I wonder if this place would ever run a proper Play By Post with dice rolls and whatnot.

The average life expectancy of RPs here leave something to be desired.

Ah yes, looking up words in Google Translate. Used an actual paperback dictionary back in the day, but still - looks like I'm back in the saddle.

It's not the size of the brain that counts, it's how you wield it

@Morric, that's not what I meant. I am ucomfortable with ignoring posts that my character has no choice but to react to. And lack of reference in a post, as far as I'm concerned, is in-game lack of reaction.

@KatherinWinter, anything metallic in the gym? Bench foundations, freeweights, soccer goals?
Ezekiel was grateful for the change of scenery. He cringed at the new kid's tazing, but really, there was no other way this could've ended. He rose from his seat, fighting against his fatigue.

One of the guards took a step towards him - the teenager recognised the man as one of the group that brought him to this facility. They were visibly tense when meeting him, armored to the teeth and weapons at the ready. But the large prisoner was passive and polite, and after a while they even removed some of the restraints, since they were far too short and made him quite uncomfortable.

The guard beckoned with his hand at the corridor leading to the gym. Ezekiel nodded and slowly fell into line, his hands in his pockets and his eyes on the ground in front of him.
is everyone but Yami on their way to the gym??

No. I haven't posted yet. I can't decide what the hell am I supposed to do with Violet's post.

Edit: Ok, I just realized that chronologically the doctor asked us to go to the gym before that post. So I guess Iron can 'miss' it. Kind of uncivil but if you want to proceed I don't see much choice.
Told you guys the Librarian will fall. It was just the abyss, not Chaos, but it still counts!
Personally I see no reason to try and balance any of the game's NPCs or GMPCs. It is, after all, quite obvious that if any of us try to kill Vlad, the great hand of Deus Ex Machina will slap us to next tuesday, regardless of our power. Most of the game's balancing rules don't apply to them since they drive the story and plot instead of responding to it.

That is not to say the PCs do not drive the story. They just do it differently.
An immortal who changes reality with words that have to make sense - to me, this sounds too close to being a Dungeon Master. And there can be only one.

Besides, how do you tone it down? Such a character would literally have an infinite amount of solutions to any problem. How do you challenge them? How do you force them into a corner? How do you create a story that makes sense when one of the character has a power that can change the plot directly?

One of the characters in this game has an ability to change their material composition to anything they touch, while, I assume, retaining their ability to move and think. This ability is very powerful, but can be toned down and limited, because it lives within a very specific frame. But, yknow, "change anything and never die"? I am trying hard to be polite here. The restriction in my eyes is fictive. They can basically attempt anything, and it can either work or not. Nobody should be able to attempt anything with a chance of success that isn't zero.
I will be glad to explain. Dr. Manhattan's power was, to put it in a few words, free control over all aspects of reality (not sure about time, but space was definitely there too). In one word, he was GOD. He was the only character with true superpowers in the Watchmen comics, which imbalanced the whole story heavily - there it was intentional. It is an excellent comic (It's also quite short) by DC I think, and I highly recommend it. There is also a movie, but do me a favor and read the comic first. The movie, while excellent in itself, does not do the comics justice.

And yes, Violet's character. "Reality Control". This power should not be legal in my opinion.
@KatherinWinter, I officially state that the whole post makes no sense to me. Why would a guard, armed to the teeth with tazers and a gun which I assume shoots plastic death, cut open the neck of one of the doctor's prized experiments? I mean, sure, @ViolentViolet can say that this is a plot hook to demonstrate the character's regeneration, but it looks extremely forced, sacrificing story consistency for power demonstration. And I am saying this because Ezekiel needs to respond somehow, and I want it to make sense.

On the same topic, I bring into question the fact that you approved a character who's basically Dr. freakin' Manhattan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Watchmen_characters#Doctor_Manhattan) without a biography, after asking me to tone down my character's power. I realize this sounds vindictive, but I really believe that other than mr. Japanese Nightmare with a Sword the group is quite balanced, and I have no reason to doubt Mr. JNwaS before he starts powergaming. So, I kindly request an explanation.

I realize I have no administrative power in this group and that DM's power is absolute, so consider this an expression of concern from someone who has a bit more than zero RPing experience.
@KatherinWinter @ViolentViolet

Seriously? A guard just cut that girl's neck and left her bleeding on the floor? Did he have a plastic knife?
What's with all the people proficient in 24 different types of aircraft and nuclear weapons lately? We're supposed to be normal kids, jees.
