocky grin plastered on his face, as confetti burst in to shower them from the sides of the ring. A rapturous applause deafened immediately from the assembled audience.



Max Powers, the circus’ human cannonball, was their Grand Performance’s opening act.

What was to follow would be a memorable show that was impossible to forget.

Phillis Circus: The Big Top's Rear Perimeter Fence

“That was a close one, huh?” Estelle said with a heavy sigh, her shoulders and chest deflating from their ‘on-edge’ position a second ago. Sammie had not only scared Trixie but also frightened the hell out of Estelle too. The idea of them sneaking the whole way through the Big Top, narrowly avoiding multiple members of the troupe, to then sneaking from tent to tent outside and abseiling over the top of the fenced perimeter to then finally being caught by one of them… would have been excruciating. But it didn’t seem as though Sammie had seen them at all, instead encouraging them to visit the Big Top’s Grand Performance in just a short while. The show was close to beginning, with the rest of the circus’ patrons all making their way towards it.

"Phew. You don't... think she heard any of that, do you?” Trixie asked, looking up at Estelle with a bit bottom lip, and Estelle nodded back with an apprehensive look, shifting to one of hope in trying to lift Trixie’s spirits back up.

“No, I don’t think she did. I mean, if she did… then she’s a damn good actor.” Estelle’s cheeks opened wide with a bright, charming smile. “No, I think we’re good, Trix! Just… let’s keep our guard up though anyway.”

“Yeah!” Trixie nodded in agreement. “Mmmaybe we should catch up to the others now too..." Trixie began tugging away at Estelle's wrist again, towards the group of four by the departing stiltman. The two moved at a brisk, hurried pace, and were fortunate enough not to encounter any more scares along the way. As they rejoined the quartet that had been talking to Stevie the stiltman, they came just in time to find Moira smacking both Aria and Lucien on the head yet again, yelling loudly once more. And then turning and yelling at Syed as she demanded to know where Luke and Xandra had disappeared to, already forgetting to the electromage’s own heavy sigh. But no sooner had her angry tirade begun, but Lute and Xandra slowly turned up as well, the former busy in thought as he replayed his ominous encounter with Elisa inside his mind…

“Guys!” Estelle shouted out as she and Trixie caught up to everyone else. “Is everyone okay? Did you find anything out? Because we found something… well… weird…” Estelle’s eyes glanced to Aria, the two remembering their frankly bizarre encounter with Crispin. Where to begin with what the man had said? It was suspicious and seemed to corroborate with their mission somewhat, referencing missing people but… considering everything they had seen and heard with him, who’s to say he wasn’t simply… delusional?

Before Estelle or any of the others could truly begin however, they heard a loud, deafening trumpet echo all throughout the circus’ grounds, shocking all of the Pride to attention. After the trumpet sounded, a voice, in a calm tone, resonated loudly over a broadcast.

"Ladies and gentlemen! The Phillis Circus' Grand Performance is about to begin! Please make your ways to the Big Top located in the center of the Circus and take your seats. There is still some time to use the restroom and order some food and drink to take within."

Estelle’s eyes snapped towards the others. There was no time to stand outside and explain everything that Crispin had told them, or for Syed’s group to explain what they had seen in one of the restricted zone’s tents… or even to explain Eric’s bizarre disappearance. They couldn’t miss the show. Not with how Crispin had said he planned to set things on fire. The best they could hopefully manage would be whispers inside… and hope no one would overhear them…?

“The show’s starting…” Xandra spoke aloud, to Estelle’s grimace.

“We… we need to see this show,” Estelle replied to confused stares. “We just… ugh! We kind of do!”

Also, Aki, don't be shy! This ooc is as much yours as it is everyone else, so always feel free to talk and communicate on here about anything and everything you want! in fact the ooc has been pretty quiet and slow lately, which I think is probably due to the skype group taking away activity for it, but I would appreciate the ooc being a bit more livelier, and I'll probably be less active in the skype group for it. A healthy ooc means a healthy ic and thus healthy rp overall! :)
