It's tough being a supervillain in these United States. Really, it's not as easy of a gig as most people would imagine. Sure, pulling an impressive crime or two nets you a solid reputation- heck, your goals might even be considerably advanced. But inevitably, you catch the attention of a local superhero. Then comes the usual fight. Maybe you don't always get thrown in prison, but your plans always suffer.

In fact, there seems to be one superhero in particular you just can't help but come into conflict with. You fought them so many times that it's become familiar, almost intimate. You know this hero is your one truest enemy, and the feeling is mutual. There might be respect on both sides, or it might just be white=hot hatred. But you know one thing for certain- the two of you will meet again.

But there's just been an announcement that's going to change the game. The superhero you've been battling for so long is one of thirteen of the nation's top superheroes who are joining together in a team to fight crime nationwide. Superheroes are no longer going to be a local phenomenon. This means serious trouble for you as a supervillain, of course. But you have been invited to hear out the obvious proposition- to join forces with the personal nemesis of each of the new superteam's members. And maybe with the help of other supervillains, you'll finally be rid of that meddling superhero.

Alright, so in case that convoluted intro wasn't clear, this is a supervillain RP open for up to thirteen people. I've drawn up thirteen different superheroes from thirteen different cities, what you'll be doing is picking one off the list and playing as that hero's personal nemesis. Think like the Joker for Batman or Doctor Octopus for Spider-Man. Your villain might be a traditional foil, a complete opposite of the hero in methods or personality. For instance, a cunning manipulator up against someone dependent on brute force, or an idealistic zealot up against someone world-weary and cynical. Or maybe they're someone scarily similar, every bit as tough or strong or fast as the superhero. It's up to you.

If you have any questions, let me know!

These things happen, no problem.
Sorry about that, it can be easy to confuse the names.
Short little update for you guys.
Bruce dispassionately heard Wilson's report over the radio one of his bodyguards held up for him, then shrugged. "I'm not sure you have the complete picture, Mr. Wilson. There seems to be firebombing going on, some kind of masked arsonist with a flying device. It looks like some kind of terrorist attack from up here."

He paused, then keyed the radio again. "Those people are probably trying to get in the building for some kind of safety. Wilson, you cannot let those people in here. This building must remain secure at all costs. If it's compromised, the arsonist will burn this entire tower down. We cannot permit that."

In the streets below, chaos reigned. The fires set by the thrown devices used by the strange man were burning uncontrollably, spreading to cars and smaller structures. Thick, choking smoke spiraled upwards. While the majority of the crowd had fled, there were still dead and helpless wounded lying on the pavement. A few of the GCPD officers on the scene emptied their sidearms at the flying figure, hovering twenty yards or so above the ground. The few rounds that hit were deflected by the man's armored costume.

However, Arsenal's arrow connected solidly, completely covering the jets on the terrorist's flying machine. Slowly, he dipped down to the street, making a rough but controlled landing. Without the ability to fly, the attacker's main strength was now his numerous incendiary grenades- one of which he now raised threateningly, clearly aiming for the terrified group of protesters who had been trying to break into Wayne Tower.
I'll be posting soon to keep things moving.

"Finally, finally, finally," Loos exclaimed as the pickup truck pulled up. Now his plan was beginning to come together."Lekker," he said in satisfaction, resting the barrel of his submachine gun over his shoulder as he took another hit from his flask. "This ought to get that teringlijer out of the building."

Several of Loos' men, the same who had been searching the Palace, opened the tailgate of the truck and none too gently pulled out three men and one woman. Each were handcuffed behind the back and had been gagged. Loos nodded in satisfaction when he saw the first of them was Simon Wainwright, the BBC's field reporter in Valverde. The other three were Wainwright's producer, camera operator, and sound technician. Perfect. Four British journalists.

"Get them on their knees," Loos ordered his men after they had frog-marched them into the middle of the street, just a few yards from the front gate of the embassy. Wainwright and his crew, obviously scared but fairly calm, complied quickly, kneeling down side by side. Two of Loos' men stood behind them, FN FAL rifles trained on the four hostages. "I promise you, this, pal, if this works you'll have a lekker story," Loos said with a grin.

With that, Loos slung his MPL and walked slowly up to the front gate, hands in the air. Hopefully that gesture and the general nature of the standoff would keep him from getting shot. He leaned slightly over to work the intercom to the Embassy's security room outside the gate, normally used to communicate with the drivers of incoming vehicles. "This is Marten Loos of the anti-government forces," he identified himself. "If you aren't already, you should look out the front gate."

Loos paused to allow the defenders time to look before continuing. "I have here four hostages. British nationals, all of them, journalists from the BBC. You may recognize Simon Wainwright, the others are, uh," -he glanced down at the press cards that had been torn from the necks of the beleaguered newscrew- "Lee Thomson, Ravinder Mathur, and Alice Cooper. Wait, really? That's really her name?" he said, briefly forgetting himself. Loos recovered from his temporary shock and moved on. "What I propose is simple. Augustin Ochoa walks out, alone and unarmed, and surrenders himself into our custody. In return, we release the British into your protection."

"You have fifteen minutes to decide. If I do not see Ochoa by 1120, then you get to explain to your British counterpart how you are responsible for the deaths of four Britons. Tick-tock, Ambassador, tick-tock." Loos thumbed the microphone, then backed away from the embassy slowly. His men took ready position, thumbing off the safeties on their weapons. It never hurt to be prepared.
Great stuff, guys. I'm really digging the dynamic we're getting here. If you guys want to interact a bit, go right ahead, I'll probably post sometime tomorrow.
