I wonder if this place would ever run a proper Play By Post with dice rolls and whatnot.

Ah yes, looking up words in Google Translate. Used an actual paperback dictionary back in the day, but still - looks like I'm back in the saddle.

It's not the size of the brain that counts, it's how you wield it

The guard that Ezekiel approached was six foot six and just a little over two hundred pounds. He was muscular without being overly so. He had jet black hair that was cut in a military fashion and dark blue eyes. He studied the boy with a mild curious look.

Ezekiel approached him carefully. He couldn't avoid feeling threatened by the man's imposing figure, even without taking into account his riot equipment and weapons. But even so, the boy was relieved at the fact the guard did not attack him or try to stop him - Vlad's dictator-like manner constantly made him feel like he was trespassing, and he subconsciously expected the same behavior from the rest of the staff. But the challenging part was ahead of him - he knew that to get what he wanted, he needed an exact amount of confidence.

"Hi." he said, in a business-like manner, "I am one of Vlad's new recruits, and I'm looking for the library?" He cursed inwardly at the unnecessary question mark. "Do you know where it is?"

The guard smirked. He thought that this boy wasnt very smart. First he told him something that every guard in the building knew then he asked the worlds stupidst question. "Considering that I have worked in this building for over ten years I wouldnt be a very good guard if I didnt know where the library was.?"

Ezekiel smiled uncomfortably. He could recognise a predator's smile quite easily. It was obvious the guard is going to toy with him, but the actual words he said gave the young man some hope. Despite this, he would not be enjoying what was going to come. "Ten years, really?" He made an innocently curious face. "So you must've seen lots of guys like us come and go?" It was a good question, actually. Was this project really new? "What were they like?" He wondered in the back of his mind how good the pay was to make this guy so unambitious.

"You are only the second patch of criminals that the doctor has had here. Before that this was a pretty regular job." the guard answered. He didnt approve of letting teenage criminals roam the facility freely. He believed that they should be locked up but the doctor was in charge. He would follow orders and only keep them out of the restricted rooms.

"Hmmm... I wonder what happened to them." Ezekiel rubbed his chin, while underhandedly trying to read the guard's expression. Then he remembered the Shadow Girl - she must've been from the first batch. Was she the only one who survived? Then again, he couldn't tell if the others were really new or were faking it. He decided to get back to the mission.

"Listen, I'm sorry to bother you with this, but we are on a timed research mission given by Vlad. Could you point me to the library?"

The guard snorted. "I could point you in the right direction but if this was an enemy base you would have no one to ask and if you were stupid enough to ask you would probably be killed. You will have to find the library on your own."

"An enemy base?!" The young man raised his eyebrows. This changed his entire understanding of the mission. He considered saying something about the man being an enemy guard and other things involving knocking him out and picking his pockets. "Well then, are you going to stop me from trying to enter this room?" He gestured at the door next to the guard.

"No. The doctor said you were to have access to all but a few of the rooms. This isnt one of the restricted rooms. I am just here to make here you dont damage or take anything." The guard told him. He watched the boy to see what he would do next.

"I see. Thanks." Ezekiel looked at the door before turning to scan the entire hallway. It was important to know he wasn't supposed to sneak around or break into places. He figured he'd best check all the rooms, mark their purpose on the map, and continue from there. But since he had no pen and paper on him, all he could do was check the rooms in his immediate vicinity.

"I'm Ezekiel, by the way." He told the guard over his shoulder before entering the room at the end of the hall. "Have a nice day."

"I know." The guard answered without hesitation. He knew all the teens, their abilities, and their crimes. He was familiar with the skills that had been documented. He watched the boy in the room. It was a simple storage room with suppilies like towels, sheets, and blankets. Nothing that was helpful to the teen.
Chris thoughtfully picked up his phone and examined it. It was a simple model, with a beautifully rendered 3D wallpaper of a strange shape which he knew was one of the molecules in beer. He thought it was pretty clever. While he didn't remember giving the USF his personal number, it wouldn't really stop them from getting it, would it? Shrugging, he began taking the battery apart.

"Alright, let's go contact this person before we proceed." he finally said while making his way to the entrance.
We're waiting on everyone. I'm leaving it up to everyone to get scooped up.

Does this mean every character is supposed to find a way to be defeated by these guys? Do they have stun weapons that go through the guys' defenses, like shockwave guns or tranquilizer darts?
@Peaceless
Do I need to post again?

Uh, I think it will work better if we make a short collab about it. I don't see another way to avoid one-line posts.
Chris wanted to protest against Eith's inaccurate perception of the difference between failing to measure something and it not existing, but decided against it. She was releived and it was just as well. Besides, the next time he sets up this kind of experiment, he will be able to look for it actively.

"Well, if this Watcher brought us, at least some of us, together, maybe he has a plan." He offered. "And if this line of thought fails, Cassie can always teleport supplies in here, as an immediate solution. Since we're being actively hunted, it's only fair we take from our hunters."

He looked around the room. "I can try set up a working monitor if that's this Watcher's way of contacting you."
I was actually hoping that either Mika or Chris would be Walt's cellie :)

Healer LFG
I agree with thatguy. Whoever wants prison sex with Chris gets a free permanent erection disorder.
Chris recoiled from the gunshots around him, and almost immediately dived towards one of the victims, ignoring the fake UPS man. It was a girl, kind of, with a frail thin body, half of her head shaven off, more piercings than a group of death metal fans, and above all, a hole in her face just above the right eye. He extended a hand towards her, slowly, as if in a dream... But when the gunshot on the phone finally registered, it slowed his world to a halt and shut down all his senses.

His knees, already bent over the dead raver, gave out, and he sat down on the ground, his eyes staring ahead. He slowly became aware of a searing pain in his chest, one without any physical source. It was raising strange alarms. He wanted to kill and die all at once, and when the hands closed on his arms and shirt from behind, pulling him into darkness, he felt for some skin with his fingers and sent a shutdown command to the heart. There was a low grunt, and eventually the hands began letting go. There were voices of panic and anger, muffled by his apathy, then a strong hand grabbed him by the back of the neck and slammed his face into the van's door.

"You better stop this right now or I will fuckin gut you, mutie!" someone growled from behind him. He turned his head slowly, adjusting his eyes to the darkness. One of the special forces guys was clutching his chest, his eyes wide and bulging. But when Chris extended a hand, nother black-clad man, who most likely was not paying attention, lunged towards him. The scientist absentmindedly pulled him to the floor and climbed over him on the way to the choking man.

He was met with a gaze of helplessness and horror. The man was breathing rapidly, his lungs useless with his pulse set to almost one beat per minute. He put a hand on the man's exposed neck, whose breath slowed within moments. But as he looked at Chris with gratitude, the young man's stone-cold stare returned the fear into his eyes. Yes, you are nothing but a machine to me, the glass-shielded eyes said, and your life is a wave of the hand away.

They pulled him away eventually, and he folded into the sitting position they forced him into a few minutes ago. They were all in a hurry to let go of him once he was sitting, but he did not notice any of it. Slowly shutting down his senses, he closed his eyes and withdrew within himself. He thought he should've noticed something in the way they referred to him, but it was all far away...
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy did you kill the girl?! TT___TT
Chris turned his head to Edith. "Brain damage... No,that's... That's a very complicated test, unless the damage is extensive, and I would've felt it when I..." Chris fell silent suddenly. He didn't tell her, did he? "When I examined you, before the scan. I used my ability to see if you're in danger. If your brain signals were severely distorted, I would've detected it. Higher resolution required the sort of equipment I had there."

When he turned back to Ryan, he felt a need to select his words very carefully. There was a wide variety of explanations he could give Ryan that would prevent experimentation on him forever, with or without him also attacking Chris for even suggesting it.

"I want to see if you are healthy and that there are no destructive processes in your body due to this crystallization." He finally said. Technically this wasn't a lie - but in all honesty, the large man seemed fine, and any violent transformation was probably behind him already. Ryan narrowed his eyes with visible suspicion, and slowly raised his hand, palm down, so it was obvious he did not want to cooperate. Chris noticed this, and wondered if being a woman would make this easier. He stepped closer, his hand on Ryan's forearm.

Searching for surface signals... none detected. Adjusting sensitivity... Changing to active mode... Chris raised his eyes at Ryan's face, who in turn tilted his head. A high-current surge of information made the scientist hiss and reel back. He carefully renewed contact a few moments later. There was no neural information flowing through Ryan's body - when he wasn't moving. Chris pushed against his arm and after Ryan realized he wasn't trying to topple him and moved it slightly, the high-current signals returned. Chris wiggled Ryan's arm back and forth a few times, then sighed and stepped back.

"I can't read your body." he finally said. "This is what I assume would happen to humans if their body stops being a collection of cells and becomes a... solid." He cringed inwardly at his inability to foresee this. "But - with enough experimentation time I am sure I will be able to adjust -" While saying this, Chris noticed Ryan's leer and took a step away from him. "Look, just think about it, okay. With the stuff I can do with my own body, yours might be a whole world of undiscovered phenomena."
