Username: PharaohAtem Character Name: Rose Barker Character Age: 19 Character Gender: Female Appearance: this is her hunting gear but she will start wearing it on a regular basis when the Fourth Dimensional creatures attack. for now she wears black steal toecap boots, dark blue jeans, black leather jacket and a blue tank top hight 5'4 Fourth Dimensional Power: Sound Bio: Roses farther joined the military with his brother the two spent many years serving their country Roses farther became a demolitions expert while her uncle was a skilled sharp shooter. When Roses mother got sick with cancer her farther left the military to take care of his wife and child he put the he learnt in military to work by getting a job demolishing buildings. Roses uncle retired from military years later he built a cottage in the woods and lives a quite life as a hunter he visits his brother and nice on holidays and birthdays and Rose spends the weekends with him. Rose inherited her hearing powers from her father, and growing up in a city with her hearing she got a lot of headaches until her father taught her how to focus her hearing and block out unnecessary and other wise unwanted sounds by focusing her hearing on spastic sounds. Rose also took after her father in many other ways. Like her father she could be stubborn and thick headed but she also inherited some of his better traits like his focus and determination and growing she was always a bit of a tom boy growing up and as a result she was always bullied but she never backed down even when fight older boys this led to her getting in many fights, Because of this her farther taught military hand to hand combat but fighting and she got pretty good at, but she soon found out that fighting was not her only interest and her father was not the only one to teach her something. Rose spent every other weekend with her uncle she loved the tranquil and relaxing sound of the woods of the woods. When Rose was 13 he started to take her hunting with him as a way to hone even more. Rose didn't enjoy at fist because she felt a little guilty killing defenceless animals but he explained that it was the natural order of things and that the animals that they hunt have had a much better life then the ones she was use to eating although this explanation did not make her feel any better she decided to give it a try and after she got used to the killing she did start to enjoy it and even started to set traps for her pray. On her 18th birthday her uncle got her a pet dog who she named Spike witch she decided to train it as a blood hound to help her rack her pray she even want as far as to give the dog the Fourth Dimensional treatment Spike ended it getting the power of smell witch was perfect for the purpose she was training him for. From the age of 8 Rose found out she had a talent for music she was able to learn to play any instrument just by playing around with it and what actions make each note. Rose then found out she could copy songs she had herd perfectly a she loved the sounds she could make and by the time she was 13 she could right her own songs. Around this time Rose began to notice her and her farther where not spading as much time together as she would have liked with school, music, and her weekends with her uncle and the fact he worked a lot to pay the bills they where just to busy to spend a lot of quality time together in fact for a little while the only time they would see each other was at meal time and when they trained together. Rose decided to took an interest in her fathers work and although this was mainly a way for her to spend more time with him she found it fascinating just seeing that kind of destructive force being used to employed buildings and the sounds of multiple explosions and the collapsing building. she and herd so much from those explosions after that Rose began taking more of an interest in her fathers work and planed to follow in his footsteps. Rose was not grate in high school this was not because she was stupid far from it she was quite intelligent but she had to many hobbies and interests and did not have much time to study but what she did have was focus and a plan for her future. Rose already knew what career she wanted so when she did have the time to study she neglected any subject that was not necessary for her chosen career. because of this she did very well in maths, science and engineering although with science she focused mainly on chemistry. After high school she attended collage with a good engineering program and continued to focus her filed of study to maths, science and engineering. she has become quite skilled at identifying the structural week points of any building simply by having a look around it. (do I really have to Mention the Fourth Dimensional Toe Cheese to be accepted! that stuff sinks?)

well I said maybe because if they had the kind of fire power that comes with sound manipulation and can easily pinpoint their target they would become the most effective at fight the guys from the Fourth Dimension. and like I said when I fist asked this could be considered OP so I am fine with not having the sonar and not having our hearing to be strong enough to hear heartbeats but that all up to you. I will get working on my application now.

another possible use for this technology would be a type of sonar this would help those with sound locate their targets. This may not be needed as if their hearing is good enough they would be able to hear peoples heartbeats witch would also allow them to locate their target.

Ah, okay, I'm 100% okay with it if it's weapon based, and not biologically based. I used to watch Batman Beyond and very distinctly remember the Shriek episode. Too bad he was dealt with almost as soon as the episode started. I feel like having extra abilities through the use of created technological weapons to be fairly good. Especially considering that if it does ever get too OP, or we wanted to make it extra challenging, the weapon could malfunction and not work. I only really questioned you a ton on it because I have a sound character as well, and I was wondering what other abilities someone with an extremely enhanced sense of sound could do.

well Shriek did retune later on for revenge but seeing him and others like him use sound to course mass destruction and thinking about how strong these guys made me think it would be a good weapon to have.

Yes, you could Pharoah. Though, I'm not sure where he would find them.... Since this is a convention, I'm going to be throwing out 'speeches' the company is making about their products, so if you have ideas, I can make them give a speech about one object or another. Then... when something happens... our characters can gather up some of these items, and use them to fight. :3. As for the fourth dimensional travel, it is not exactly instant. They move much faster than normal, and use their movement to make extremely hard to predict movements. Since they can move unlike we can, they might take a single step behind them, which might take them to the ceiling. Not right behind you as they'd like, but you probably wouldn't have known where they went. They would then be able to make a few more steps in other directions, and soon reach behind you. Since our characters will be stronger than normal, they will probably learn about these abilities, and learn how the monsters use them, and use them to their own advantage. It won't be INSTANT teleportation, and it's not exactly accurate, but it's pretty dang hard to hit something that has no pattern. And since most people wouldn't be able to see it.

as for the how this technology would be invented one idea is demolition by using sound waves one guy could knock down a hole building in about a minute with no explosives the building would just collapse so it would be quick, easy, safe, and thanks to the quickness and ease of it it would also be cost effective as just with one set you could knock down as many building as you want. The potential they would have as a weapon would also mean you could explain it by the military contracting you to build it as a weapon.

Now, would this be an attachment to the ear that amplifies this ability, or just something that naturally occurs within your character? I have a feeling it needs at least a minor drawback. When you switch it to this "reverse ear function," would it effectively rid your ability to hear while you do it? Because you're releasing sound waves rather than receiving them? So that you are very temporarily deaf until the release is over with. I'm not saying permanently deaf, but only when the ability is being used and at no other time.

well how it would work is they would use their Fourth Dimensional hearing to pick up on the natural frequency. Then use some sound based technology to create and direct sound waves controlling the pitch, frequency and focus those sound to one target or expand them to hit multiple targets but the more focused it is the more damage it could do. I was thinking of have the technology to create the sound wave a gauntlets. This idea comes from a few DC villains one of them from batman of the future called Shriek another one from this weeks episode of the flash called the pied piper both of them used gauntlets to generate the sound waves.

well you could say they can use some sound manipulation naturally but since this is based in the future what I was suggesting was if my character used sound based technology this would allow them to manipulate sound more effectively broadening the range of their abilities.

Ok and finally one last question I have an idea about how I could have a sound user fight back but you may consider it op. Their are a few people who use sound based technology and or powers as weapon in a number of anime or games because everything has it own natural frequency and since sound is expressed as a vibration if the pitch of the sound matches the natural vibration then it is destroyed although I don know if you would call it an exploration or an imposition. With sound based technology you could also use waves to create earthquakes send highly focused sound blasts at a target and more it would make for a very effective weapon. so what do you think would that be ok?
