Los Paraisos: Cafe outside Pellagio Hotel
"Estelle and Trixie are still unaccounted for, maybe we should split up into a couple groups," Selan suggested. "I'm not too worried about Josette, she might just be working right now. But I'd like to head to that nightclub now, the baby might have belonged to someone who was there last night. Don-- I mean, Crimson Justice, could you escort us?" she asked, rifling through one of the complimentary map pamphlets stacked on the table. "It's only a few blocks from here, past the restaurant we were at last night."
“You’ve got it!!” Crimson Justice jumped to his feet, knocking his chair and sending it flying behind him. He reached over the table to take the map pamphlet from Selan, giving the baby held in her arms a little tickle on its tummy in an effort to cheer the infant up, before straightening back up and inspecting the map. The pamphlet then began to be turned around in multiple directions every which way, as he tried his hardest to work out where exactly they were supposed to be going. La Macaret? Which of those funny squares of the map was supposed to be that place? Even if he wasn’t absolutely terrible at reading, his geography was appalling too.
“Ah… this way,” Selan motioned, carefully standing up with the identity less child nestled in her arms. Crimson Justice turned his head to where Selan nodded towards, and then he jumped onto the street with a magnificent pose, fistpumping the sky.
“Certainly! In justice we trust!”
For everyone else who were passing by, unable to see the red spandex covered superhero’s real form, they could only look in bewilderment at the strange man in a white unitard with tassles and a big, billowing hair and shades start leading the way, followed by Aria, still dressed in Thunderhawk’s smelly, disgusting clothes, Dylan, whom had been quickly finishing up the breakfast he had ordered whilst they were waiting, and a stunning blonde woman in a pearl white, flowing dress carrying a small… teddy bear.
For once, the eyes of people around them were not on them, thankfully.
“Hmm…” Aria muttered quietly, as she continued to read the newspaper as they walked forwards. She was concerned for Xandra, having been left behind in the hotel to provide a distraction for their escape. She hoped she was alright, as hopelessly left behind in that silly clown outfit as she was. She knew she would be, Xandra was a reliable Guilder unlike any other she knew. And she was with that guy she knew who liked to smile a lot and crack bad jokes, Lucien. They’d be fine.
But then they were also stuck in the same hotel as a naked Chirps, so maybe not… oh well. She’d just have to trust Xan.
As the group pressed forwards, they walked past the same smouldering restaurant wreckage as the one she had seen before with Thunderhawk and Xandra. The crowd that had gathered around it had thinned out in the time being, but there were still some people, taking photos of the simmering Hell’s Kitchen. At the same time, she was reading an article on Page 3 of the newspaper Moira had grabbed. Continued from a small section of Page 1, it detailed the rise of the island resort’s mysterious protector… a boisterous vigilante named Crimson Justice, who had…
“Hey, Mr. Superhero,” Aria called out. “What’s all this about you putting the restaurant fire out and saving some peoples’ lives?”
“Huh?” Crimson Justice replied. Selan and Dylan echoed the sentiments. They did seem to recall one of the reporters shouting that out earlier…
“I mean, er, yes! Of course! I’m a superhero! Naturally I’d be saving lives and putting out fires!!” Crimson Justice explained. He continued twirling the map about, trying to find where they were.
Aria just blinked, looking towards her other two companions she hoped were far more sane. Selan she had spent some time with yesterday during the beachball game, but Dylan she had yet to really speak to. She smiled at both of them, before leaning first towards Selan.
“Hey, Selan, would you like some help with the baby?” Aria asked. “I can carry him for you for a little while, if you’d like.” She then smiled towards Dylan. “He sure is a cutie, huh? Just like you. What do you guys think his name is? Don’t you think we should call him something, even for a while? Better then ‘him’ or ‘it’ or ‘the baby’, right?”
“Is this it?” Crimson Justice asked, pausing outside a building with flashing neon lights. The building’s name was signed in a expressive, cursive writing, whilst at the end of the sign was an illuminated silhouette of a woman holding a pole. The building was covered in pictures of half naked people, and the symbols ‘XXX’ appeared everywhere.
“No, that’s not?” Aria just blinked again. She pointed across the street, at another building, much more grand and fabulous with the words ‘La Macaret’ signed outside. That was their destination.
Best of luck with your finals and papers, Fox! Kick ass and take some names! Just remember, sweet joyful freedom at the end of it all!

Oh gosh you guys. I just caught up on the IC. It's perfect. Absolutely PERFECT.
So much goodness. Moira and Lisette not knowing who Crimson Justice really is. The possible travesty waiting to happen with Crimson Justice leading everyone to the night club. Amy's shouting and stomping off. Seriously terrific stuff.
So, group stuff. Let's see where everyone is so far, yeah?

Aria needs to go with Selan and Don in order to keep up the illusion. I think Danni's actually safe to have Dylan go in either group, but I think he'd be cool with Selan and Don? :D
Lucien and Xandra were still left in the Hotel after providing a distraction. Fox is extremely busy this week with exams so it's possible she won't be able to post until Friday at the earliest. She's given us the go ahead to use her characters, so what I think I'll do is have Thunderhawk meet up with them offpanel and then have them discover one of the groups closer towards the end of the week so Fox can pick up her characters again. We can NPC Aria a little until Kathi's back from her trip. I'm not sure when exactly that is or how soon she can resume posting, but hopefully that's also by the end of the week.
I know Rex is swamped with finals and essays this week too. If you need to take a break from posting to concentrate of them, Rex, then by all means. I think you might be busy with any finals/projects etc this week too, Tae? In which case, by all means take a break to focus on them too. In case anyone is worried, I asked for more consistent posting earlier but I also said I want that at the end of the week when hopefully everyone's busy-ness eases up a bit. But school, and exams etc trump rp, especially when it comes to finals. Best of luck, guys!

Los Paraisos: Outside the Pellagio Hotel
SINGING SENSATION STUNS LOS PARAISOS
“Huh? What happened here?” Marcus replied, looking at the typed headline and the article that followed, casting a curious gaze at the photo adorning the front page. As the bedlam in front of the hotel escalated, with fists flying and bodies falling everyone, the Pride retired to a nearby café table to sit down and put their feet up as they glanced over the paper. “Singing sensation?”
Marcus looked up, blinking first at Selan and the baby she cradled whom was she was drying, and then at Crimson Justice, who was flexing brilliantly in front of Lisette.
“What happened to you guys last night? And where did the baby come from?”
“What’s the newspaper say, citizens?” Crimson Justice asked, walking forwards and looking over his friends’ shoulders to stare at the picture… a picture of a certain leather jacket adorning man and beautiful songstress. Were they famous? “I… er…” Crimson Justice started fumbling. Staring at the photo was as far as he could get, not being able to actually read any of the printed words.
“Hold on,” Aria added, as she walked forwards, tickling the chin of the baby wrapped in Selan’s arms. “As busy as all of those people at the hotel are… if you guys are now famous, then you’ll need a bit more help in avoiding people staring at and harassing us.”
“You mean… disguises?” Crimson Justice looked up.
“I can help with that,” Aria winked, before magic wafted over and around Selan and the masked superhero’s body, changing their appearance to anyone not a member of their group.
“This just gets stranger and stranger…” Marcus collapsed back in his seat and took a heavy sigh. “What happened to everyone last night? As ashamed as I am to admit it… I don’t remember anything. And it looks like we’re missing Estelle, Trixie and Kapi…”
“And Miss Josette!” Crimson Justice added with a pointed finger.
“What happened to Mr. Thunderhawk too?” Lisette added. “We sort of just… lost him?”

I think some overreactions have been happening. Oops
I don't know what exactly's happened since my last post and when I fell asleep, but I want to clarify something that I think might have gotten a bit confused from my initial post. My comments before weren't referring to scene setups or anything like that, just a request for everyone to be more proactive in their posts by having more happen in a post for people to respond to - less single lines and just a bit more to push the pacing forward. It's what allows people to build off others posts and keeps the rping flowing and progressing, whereas little action just makes it difficult to progress and stalls inspiration and the pacing down. In the "What causes Roleplays to die?" thread in the Roleplaying Discussion forum, Brovo made an excellent post with reasons for RP death, and where I think number 4 was in danger of applying here. I just want to prevent that.
All I'm asking for is a little more action/forward momentum in a post because it makes it easier for all of us. :)
WIth regards to plans and stuff, unless someone specifically says something in the ooc about asking people not to post, I don't think it matters and people should not worry about stepping on others' toes (iirc with regards Crispin in the Restaurant, Rex's comment was about asking people not to write the character since he was an OC and not an NPC. Interaction with him was totally fine. And with regards Buns asking Tae not to post, when I learnt that I wasn't particularly happy about that either, but Buns has apologised so nbd. The desire for that Syed/Moira/Amy scene to not be interrupted in anyway should have been made clear on the ooc beforehand. But plans get wrecked, and people should be mindful/aware of that). People simply should not feel afraid of posting an action that might conflict with any premade plans if they haven't already been specified in the ooc.
Personally, I may have made several plans before with regards to the IC (well... got to have some otherwise a directionless rp is going to go absolutely nowhere, right?), but I welcome you guys making posts that could potentially upset that or not (and if I have ever commented before in a way that I don't, then I apologise). Because 1) It's fun writing together where this kind of group interaction/writing can't be planned against (otherwise we should all just write novels, right? XD) and 2) Rping with you guys and your responses inspires me with more neat ideas and ways to incorporate that into any plans, or change them for the better etc. Unpredictability is what's fun, and any plans that I or anyone else makes are and should be flexible. I don't have anything set in stone, just ideas that I like to mold after you guys' responses. A good example would be waaaay back at the start of the rp where my initial idea for Don was just to fight everyone as a boss (most likely THawk cus of rank stuffs). But that turned out way differently and for the better because of you guys responses, right?
As for stuff occuring right now. I still need to catch up on the IC and I feel like I've missed something in the ooc so I can only do my best to guess, but:
Anybody that wants to explore what is happening/has happened with their characters and wants to do a scene showing as such is more then welcome to, i.e. Amy and Syed's marriage, Don and Selan's newfound fame, or whatever else people would like to do. And honestly, we can do all of them, and simultaneously at that, having the group seperate to investigate all of these things (with a simple enough reason being splitting up to search for Estelle, Josette, Kapi and Trixie to cover more ground) and just having fun resolving subplots there. I don't mind if this takes longer then a week for people to be satisfied with what's happening, I just wanted posts to be more active with what happens in the IC content rather then passive, otherwise it'd just take us all forever to do, y'know? XD This is going to be a long rp already, I wouldn't want it stretching for a decade. >_>
Again I need to catch up on IC stuff first, but regards to stuff that's happening in there I think characters splitting up to search for the others is a good idea and more valid to help explore whatever happened before. I'll be having Don with Selan naturally. They woke up together, found a baby in their room, and for some reason are celebrities. I don't want Don to drop the superhero act since I want him to be like that for the majority of this chapter (and, y'know, his hair, no one must know it's him) but seperate from the main group and with Selan and maybe a couple of other people, he'll definitely act more like his normal self and we can get that faux parentage stuff going as we find out what the hell happened to them. Just throwing out an idea but having Trixie with them would be hilarious considering what Rex has been building up with her in her scenes with Freddie and in general. Don acting like a superhero to her but normal towards Selan etcetc could lead to hilarious misunderstandings.
Marcus and Thunderhawk I'm more willing and free to do with whatever people like. I've not specified or hinted what Marcus might have done last night, because I've kept that blank to help build up things for everyone else, and to get me interacting with others. I can plonk him with Syed, Moira (and Amy?) and whoever else going to the church and finding out what happened there, or anything else if people want to seperate and do something different. Same with Thunderhawk. I had him seperated (mostly so he can get some actual less illusionary clothes first) but so I can also plonk him into a group that I think needs another person or would benefit from his prescence, whatever that might be. I'm still wondering how he managed to wind up naked near a roof with Aria and with Xan the way she is, but it's up to Fox and Kathi if you guys have any ideas for that and desires to explore what happened, or have Aria and Xan go with the others for the sake of interaction (and be able to explore those things together, etc). Keeping options open.
Anyway... drama llamas stuffs aside, I hope everyone has a good weekend. From what I've seen in the IC before after my initial post, I'm happy and grateful how you guys have pushed forward more with your IC posts. That's made me very happy. Thank you.

I can do that, but then it becomes a question of whether or not people wanted to be spoiled about stuff that's going to happen, or whether people don't want to be.

How people wanted to treat the night before with their character and others is up to you guys (I'm not deciding what's happened to peoples' characters). What happened to them is ultimately up to you all, after all, and if you guys want to explore that, then that's also down to you guys. The baby and paparazzi aren't so much major developments as things I threw in for fun for people to react to and build of (like I'd hope everyone else would have done). The paparazzi is something I suggested to Tae with regards to Don and Selan hitting celebritydom after some kind of performance the night before. The baby is something I decided to add in the moment the baby appeared and wasn't preplanned at all, I had the idea for it after reading Tae's post with Selan waking in the same room as Don (and the same with Crimson Justice). Spur of the moment stuff like that is what's fun afterall, and I figured Don and Selan finding a baby would be neat considering their chemistry and how Selan is supposed to be motherly. The two of them looking after a kid is just lols~ I have ideas for what the baby's identity is and who its parents are, but just that, ideas. It could go any way people want it to, really. I know someone has an idea of how and why (and who)the restaurant burnt down, but the specifics of that isn't neccessarily down to me, or I think even that person is bothered by, again its details for everyone to build and flesh upon. Something went down there and Crimson Justice stopped it. That's all that's really known and all that I have planned. I've not preplanned any of this far in advance because I want to build off it with you guys.
At the moment, things can go however people want. How people want to explore what happened to their characters is entirely up to you all. The obvious scenes are the church, stripclub, or whatever else people fancy to have happened to their characters, I'll be there to react and build off it with npcs or whatever else. Sky's the limit. It's up to you all if you want to explore that or not. XD

How long it takes before then is again up to everyone else and how much time they want to explore whatever happened, something I think we need to decide upon. A week? Two weeks?

Had both Fox and Danni tell me over FB (although I'm sure they will here too) that their biggest worry is 'making a mistake with pre-made plans', which is a valid concern, and I apologise. I should be more communicative about when and where pre-planned stuff is occuring, so I'll explain that as well.
Atm, the rp is free game for people to do whatever they want with their characters in exploring what happened to them the previous night, up until I have Spoilers~ involve what happened to Estelle and Josette. Now this is something for everyone to discuss whether or not people want to or not, but the only ideas I had for that, with is expandable for everyone depending on what you guys want to do and what direction you want to take it in, is the church where Amy and Syed got married, and the strip club where Trixie awoke. Or... not, it's all up to you and whatever you guys want to do. I'm honestly winging everything right now. I had an idea of Selan and Don becoming famous that I ran by Tae a while back, but everything actually occuring with them is all on the fly right now and up for everyone to push in whatever way they'd like.
Just for the time being, things can happen however people want (which is where people need to be pro-active with their posting). Do people want to explore what happened last night (which, the events of what happened is totally up to you guys. Afterall, they're your characters :) ) or progress further with a timeskip towards chapter endgame with Estelle/Josette etc? Up to you guys.
Saying all that though, I still think more action (and not the explodey action boom boom type thing alone) occuring in everyone's posts is handy and useful, as it gives everyone else more to respond with and work from in their posts. There's not a lot of ways in which people can mess up any plans I make because that's the nature of rping, I need to work around that kind of thing, and I'd rather be inspired in new ways by you guys being creative then me leading everyone down one path with people only posting reactions, cus that's boring for everyone I think? If there's ever a time where I need the rp to go down a certain one way route, I would definitely mention it. Anyway, please still let me know how everyone thinks.
