Despite their primary status as a manufacturing company, the Valun family have a legacy of huntsman and warriors dating back to before the great war, with most heads of the family undergoing training to become huntsman. In keeping with the family legacy, Gauthak enrolled at Signal Academy at the age of 13, specializing in combat while maintaining average academic scores, he quickly began to favor heavier weapons, allowing him to take advantage of his naturally superior stature. Not long after enrolling in the academy, he met Alivia, a girl who had lost a leg in a grimm attack as a small child. Innocently enough he had a prosthetic made by the family company designed specifically for combat use, however the simple gesture of kindness has since led to a much deeper relationship between the two. At the age of 17, after graduating from Signal alongside his now girlfriend Alivia, he applied for Beacon Academy, easily completing the combat trials and acquiring consistently above-average academic scores. At initiation he manage to ensure he was partnered with Alivia and they were placed on a team with Argento Caden and Naeva Tacitus, with himself being appointed leader.
Personality: A very friendly young man, Gauthak does his best to avoid physical confrontation as his size and strength put him at what he considers an unfair advantage. Still, he will not hold back in a fight and will not hesitate to utilize his full physical might. Very protective of his team and particularly Alivia, he will at times step a bit out of line in a misplaced attempt to defend her when she is fully capable of guarding herself. Alivia’s parents are farmers, living at the southern edge of Vale. When she was 3, the settlement they lived in just outside the wall was overrun by Grimm, during the incursion she was trampled by a charging boarbatusk, the damage mostly concentrated on her right leg causing the limb to be irreparably damaged. Her aura was unlocked to help the wound stabilize during the flight to the nearest hospital. As a result she has an abnormal level of experience with utilizing her aura and semblance. In order to help her control her aura Alivia has been tutored in basic techniques since she was a small child by one of the huntresses who helped secure the fallen village. At the age of 13, she enrolled in Signal academy to begin formal training, unfortunately her parents were unable to afford the grade of prosthesis needed for a huntress so she struggled for her first few months before meeting Gauthak Valun, the heir to a large fabrication company, who took to her immediately, surprising her on her 14th birthday with a custom built prosthetic designed for combat application. After 3 more years at Signal Alivia graduated and applied for Beacon, passing the written test effortlessly and completing combat trials with some difficulty. At initiation she was paired with Gauthak by blindfolding herself to ensure she made eye contact with him and the two were placed on team VLCN alongside Naeva Tacitus and Argento Caden.

A very kind soul, Alivia is rarely without a small and enjoys socializing, often playing the hyperactive and bubbly one, although she is actually more relaxed than she lets on. Despite her upbeat attitude, she does have some insecurities, specifically a fear of making a mistake during an encounter and causing someone else to come to harm, though this concern is as of yet unfounded. When in private with her friends she tends to return to her normal calm but happy attitude, talking and playing games. Alivia is very serious about her path towards becoming a huntress and as such studies regularly, preparing thoroughly for any given mission or assignment. 3)Characteristics
Background: Argento was born in Atlas, the son of computer technicians working at the CCT main hub. By poor luck, he was born with type-1 Osteogenesis Imperfecta (commonly known as brittle bone disease) however his parents connections and moderate financial standing were sufficient to ensure he was well cared for medically throughout his life, up until the age of 13 when he was outfitted with an exoskeletal support system, and upon his insistence they allowed him to travel abroad to Mistral where he attended Haven Academy for four years in preparation for a career as a huntsman. While there, he augmented his simple medical brace into a much more rugged combat-friendly model with improved ability to absorb impacts, developing the newly christened Fictus Corpus alongside a portable railgun by the name of Ballistarium, these weapons followed him through until he moved to Vale following graduation from Sanctum.
After moving to Vale, Argento enrolled in Beacon Academy, passing the theoretical exam with flying colors and skimming by the combat tests by luck and quick thinking.
During initiation, he was pared with Naeva Tacitus and placed on team VuLCaN alongside Gauthak Fulgure Valun and Alivia Lyn Vitrum. During his second year at Beacon his team lead a mission to clear out the tunnels beneath Mountain Glenn and seal them off permanently, during which he was severely injured. As a result of his injury, he underwent extensive surgery to reinforce his skeleton, namely by infusion of stone attribute dust to harden the bones. While he no longer needs the brace to function in combat, he still wears it as it further augments his physical abilities, and has removed some of the damage absorbing features in favor of a dust-powered propulsion system to improve mobility
Personality: A very forward but polite individual, Argento tends to speak in a friendly manner, very much enjoying conversation and the avoidance of conflict, this has lead to him being fairly good with using his words. Argento is quite likable and does his best to avoid objectionable behavior, though he has a nasty habit of opening most conversations by hitting on the recipient, he will quickly back away from this if it is unwanted or he does not receive a response. Argento is the most intelligent member of his team and favors strategy games, often taking the role of battle planner for team VLCN while allowing Gauthak to issue commands in the field.

Background: Argento was born in Atlas, the son of computer technicians working at the CCT main hub. By poor luck, he was born with type-1 Osteogenesis Imperfecta (commonly known as brittle bone disease) however his parents connections and moderate financial standing were sufficient to ensure he was well cared for medically throughout his life, up until the age of 13 when he was outfitted with an exoskeletal support system, and upon his insistence they allowed him to travel abroad to Mistral where he attended Haven Academy for four years in preparation for a career as a huntsman. While there, he augmented his simple medical brace into a much more rugged combat-friendly model with improved ability to absorb impacts, developing the newly christened Fictus Corpus alongside a portable railgun by the name of Ballistarium, these weapons followed him through until he moved to Vale following graduation from Sanctum.
After moving to Vale, Argento enrolled in Beacon Academy, passing the theoretical exam with flying colors and skimming by the combat tests by luck and quick thinking.
During initiation, he was pared with Naeva Tacitus and placed on team VuLCaN alongside Gauthak Fulgure Valun and Alivia Lyn Vitrum. During his second year at Beacon his team lead a mission to clear out the tunnels beneath Mountain Glenn and seal them off permanently, during which he was severely injured. As a result of his injury, he underwent extensive surgery to reinforce his skeleton, namely by infusion of stone attribute dust to harden the bones. While he no longer needs the brace to function in combat, he still wears it as it further augments his physical abilities, and has removed some of the damage absorbing features in favor of a dust-powered propulsion system to improve mobility
Personality: A very forward but polite individual, Argento tends to speak in a friendly manner, very much enjoying conversation and the avoidance of conflict, this has lead to him being fairly good with using his words. Argento is quite likable and does his best to avoid objectionable behavior, though he has a nasty habit of opening most conversations by hitting on the recipient, he will quickly back away from this if it is unwanted or he does not receive a response. Argento is the most intelligent member of his team and favors strategy games, often taking the role of battle planner for team VLCN while allowing Gauthak to issue commands in the field.
