Daz led the charge for the most part, being the first one on the stairs with the others porting in just behind him. But he was quickly overtaken by several of the faster prisoners. His steps faltered unsteadily as he felt another death, a sickening feeling in his gut, but it wasn't one of the Deviants at least. With every step he cast his mind out as far as it could reach, taking in everything he could find. There! Daz snatched the stray half-thought from one of their pursuers; "Mr. Whittemore is going to be pissed-" A name! Mr. Whittemore... who the hell is that?

"Get it together. Survive."

Yeah, keep it together. I will survive this! He mustered as much determination as he could, but he was being buffeted on all sides by quick, panicked thoughts and powerful, erratic emotions. It was hard to keep focused.

Then he noticed a really sickening thought; "Better than cutting them open at least-" Accompanying the thought was an image of a young girl who had been cut up like a frog in a school lab. They were going to do that to us...? Daz felt sick at the mere notion of being dissected, to have it thrust in his in all the detail of a memory- "Shit!" He cursed fearfully. He flinched as another wave of pain and death washed over him. Seven, he thought, his anxiety building. He'd never thought it was this bad, he'd been sitting in his cell for three days imagining he was just going to be poked and prodded for blood samples, not murdered!

One of the Deves ahead of him was a dark haired woman about his age, and judging by the sheer damage she wrought on the door her impressive telekinetic abilities far surpassed his own. At least they were out, he followed the flow of relieved Deviants out into the fresh air. It was wet, as if it had just rained, and they were in a field beside a large concrete warehouse. Not far was the treeline, tall, thin evergreens forming a ring around the empty grass. The ground sloped sharply just before the wooded area, going into a steep, rocky incline. Mountains could be seen in the distance, and Daz got the feeling they were at the base of one.

A loud, harsh rushing sound assaulted his ears, forcing him to take note of the large waterfall behind the complex. He'd been avoiding the thought, but faced with this landscape, the accents, and a name like 'Toketee', it seemed they were most definitely in America, Oregon must be a state then. He doubted he could safely teleport all the way home from here, but he was willing to give it a try. His attempt quickly failed, maybe it was too far, maybe not, but his powers wouldn't reach beyond the glade.

Steeling himself to the best of his ability, Daz kept running, moving as fast as he could towards the treeline. Porting doesn't work! He informed his fellow escapees, keep running!

Sorry the post is so late, what a day! But I promised a post and it may be 1:30 in the morning, but a promise is a promise!

Sorry if I'm unclear again or made a few mistakes, I'm really tired and on mobile, so you know... kinda crappy at the moment.

Bunny was mildly surprised to sense other minds like her own. She'd always been sure she couldn't be alone in the world considering the alternative too absurd to think about. The thrill of the discovery that she wasn't alone gave Bunny a surge of energy that refreshed her previously expended power.

It was when she received the images of the woman flipping the truck that Marjorie (Bunny) that she caught the thought of Toketee Falls and the urgency of her needing to port there. Briefly she thought of trying to fight back against her captors and rescuing others but her hostage training had taught her that when presented with a chance to escape she should take it.

She was just about to ignore her training when around the corner came two men armed with guns and as they pointed them at her she did the only thing she could think of doing an teleported both men into the cell she'd escaped from.

She headed off down the hall keeping an eye out for others like herself. She chuckled to herself nervously when she thought how miffed the security director of her ship would be that she wasn't running for the open.

As she walked down the strange hall Bunny opened her thoughts in an effort to detect anyone around herself.

Bunny would quickly discover twelve others, thirteen including herself, fourteen including the woman on the surface. They were gathering in a corridor nervously.

Daz cast his own mind out, confirming the locations of the twelve Deves and assessing the thoughts of their rapidly approaching detainers. He brushed the thoughts of another, a woman on the surface, but then his attention was pulled outward once more.

"Find a way out, I'll hold these idiots off"

Daz stood straighter at the order, briefly wondering if he should help the man, but then he brushed off those thoughts. They needed to escape and the man wouldn't have offered himself up if he couldn't handle it. "This way!" Daz said, expertly plucking a map from a guard's mind. He had a lot of practice digging around in people's thoughts for the information he wanted, particularly answers on tests and occasionally he went in search of the truth if he felt a deceptive mood around someone.

Daz thrusts the information from the map into the minds of the Deviants, they would now be able to navigate the place as if they'd been working there for two months. He also mentally whispered their destination to the others; there was another stairwell at the end of the opposite corridor that would lead to the back entrance on the surface.

Daz didn't need a physical cue to use his powers, but he found it certainly helped. Taking a step and reappearing elsewhere, gesturing with his hand to move objects, or initiating skin contact to read thoughts. The physical action helped focus his ability, so he made to do that then, taking a step forward- but what's that? The sudden appearance of men in suits and holding handguns surging through the end of the corridor, the opposite end to where the other man- Lucas, was running his very noisy interference, gave him some pause.

It also seemed to make the others freeze in apprehension, and that second was all that was needed for it all to go horribly wrong. The guns seemed to go off in sync, and shrieks of pain, fear, and surprise formed a cacophony of both physical and psychic noise. Daz stumbled back as he felt his fellow Deviants die.

Just like that thirteen was suddenly eight.

NO! That was the woman on the surface, her grief and rage were fused and radiating like a giant sun of hatred. Brushing her thoughts, Daz discovered her daughter was one of the prisoners, and just then the little girl had died. The infuriated mother was suddenly aiming to kill, and then a serious of confusing emotions and thoughts twisted in her mind, and then she died too.

Daz's hands were pale and shaking, he dint wait a second longer and teleported to the stairwell immediately. TO ME! Now! He mentally commanded, his thoughts mostly on the man who had went to distract the other guards.

He spun on his heel and began racing up the steps as he felt others porting just behind him. The guards had left this section, they were almost free! They just had to get outside and surely that would be enough to escape completely!

Lucas felt the guards approaching and made a descision. It's time for payback, He thought. Stepping out into the corridor, he shouted out to the people around him.
"Find a way out, I'll hold these idiots off" He started off to find the guards and soon he heard them approaching from down the hall. He whipped himself into a vacated cell and waited for them to pass. As soon as they had, he reached out with his mind and shattered every light bulb in the hall.
You have made a terrible mistake, now you will pay, he broadcasted telepathically to the guards before sending a wave of force blasting through the middle of the group. Guns went off in the darkness sending sparks and bullets flying through the air. Lucas erected a weak barrier to shield him from any stray fire that might come his way. He then loosed a banshee scream before picking up a man, slamming him into the wall, and flinging him towards his friends

The men, more long-contract mercenaries than actual trained guards, were skittish enough around the prisoners without being attacked with their supernatural powers. A hail of confused bullets and angry shouting voices were the only answer they could muster to the terrifying psychic scream that invaded their minds. The bullets seemed to do more damage to themselves than to their target, and soon they were up and running, or limping, back the way they'd come. One man didn't rise, two bullet holes in his forehead.

A sudden palpable feeling of death and loss would wash over him then. At least one of his kind had died, many if the way the sharp and thick feeling settled was any indication. TO ME! Now! A voice suddenly called out to him, the first shout was verging on hysterical, but by the end of the command the voice had settled more into worry and fear. A location would then be forced into Lucas' thoughts; an image of a stairwell.

Sorry for the confusion, I'll try to be more clear in the future.

I'm very bad at making myself clear, sorry, let me explain a bit more what's going on OOC. The Deviants are currently being held in a temporary bunker under Toketee Falls, Falls as in water fall, and since running water interferes with their abilities they are essentially trapped in the bunker, unable to use their powers to escape the area with the falls so near, but still able to use them to some extent now that the power feeding water into the walls of their cells has gone out. The images revealed when searching the minds of the enclosing guards are of a woman, a Deviant, attacking the surface of the bunker at Toketee Falls. The location is important in that that is where they currently are. The group needs to work together to escape to the surface and then out of the vicinity of the falls so they can make their escape.

The idea of starting imprisoned is that everyone gets a chance to meet and work together, and then hopefully they'll feel inclined to stick together now that they know people are after them and know who they are.

He'd grown so used to feeling the emotions around him that he hadn't even noticed when that ability was returned to him. The sudden flashes of joy as his fellow Deviants suddenly became aware of their ability to escape. Frustration, anger, confusion, fear, and many other negative emotions still radiated from those around him, but at least it wasn't hopeless anymore. Focusing on the locations of those around him he began counting with the intent of discovering exactly how many were-

A door suddenly crumpling like paper and launching into the far wall startled him from his mental inventory. The noisy bang the action produced served to increase the general level of nervousness around him, but it had also reminded him others were still trapped. He hastily ported into the room across from him, grabbing the occupant by the wrist and porting back into the corridor. His carry-along was a young girl, maybe thirteen, she couldn't have had her powers for very long... Well, there was nothing for it now. He let go of her immediately so she wouldn't think he was threatening at all. Many of the others seemed to have made it free on their own by then, as it turns out it was hard to hold a Deviant, which made it all the scarier that somehow these men had done so, for a while anyway.

With his mental searching Lucas would stumble across the minds of a large group of guards heading towards the escaping Deviants, their thoughts were jumbled and full of panic. The most that could be discerned was there had been an attack on the facility of some kind, by Deviants no less. Accompanying the image of a middle-aged woman throwing a giant truck off a road with her mind was a location; Toketee Falls, Oregon.

The corridor the Deviants were imprisoned in was the only clean, hospital-like one. At the end of it was another large metal door, which was unlocked, and beyond that was a labyrinth of concrete tunnels leading in all directions. Soon the guards would be on them, and another group of guards- no, not guards, these were bounty hunters, of a kind at least, the ones who had apprehended the Deviants in the first place, and they were coming in from behind. The guards and snatchers were going to pincer them and trap the Deviants in their corridor if they didn't move soon.

So a couple things I wanted to talk about;

We're all clear on the inability to kill thing right? Do we also want this power to extend to animals as well?

Now, Deviant sounds a bit clunky, better than Tomorrow People at least, but still just a bit complex. Would it be confusing for Daz to shorten it to Deve?
