His smile widens as his guest opens the door for him, a slight nod of thanks thrown his way as he walks past the taller male. Setting the basket down in the middle of his living area he carefully removes. Aryx's clothes and hands the sleek fabric over to his now companion. 'I hope I didn't damage it. The stuff it's made of is far finer than I am use to. . . .' He blinks at the offer of sharing fruit for breakfast, a warm feeling setting up in his chest at the thought of sharing another meal. He has no idea why the offer sounds so pleasing, but he turns away politely when the other begins pulling on his pants. 'Not my place to see such things, even if on accident' He muses, his hands now busy looking through the now clean clothes to find some to put on for the day.

When he hers the shuffle of a rougher fabric he turns to take his shirt from the man. He stares for a second at the other's bare skin, somehow finding the sight very interesting. He's of course seen others without their shirts on, but when Aryx's top is bare, it is almost as if he can smell the man better, and the scent is intriguing. 'It doesn't quite smell like all the others, but I suppose if you grow up in a different place, different things go into your body to make different smells' Shrugging, he accepts his idea and goes back to his search for his own outfit. Only to pause again when his guest offers to hunt.

His first instinct it to outright reject the idea, the thought of making a guest work so hard for a meal feeling somehow wrong to him. However after a few seconds he continues digging. 'This may be a good opportunity. I can learn more about myself, and get some fresh meat out of the deal!' “Well, the offer is kind, I do not have time this morning for fresh meat. However I would love to share in some fruit with you this fine morning.” He pulls out some sturdy pants and a long tunic triumphantly before turning to his guest. “Tonight on the other hand, I would love to got out hunting with you, if I won't be in the way. The best hunting is done in the woods, and no one really goes very far in there. I was thinking perhaps I could do some practice with my tail. . .”

He shakes his head a little. “That is if you don't mind me coming along. I know a lot of hunters hate bringing people with because they scare off the prey. I mean, I would stay back and all, but if you still think I'd be in the way and still would like to have meat I can just stay away in town and let you do your thing. . .” Realizing he's rambling a bit he crosses his arms, clothing still in hand, and looks off to the side. 'I'm babbling like a fool, I should give him the chance to actually respond. So stupid. . . .' he chides himself.
Alexi lets out a sift sigh as the man yells after him as he leaves. 'Still, such spunk. I feels so happy. I wish he would just believe me, but then it wouldn't be any fun. . . And he wouldn't be the leader I know him to be. I so wish he did not have to suffer, but at the same time, being able to see his anger makes me so happy' Alexi knows that his way of thinking is twisted, simultaneously fascinated and saddened by his actions towards and reactions of another sentient being. Part of him never wanting to see another living creature in a position like that, while loving his slaves and not wanting to let them go. 'I want them all to be free, but I want to keep them with me. Like a child who wants his cake, and to eat it too. However, this possessive desire of mine will have no place in the new world. My fellows will have to get over it, or die' He hums softly, biting on to a knuckle in thought as he tries to bring his passion level down.

As he enters into his and his brother's private dinning room Alexi's mind clears a bit and he is able to throw a smile Joseph's way, his finger dropping from between his teeth. “Good evening Joseph,” he says kindly, “Your timing was perfect.” He knows the elder vampire won't really get it, but knowing Alexi the way he does his guesses will not be very far from the truth. His smile widens as he sits down to his meal, the smell expelling the last bits of fog from his brain, his passion switching over to the fine cuisine in front of him.

“Mmmm, seafood tonight. Joseph, you always know just what I need. . .” His voice trails off as he offers a small nod towards the kitchens as well. After all, Joseph may have decided what he's to eat that evening, but it's the kitchen staff that actually cooked it. 'I would be at a loss without my slaves. I doubt even servants will become a common thing for several generations, if we. . . . He shakes off the feeling and takes a seat, beginning to eat slowly. “You can go if you have something you need to do Joseph, or if you'd rather just not stand there. I'll be in my study until well after midnight. Feel free to get your new task done then.” His voice is even, no different than what the other slaves normally hear out of him. His concentration on wondering how he's going to sleep tonight keeps his mind occupied for a while as he eats silently.
'You would, would you? Heal a demon even if not under orders? I believe you little mouse, you have no reason to lie, but you do realize what you are saying. Your kind is the life long enemy of mine. Saying you would heal me even without orders is tantamount to saying you would commit treason' He chuckles lightly. 'What could that information do for you? Well, if there was actually any chance that they would believe you, then you'd get out of this depressing job rather quickly. They'd schedule my execution the very next day. However from what I've seen, no one would believe him, especially since no one seems to take him seriously on any other matter'

As the boy begins to ramble on, Kuro just listens happily, letting the righteous anger wash over him like a small wood fire. Being a demon he could quite literally hop in a volcano and swim around like the lave is just thick water. Fire and heat represents home to him, so the burn of his impotent anger is a very happy feeling. When he at last falls silent Kuro chuckles happily at him, letting the sound putter off into a sad sigh. “It's sweet that you say you would heal me even without orders, but I doubt your fellows would let you In fact, I would be careful about saying stuff like that around them. They may take it the wrong way. They may think you're a demon sympathizer and bring your faith into question. Right now at least they think you're just trying to prove yourself, seeing all your eagerness because of that goal. If they begin to think any different, I shudder to think what would happen to my poor Little Mouse. . . .”

His voice trails off, letting the words linger for a bit before gazing up at the boy with a fond look in his eyes, abiet a sad one. “As to them trying to kill me Little Mouse. . . .No, they are not trying to kill me. If they were, I'd be dead already. They want me alive for now, and as soon as they no longer want that, they are indeed going to kill me. They could not risk sending me back to earth, unsure of what all I've learned here and what tidbits I could feed the other demons to help them kill your kind. That and releasing me back down there is like giving me permission to kill more humans.” He looks softly to his hands. “Though I have never killed more than I needed to, being a demon I can't help what I am or what I need, and all I've seen is a hall, a cell, and a small room. . .No Little Mouse, I will not survive this place no matter how badly you want me to live.” He gives Aoba one more soft smile. “Not all angels are a noble as you love. . . .They have no problem taking a life they do not see worthy of going on. . . . .”
~Someone is coming. He looks towards the bright color, a curious expression on his face. There is another here? Is this not where he is when he wants to be alone? No one else comes here any more. The great tree is no longer something of import that many people love to visit.

However his curiosity changes to shock as he realizes just who it is approaching. How come he is here? Why would that little one be here?

“No, not a little one. Zach. He doesn't like being called that.”

His voice is soft but carries on the wind. He climbs slowly to his feet, coming to them just as the young man comes within reach. He is still shocked and confused, but the happy place rubs slowly at those feelings as he reaches out to take the popsicle. It's blue raspberry, his favorite. He smiles at Zach, the light breeze playing with his hair, making it fly out to the side to catch the warm sunny rays.

“Ice yes. It's missing the cream though Zach, heh.”

Bringing the icy treat to his lips he takes a lick while reaching out to tap the straw hat gently.

“It's good you're wearing that. You wouldn't want the sun burning you bare skin. It has a hard enough time with what it's been through.”

There are not marks on Zach now, but he does not forget them so easily. On impulse he reaches out to touch where one of the wounds normally lays. His tongue continues to work the cooling treat as a sadness comes to his eyes, his fingers barely ghosting over the area on Zach's chest.~
Feeling his counterpart stabilize Seishu spares him a glance. Crios too glances at his lord but a few seconds later he presses on a tender spot on Seishu on purpose. Seishu growls, making Rue giggle, then the guardian looks to his doctor with an irritated look. “What? I'm relaxing, and look, Inui has done wonders for me. Though the lifetime expense isn't nearly worth it.”

Crios raises an eyebrow, unable to deny the speed at which his bruises are healing, but even that much negativity had done very little for the more severe wounds. “Let me fix the pillows a bit so you're not leaning on your arms like that.” Crios grumbles, and with a chuckle Seishu complies. As he sits up so Doc and Rue can fix his pillows, Seishu listens closely to what the siblings have to say. He stays silent, a serious look of contemplation on his face even as he settles back into his now properly positioned pillows. Despite Harper's joke, the general knows that the kids gave Seishu the wrong answer.

'Yeah, that's not going to win him over. Seishu's a tricky guy, which is why we were all a little floored over Inui. However from what he whispered to Crios, I guess the child is a special case' His ears rotate this way and that, one falling as Crios smacks Seishu in the head and tells him to be more careful next time. “Only Crios and Lord Enasi could get away with that. Even Rue would get in trouble for hitting him like that, and for Lord Enasi, Night would put up with anything. We each have what we can get away with, and you guys haven't found it yet'[/i]

Almost as if to confirm his assessment Seishu lets out a long sigh and shakes his head. “Sorry, no. You guys are in no shape to be my protectors. No matter what Enasi and the others say, you're missing something.”

Starla starts to protest, ready to say that as long as Lord Enasi orders it, that it's more than enough reason to carry out their duties. Finn however places a hand on her shoulder, silencing her as he asks, “You say Lord Enasi trusts your judgment, and I trust that now. However, could you tell us what you think we are missing? Perhaps we just haven't had the chance to prove to you we have whatever it. . .” His voice tails off as once again Seishu is shaking his head.

He lets out a long sigh. “Nope, I can tell right now.” He gestures to the general area in one sweeping move of his injured arm. “You are free to try and find out what your missing, feel free to look anywhere. I'm not saying you can never get the job, and you can come back as many times as you want to try again, but for now, go seek out the answers to your questions. Oh and,” he adds with a light smirk, “Come separately. I know siblings like to share, and I'll be able to tell if one told the other the answer.” Starla once again riles up but calms down as her brother looks to Enasi.

Crios meanwhile begins removing the bandages over Seishu's shoulder, the wound having re-opened with Lillium's blast. The blood soaked bandages make Inui cringe, but his curiosity gets the better of him and while Crios works he uses the opportunity to ask more questions about the Nightmare Realm. “So, you said before that minions scare fear out of people. What about nightmares?”

Seishu hisses lightly at the pain of having his wound examined, cringing at the knowledge that his re-opened stomach wound is next, but does his best to answer the little minion's question fully. “Well, when a particular fear is conquered, it has a chance of coming to stay in the Nightmare Realm, if I feel it belongs there, or one of my trusted minions. I have to turn down some nightmares, they not being right for and/or a danger to my realm. The same thing happens at the end of a human's life, if they die in terror. You dream dwellers avoid such happenings, so we have the chance to make out number bigger when you guys are off helping those who die peacefully.” Inui smiles faintly. He knows that dreams are only added to the Dream Realm at the end of a human's life but little more about the process.
Settling his face on the towel to watch the little angel he lowers his eyelids a bit when he notices that Aoba keeps having to that energy breaks. 'He's really working hard, using it up like that. Well, at least there's an endless supply around here' He lets out a sigh and a soft chuckle, “Yeah, it really is, isn't it? But, that's what you do to me Little Mouse. . .” he murmurs softly, a light smile on his lips. He closes his eyes briefly when Aoba admits to feeling a bit afraid of Kuro. 'Yeah, I am a bit of a monster when I'm ticked. And nothing pisses me off more than idiots who can't learn their lessons and take their frustrations out on me' His eyes open back up and he blinks slowly. “My snapping at you is because of the pain love. . .” His voice trails off as Aoba tries to ask hims something about the actual torture sessions.

However, unable to put the question into words properly the angel just moves right along to another question. Kuro chews on his lip a bit, a touch of hope finding it's way in with the oh so innocent question. With a smooth natural grace he smiles sincerely up at his medic. “I'm nice to you because you are nice to me. Even if you're only doing this under orders for your own reasons, you are gentle and kind, and there really is no reason for me to be otherwise.” He looks sadly at the wall, turning his gaze away from Aoba. “Even if you wouldn't do anything for me you weren't ordered to, the kindness is still there, and I cherish it. I'm not going to get lot of it here in what is left of my soon to be fatally shortened life, so I see no reason in driving you and your gentle hands away from me. . .”

Keeping his eyes forward he continues, this time seeking to answer the boy's half formed question. “I think what you were trying to ask before was how I get through my sessions without sowing any reaction tot he pain. It's not easy, but it is simple.” He lowers his voice, just in case the now snoozing angels guards are faking. “I simply remove that part of myself that reacts to pain. That angel, the blond? He's not use to his victims not reacting, so he just goes on not understanding that I am never going to give in because pain is not something that can force me to talk.” He at last turns his gaze once more on to the young medic. “However you have mastered the skill of getting me to talk. So how about it, want to know what my people are planning?” His eyes are clear, his smile only slightly devious, but his gaze remains clear of all but a soft layer of curiosity.
The look of shock followed closely by a crossing of arms and closed eyes is more than enough to make the little game worth it. 'Aww, no blush, but I can tell it kinda got to him' However the real treat comes when the kids at the end of the bed ask about their duties. Seishu's mind as always takes their words to the naughtiest place and he can not help the completely wicked grin that crosses his face at the idea of having his own little harem. 'She's even cute enough to make the cut. I normally don't go for girls, but she could make it' Rue begins chuckling lightly, face pressed firmly against Seishu's shoulder to keep from bursting out laughing when mind control is mentioned.

The Nightmare Guardian too feels a large wellspring of mirth building inside of him, but he holds it in carefully as Inui looks up at him curiously. The light shock from the doorway draws his attention to the rest of the entourage and he raises an eyebrow at the following comment from Harper. 'Ah yes, I and my antics are now well known, I am a legend before my time! Amazing aren't I?' Biting back his comebacks however he waits for Enasi to speak, keeping his grip on the minion's light. He knows he could throw Rue across the room and the little fairy would just be curious as to why he had to, but Inui is still settling into the idea of just what being with the Nightmare Guardian means so he listens closely.

Meanwhile Seishu contemplates what he saw before Enasi managed to close his eyes. 'That protective nature of his. I bet he's feeling a little off kilter with how close I now am to these two. That line about stealing his minions, wasn't completely without a touch of something real. It wasn't a completely humorous statement' However his eyebrow raises once again in question as the siblings, which they obviously are, state that they will take the job. Ignoring Harper's comment for now Seishu looks the plant minions up and down. “And just what makes you think I want you around? Did you even think for a minute that I may have a say in this, or are you so brainwashed at this point that you think as long as your own guardian says it's what he wants you to do that you totally disregard the opinion of the only other being in the universe who matches his status?”

They both seem taken aback for a moment, but it is the sister who recovers the quickest. At first she flushes angrily and snaps back. “You are only here because our lord wishes it, and it is by his will, and not yours that we are in this room. You may equal him, but you are not our lord!” A dark ripple passes through Seishu and Rue quickly grabs Inui and slides him off the bed, the both of them retreating to stand next to Crios who is in his usual spot against the wall. Both Harper and he have become a little tense, but not seeing any reaction in Enasi, let the scene play out.

Finn had tried to keep his sister from reacting, but as he watches the younger ones move away from the guardian he too tenses up. Seishu is staring at the pair of them, his eyes half lidded. However the normally seductive look is now rather more frightening than anything else. Inui clenches his fist, jumping when Rue takes his hand and smiles up at him. Inui calms down a bit but can not help but look immediately back to Seishu as a dark aura sets up around his body. From what Enasi had given him the day before, and the lifetime of pain and sadness poured into him from Inui, Seishu has plenty of energy to make a little show.

As the aura grows the two plant minions pull their weapons. Seishu raises an eyebrow, tilting his head, but says nothing. The siblings don't even seem to notice that their lord isn't acting out against the growing negative energy and instead focus on the guardian on the bed. Behind them just in Seishu's line of sight, Harper feels his fur beginning to stand on end. With a glance at Crios he can see the fox's tail fluffing up as well. 'What the hell is Seishu up to? Normally he's devious, not intimidating. Well, I don't know what he did with Crios, but for Rue, myself, and most definitely Inui, he didn't act like he was going to attack like this. Verbally maybe, but. . .' Harper's thoughts trail off as at last Seishu speaks.

The light in the room has dimmed, the dark energy enveloping the area. Seishu is careful however and he keeps it all well away from the room's occupants. Starla and Finn however are breathing hard, both of them not really sure what is going on, only that they managed to upset a very powerful being. Even if he is injured. Starla nearly jumps out of her skin when at last Seishu speaks. “You trust Enasi, right? Completely? You don't think he can be wrong about those really important matters you've all come to depend on him from, true?”

“Yes we do!” Starla snaps back, he hands tightening on her plant weapon. Finn nods in agreement, his fists tightening, the thorns seeming to grow slightly.

Seishu tilts his head the other way. “Are you absolutely sure?”

“Yes.” they say in unison, their energies meshing as the tension in the air rises.

Seishu brings his head back up with a cruel smile. “Then Prove it. Don't move.” They both look at him with wide eyes and they both swallow hard. A faint look of realization dawns on Finn's face and he motions for his sister to comply. She looks up at him with an intense look before nodding. The second her eyes are back on Seishu thick black whips of energy last out towards the siblings. He does not fault them their twitches at the sudden motions, but they hold their ground as the lashes stop bare centimeters from their throats. He holds them in place and speaks softly, but loud enough for the entire room to hear. “I have just proven how much Enasi trusts me. Even as my polar opposite, he believes in me and my actions, a kind of trust that shows a respect for me and my decisions.”

The two spare a glance at their guardian before returning their attention to Seishu. His whips retract, the air slowly clearing as he draws as much of the energy back in as he can. A light smile graces his lips as he continues. “I am glad to see you are willing to draw against me, it's encouraging, but I will say once again that I have a right here to say who I do and don't want around me. I don't expect the same things out of everybody, each being their own being and with their own personalities and talents. However,” His eyes narrow. “I do expect at least a modicum of respect even if you are not my minions. I am very fond of my counterpart, as well as my own life, so I would never actually harm you on purpose, but I also have a nearly uncontrollable temper which is most easily triggered by stupidity.” Letting out a sigh as the last of the energy clears the room his smile turns kind, his eyes soft and gentle. “So, if you would, tell me a little bit about why you think you want to take the job while Doc here keeps me from doing any real damage.”

As if expecting it Crios steps forward, pulling a syringe from his sleeve. Rue climbs up on the bed, pulling Inui behind him as they move around to the other side of Seishu so he can rest against the guardian's arm. Inui on the other hand settles a little lower on the bed, resting on his side with his head propped up on one hand so he can see both the siblings and Seishu's face. 'That was kinda scary at first, but somehow I could tell that he wasn't really gonna hurt them' the red eyed minion muses, looking to the green clad minions as they put their weapons away and seem to think seriously about what Seishu is asking of them.

Crios on the other hand leans in a little close to Seishu while administering his shot and whispers, “Kinda a bit rough on them, weren't you?” Without hesitation the Nightmare Guardian shakes his head ever so slightly.

“Unlike you guys, I can't read you at a distance. I've met Harper on the battlefield many times, so I already had a feel for him before I was trapped here. These guys however I have never met, and to get to know someone, the best way is to pull out their true nature through fear. For a Night like me at least. And before you go there, Inui is different, and I'm not saying any more on the matter of him. He is for Enasi and I to discuss.” Inui overhears his name and looks up. The intense conversation at the head of the bed makes him swallow and look over to Rue. Rue, who'd heard the whole thing just smiles at him, letting him know everything is alright. Seishu does not look to his counterpart, knowing he's going to have to hear for what he did from the red haired male, but for now he needs to focus on the green beings at the foot of his bed.
Kuro lets out a sigh at the young angel's attempt at staying strong. He has to admire the strength it takes for such a loving little thing to not break completely after seeing what he had seen. 'I bet there's a little part of him inside that is now a crushed little pile of dust, never to be recovered' His eyes linger on the young male as he begins working over his arm instead of insisting he turn around again. 'He is. . . . so interesting. Still intent on healing me, even if he knows more bad things are going to happen to me, and more often now, because of it' He hums a little, watching Aoba work through half closed eyes. With each drop of blood falling on to that pure white outfit, with every red patch now staining his once pristine garb, Kuro's eyes grow more intense.

'It's almost like he's washing himself in my blood. But rather than a show of victory like a demon, it's like an act of contrition. His attempt to show how sorry he is for what his fellows did to me. . .However that is far to convenient a thought for me. He is simply in shock' Kuro is a master of gearing everything down into what is the most probable meaning, only deviating when it comes to the the probability being anything that would mean someone actually cares about him and his welfare. In his mind, the boy is only upset because it was angels that hurt him. Under any other circumstance the young one would have fled in fear, not feeling the slightest bit of pity for the foul beast from hell. 'I can tell he is earnest in wanting to help me, but it can only be because he doesn't want his fellows making something suffer. He doesn't really care for me'

This thought doesn't bother Kuro, in fact it helps his cause seeing as such mixed emotions are easy to manipulate into what he needs. True, Kuro himself is fond of the angel, but that is an entirely different story. Once again Aoba starts cleaning the ground of the pools of blood. 'So fastidious despite your own appearance. He never ceases to be adorable' His gaze soften, a light sigh leaving his lips as he relaxes against the wall to watch. The light feeling inside rises again and as the little mouse looks to him the warmth shines from behind his gaze. He stares down into those beautiful eyes for several seconds before realizing what he's waiting for and with a light laugh he rolls carefully on to his stomach.

As soon as he begins working Kuro groans and rests his forehead on the ground, his arms stretched out over his head for a few seconds. Then with a huff he puts his arms under his head. He turns his face away from Aoba, murmuring words he never thought he'd ever say. “Don't think too harshly of them Little Mouse. They are just doing as they are bidden, as you all must do. From what I've learned the structure up here is pretty strict, and without it you guys'd be at a total loss.” He's silent for only a few breaths, his mind shifting slightly over to a question. “Are you afraid of me now Little Mouse? I can understand if you are, but I am no different now than the demon I was when last you saw me. I still use human souls to supply my energy, like angels do but a little different, and my greatest passion in life is still the written word. I kill when I have to, and I enjoy chocolate like bliss itself. Just because I show a different face to you Little Mouse, does not mean that it's false. Neither face is false, you just always bring out the kindness in me. . .” Knowing that if he keeps going he going to make himself ill, Kuro falls silent in his treatment, waiting for some kind of response, if the angels even still wants to talk to him.
I opted for dream :P After all, it's where things can get fun :P
He can tell that Zach is getting nervous so he carefully leans back, propping himself up against a counter as he watches the boy pull his shirt down. A lot of kids who come through his house have similar responses to close contact with other living bodies, and this isn't the first time Zach has responded with flushed cheeks to Kiel's innocent action. 'I have to be careful with this one. If he starts thinking that way about me, it would be disastrous to his recovery. I can not let him lean too far that way or else 'll have to be firm in keeping him at a distance. I've lost a few kids that way, and I'd hate to lose another one' At times Kiel curses his face, wishing he looked ugly or something, though for the really messed up ones, it wouldn't really matter.

However as it is his face helps him with his task so he tries his best to find other ways to discourage the kids. He smiles warmly down at the seated teen when he thanks him. “Not a problem Zach, it was my pleasure.” His voice is light and warm, his joy at seeing his grateful face making him tingle happily inside. He nods slightly. “Yes, bed would be good. I'm going to do some reading in my room for a while, then I too will be off to the wonderful world of dream, heh.” With that he reaches out and touches Zach's shoulder, once more having to correct himself from patting him on the head. “I hope the wounds don't bother you too much. Let me know if it's too hard to fall asleep and I'll get you something to help you sleep.”

With that he picks one of hi favorite books off the shelf and vanishes into his room. He sighs softly, crawling on to his old mattress and tucking his knees up while propping his back up against the headboard. 'I really hope he doesn't begin falling for me. There is something odd about him, but I want to help him non the less. If he starts leaning that way, I don't know how he'll respond to rejection. . .' With a huff he cracks open his book and begins reading. After only about a dozen pages a huge yawn tells him it's high time he passed out. So tucking his book into his bedside stand in a small drawer he Snuggles down under his covers and is soon asleep.

~The light is warm. All around him the sun bathes the hill. High above the small town a lone tree sits, a thick branch holding a single old swing. He sits softly humming an old tune as down the hill the river babbles and churns. The breeze is warm, gentle on his skin. It is a happy place.~
