It maaaaaay be a little tough for us to come with.

*nods*
Okay. This venture is not necessary for you to be involved. All I would need is to arrive once.
<Snipped quote by Path>

*Laughs*
That would be a first! I can’t say I’d turn down the chance to see it.

It would not be the first for me to stay for a long period to understand and create new magic.
<Snipped quote by Path>

It's usually a life-or-death thing. Are you gonna force a bunch of mages to poison themselves?

No, that’ll prevent the full scale of results that I can get. Magic is based on a fully living being, even when it comes to ailments such as magic poisoning. If anything, I might set up clinic for awhile to aid those who are afflicted.
<Snipped quote by Path>

Probably. What do you have to gain there?

To study those who acquire magic poisoning and it’s effects.
<Snipped quote by Path>

Huh? Who’d want to go to our world?

Have you missed the context of our conversation?
<Snipped quote by Path>

Yeah, we noticed that a lot of mages from other worlds don’t seem to have magic poisoning. But most just end up running out, and a lot of them can’t channel magic either.

I’ve noticed the latter as well.
*looks at you*
Do you think I’d be able to go to your world at some point?
<Snipped quote by Path>

What if you could spread out the cost of the spell over your whole soul? Like, you probably can’t do something crazy like bring yourself back to life, but maybe you could send someone a message or something.

Hm, I’d have to visit your world to understand how mana effects the humans who live there. As I have mentioned before, it is rare for mana and magical energy to be that destructive to a human body when it is present. I have seen overexertion that it destroys a being or cripples them.
*looks towards the armory*
But nothing like your friend.
<Snipped quote by Path>

Well, you’re at least making yourself able to live without it. Like a lizard losing its tail.

Hm.
<Snipped quote by Path>

You’d be cutting off a part of yourself while you’re still alive.

More of shaping, as you are not exactly removing that part.
<Snipped quote by Path>

What if it uses part of itself as a catalyst? I’ve never seen anyone use a soul like that, but if a mage can use their own body to absorb the poison of magic, why can’t their soul do the same?

That’s a dangerous move, bodies are designed to be damaged, but souls, as strong as they can be, are more fragile than bodies and any damage has been seen to be permanent and debilitating to the person.
*taps my chin in thought*
But if a soul were to remove a part of itself to make it’s function as a sort of organ to purge and take on specific damage. I suppose that can be done.
