Part 3

(Teal) Green - Everyone is infected by the virus, only it is seen as a good thing. Society has adapted to the change, and the new powers are seen as 'the next step in human evolution'. Sasha is seen as a savior type figure, as he was the 'original'. Izea can either agree with the majority or hate what humanity has become.

(Teal) Red - Monsters haunt the streets at night, terrorizing anyone who is out at night. Izea is one of the few who knows how to kill them, but he is a recluse who hates himself for killing his best friend.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Green – Slowly I make my way into the kitchen, hoping to get a drink that doesn't taste like asphalt. I can still hear so much more than I should, and as the storm moves ever closer each clap of thunder makes me flinch, trying to crouch away from it on instinct. 'Thank god, the taps still work' The plumbing groans a bit as I fills a glass I pulled from the dish rack and my mind wanders over to the clutter as I sip the water slowly. 'I wonder what's happened here. The Izea I remember would never allow for things to get like this. The mess of stuff. . .Normally he has like, three garage sale a year, just to make sure we don't overflow with crap stuffed into every corner'

I look this way and that, trying to figure out what could be in the boxes when another clap of thunder makes me tench. I let out a yelp as the glass in my hand shatters. I stare at the tiny cuts, the broken pieces falling to the floor only to shatter further across the linoleum. 'I. . . .Broke it? By what, squeezing it? That's ridiculous. I mean, I'm not that strong. . .' As it begins looking more and more like I have some residual something or another left over from the virus I shake my head firmly, turning to wash my hand off in the sink. 'Well, at least my skin isn't like jello. I watched a few videos of what it was like to try and wound me. . .That was freaky'

I pause, my heart skipping a few beats as I hear footsteps on the stairs. I manage to filter out all other noise for a few seconds, allowing me to confirm that the sound of feet on stairs is coming from inside the house and not next door or something like that. Turning toward the kitchen doorway I waits calmly for the owner of those feet to appear, and when he does, I smile. “Hello Izea, good to see you my friend.” My nose tells me something is different about my old friend, however at this moment I do not really care as without a word Izea's stunned visage becomes one of disbelief, then moves right on into overjoyed and in a flash we are hugging and all I can do is focus on breathing and my friend's joyful sobs.

We take a few minutes to just take in eachother's presence before we make out way to the kitchen table and sit down, so much to get caught up on. I become more and more shocked as he tells me how the virus had mutated and spread, infecting the world over, however because of me and my genetic sampling, taken upon my 'death' the scientists we once worked with were able to come up with, not a cure, but something to stabilize the mentality of those infected. “They released it in gaseous form all over the globe, and other than a few rare cases, it was successful. Everyone is like you now, even me.” Izea speaks this with a note of pride, but rolls his eyes at the next part.

“A lot of people are claiming that this was the 'next step in human evolution' but I say it was just man's science creating a monster, then managing to contain the mess rather than cleaning it up. . .” His eyes glisten as he looks at me, it still clear that he thinks he may be dreaming. However after a moment my stomach growls and we both laugh. “Let me pull something out for us.” As he opens the fridge my eyes go a little wide at all the cuts of meat stacked up inside. He sees my widened gaze and offer me a slightly pathetic look. “One of the side effects. It varies from person to person, but as a result of the alterations, our digestive tracks become more able to handle either meat or veggies. I'm a meatavour, and even if you're not, we are all still technically omnivorous, so this should be fine.”

As he begins cooking, explaining that he like the meat a little on the rare side now, I look tot he mess in the front room and let out a sigh. “So, is one of the side effects in you case hoarding as well?”

_--_--_--_--_--_

Red – Thunder claps once more and from outside I can hear the beasts yelp and flee. The scrabble of their claws on the cement grates on my ears, but at the moment all I care about is finding out what the heck has happened to Izea, and the world for that matter. Brushing my hand over my nose to try and dispel some of the dust I look up the stairs, wondering if hes' in bed. 'It's a good a place to start as any' Shrugging I slowly make my way up the creaky steps. I have to dodge around a few scattered boxes, but as I reach the top of the stairs I still. 'That sounded like a gun' My gaze slowly shifts over to my left, towards Izea room, and as my focus zeros in I realize I can hear. Someone approaching his bedroom door.

Not wanting to get shot by my best friend I call out before he can open the door and mistake me for an intruder, or one of those creatures for that matter. “Izea? When in the world did you learn to shoot my dear friend? Last time I took you out shooting you managed to get bit by you hand gun. Slide bite, remember?” The footsteps still as I begin talking but after I fall silent I hear the loud clunk of something much larger than a pistol falling to the thickly carpeted floor of Izea's room. The footsteps resume, slow and shaky, and I remain still. The door cracks open ever so slightly and I can see Izea's familiar green eyes peeking out at me. I offer him my warmest smile however a moment later I flinch as the storm finally breaks right overhead.

He watches me fall into a crouch, holding my head with both hands with a groan. The door opens a little wider and my head comes up as I here his whisper, even through my hands. “Sasha? Is that you?” I offer him another smile and a nod.

“Yes, it's me my friend. . .” The door bangs open and I let out another groan at the sound, however he ignores this and tackles me to the ground. He alternates between hugging me and punching me in the arm as he rambles on and on about how bad he feels about killing me, and how he must be dreaming. I sit up best I can, marveling at the now faint muscle tone my old friend has. Before the change, I was the only one with the barest hint of muscle, but now it looks is if Izea has been working out. Looking at my own arms I notice that 'm abnormally muscular for what I last recall of my physical fitness, however I brush it off as Izea is once more punching my arm. “Yea, I am sorry you had to do you, but as you can see, I am not dead Izea, so could you stop trying to see how many bruises you can put on me in less than two minutes?”

He laughing, rolling off of me as he wipes away his tears. He apologizes and drags me back to his room where we flops down on his bed to talk. As we pass it I eye the large, vaguely odd looking, shotgun he had dropped earlier, but all my focus falls on him as we get comfy. He tells me of how the test subjects got out, and because of their invulnerability how the police and event he army have been unable to do anything about them. “They escape even the most well laid traps, and no one knows how to kill them. Well, almost no one. . .” He looks away and I can almost feel the shame radiating off of him. Placing a hand on his arm I nod for him to go on. “I. . .I have killed a few, the ones who get too close to the house at night. However, no one knows this because they drag off their dead before any humans can find them. . .”

He glances at me and answers my question even before I can ask it. “I thought a few times that I should give up the secret to killing them, but each time I do I. . I feel this sick pull in my stomach and I think of you, laying there. . .Dead by my hand. . .It's one thing to kill out of defense, but I. . .These were people once, and I swear, they are not as vicious as they seem to be, they just. . .'[/i] As he stops making sense I pat his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. This seems to calm him and he once more manages to look me in the eye.

And that is all for part three! I hope to see you all next time, and I can't wait to see your ideas!
*Smiles* Alexi is a selfish S.O.B. and his way of doing things is fare more guaranteed than anything else he could come up with, and even caving here lessens his chances of this working, even if it is in an unperceived manner by all until the plan's fruition. :P

"I'm just pointing out that there might have been less painful and more logical ways for Alexi to execute his plan, and still have Alexi gain everything he wanted."

Hmmmm. . . Bold statement for someone who doesn't even know what Alexi's aiming for with this aspect of his plan, don'cha think? Just picking on you, but the point still stands :P

There is only one part I can think of right now that puts in a snag. Even if he consents to this proof thing, he can't risk Erik leaving the room. No one must know Erik, the most revered of rebel leaders, ever underwent any kind of breaking, otherwise the faith in him will be shaken, his image, tainted. Even if in this case it not being a breaking, like Erik, no magical will believe that what happened was anything but a breaking, and would no longer trust Erik as they do now. . . I can't see Alexi letting him out of the chains. . .Unless Erik submits to some other form of restraint to keep him in the room, and the bathroom maybe. . .*Suddenly had bath visions* *Smacks self* Say on track here Pope. . . .
It turns, looking back to Aysus with a faint bouncing motion.

~Okay. We'll fix it, then you can play with the new thing.~

It works hard and fast, doing as instructed, in ways that feel only natural to it. Tahaan drags them in, and Aysus holds them. The threads try to flee, but the cloud has a lot of practice fiddling with loose broken threads and not a one manages to escape it's hunt for them. Pulled in tight, held in by the thing they made, the present for Aysus, growing smaller and smaller until. . .They are gone.

Tahaan wonders just what was made and looks around this way and that. Then it stills. There was something. In a sudden inspiration it begins wriggling and writhing about, and it hears it. That thing it had longed for, the thing to mark when something happens.

~Noise, it's noise, I can hear it!~

The glee coming from the cloud shaped figure is evident as it begins playing more and more with this new thing. The sound is quiet, barely above the silence, but as it plays it gets more and more idea of things to do with it. It nearly shivers apart when Aysus makes noise using the threads, recognizing it as a greeting, and replies by falling as still as it can, the noise giving way to silence. It loves this new thing, this thing Aysus helped it make, and with one last whirl around it's counterpart Tahaan races off to enjoy this new thing they now know as sound, leaving Aysus to do what it will, coming to terms with the new things.

It races along, full tilt, the light and dark giving it's travel a far stronger sense of speed, along with the faint crackling and hissing of it's body as it whips around and strums it's body along the threads. Moving far enough away as to not vibrate any of the threads near to it's counterpart, Tahaan behind playing with the new thing called sound. It begins by simply playing with the threads, thrumming them all at once, or plucking one at a time. The actions produce the same noise, but the input is far greater when more than one is struck.

On a whim it tears one thread and shivers delightfully as a new noise issues from the thread. Setting it aside it does that a few more times until it understands the noise completely, then in a flash, it rips apart an entire group of threads.

~The noise is louder the more of them I tear. That makes sense. It is a bigger happening, so it is marked by a bigger noise!~

An idea comes to it and after a little fumbling, it weaves together a small light. To it's supreme delight, a new sound marks the occasion, a kind of 'pop' that sounds very different from the noises it cam make with threads. As is it's way, it makes several others, making them bigger and smaller, seeing how that affects the sound, and then just like that, it shatters a light, just to see what happens. The sound is far louder than anything it had heard before and in truth, it becomes frightened of it.

Unable to come to terms with the fear on it's own it races off to Aysus as fast as it can. It ignores the sounds it's being makes as it races through their space, and as soon as Aysus comes into view it speeds up. Without warning it wraps around it's counterpart, shaking differently than usual and it seems to be trying to hid itself. It finds comfort being so close to it's opposite, and it has often wondered at this fact, however now it is simply happy for the comfort.

~Sorry. I frightened myself. . .~

Unsure of how Aysus if going to react to the sudden intrusion into personal space, it tries it's best to not disturb it too much even as it remains partially wrapped around Aysus' body.
Seishu stays still, letting the doctor clean him up like some toddler, too worn out from the pain and puking to even think to try raising an objection. However, the cleaner he gets, the more the smell starts to get to him. The stench of sweat, blood, bile, vomit, it all mixes together and the guardian has to try and focuses on something else least he start dry heaving again. The something else is easy to come by as Crios moves away from him, over to his still collapsed counterpart. The little banter between the two lifts his spirits, the selfless Enasi seemingly back in place, his underling as belligerent as ever. 'That is how things should be. Here, in the realm of dreams, it's okay to talk back. They are safe here, there is no need for strict adherence to rules an orders. . .'

He watches those skilled fingers work their way over their guardian, the fox man's focus that kind of intense you only find in those of the doctoring profession. Seishu hums softly, keeping his focus on the moment, desperately trying not to think about anything but what is before his eyes right now. He knows he will never be able to erase what happened from his mind, but that knowledge will not stop him from at least pushing them aside until he can deal with them properly.

As Crios stands after his examination there is a light knock at the door. As he moves off to answer it Seishu catches Enasi's attention. “Oi, I think we could both use a nice refreshing shower, what do you think?” Without even waiting for an answer Seishu pulls himself from bed and totters to his feet. He can feel the positive energy once more pounding against him and knows that Enasi must be recovering with it. Looking to Enasi he toddles over, taking his hand gently in his own, wiping it on his clothes first as to not pass his nasty on to his counterpart. With a light tug he pulls Enasi towards the bathroom attached to his recovery room.

Crios, who had been trying to keep everybody calm but also keep them from charging into the room now that things are starting to feel normal again, looks over towards the movement and lets out a sigh. 'Well, if he's strong enough for that, I suppose I can stop worrying so much. And with them out of the room, we can get this place cleaned up' Turning back to the rabble outside the door he murmurs, “They are getting cleaned up, so I want you all to come in and help me get this place cleaned up. It's kinda a little more gross than when we left.” They all look at him curiously and as the two guardians vanish from sight the gang comes in and begin cleaning. All but Starla and Harper. The two of them remain at the door. They can feel some of the staff beginning to move towards the room and want to be there to head off any trouble.
No problem, I'm just glad you are having fun :P

Matter and Space work for me. And yeah, Tahaan, Space, Aysys, Matter, is all good. I will get to scribbles on this today, I hope :P
If you do not agree with anything he just poured out, feel free to let me know and we can work it out :P
Rei keeps his gaze on the water, watching the fish dart this way and that, seemingly the only thing other than bugs that don't automatically freak out around him. While he watches them however his attention is firmly on the young man beside him. Now able to better understand what he meant by not believing in fae he settles him mind on the subject, perusing it no further. 'It is good that he has no such wishes as to come to the village, however knowing the fae as I do, I really do wonder how they could be viewed as evil. I know with out magics there are some evil things that could be accomplished with it, however there is not a fae I know of that would enact such evils willingly. . . He glances over at the prince, catching his wink without really catching it's meaning.

A moment later a long string of questions tumble forth from the human and Rei turns a little more so he can more easily look upon the curious man. He had an inkling before that something like this was coming, so as query after query tumbles fro his lips Rei slowly begins formulating the answers, the questions not all the difficult to remember. Rei has a head for detail, as is expected of a good assassin, so something as simple as recalling several passing queries is child's play. He blinks slowly, a little curious as to why he sees asking questions as childish, however he decides to answer the prince's questions before asking his own.

After a full minute of silence, all the while the fae looking at Alessandro with a rather impassive expression, he at last takes a deep breath. “A healthy fae can live for several hundred years, we are innately magical which is why despite my lack of formal training I was able to learn and implement magic, however certain kinds of magic require study, and at times, charms and potions. There are certain magics humans can learn, however, from my studies, the true magic blood that humans inherited by breeding with magical beings has been horribly diluted over the years, so certain levels of magic are unreachable by all but the most talented and magically inclined members of your race.” He pauses to take a breath, his fingers playing idly with the grass.

“Fae are indeed born with a strong spiritual connection to plants and animals, which is why animals do not like me, the taint on my soul repels them for the most part, and why I can not hear the plants when they try and speak to me. My fangs are sharper than a humans, as they are for all fae, thought I would not call them razor sharp. I have never personally killed a child, though I have been in the group when others have, however the fae in general revere the innocence of children and I do not see them laying a hand on a child in a vicious manner. In fact, there are records of human children being abandoned by their parents and raised by fae, which is how fae blood was once mixed in with humans, however after the war there have been less and less incidents of fae raising humans.”

He tilts his head to the side, trying to figure out where the last rumor came from even as he answers the question. “Fae do not go out of their way to obtain human children, though during the war, if a family was killed and only a baby remained the fae would take it in and away from the human village for the child's own good. Often times a baby left alive would be demonized and killed by the humans, thinking fae so evil that the only reason they would leave a baby alive is if the child itself is as evil as they. After several instances of this, the fae took to taking all babies away with them after battle, to keep the babies alive. Sometimes they would drop of the human babies off in other towns, ones outside the war, in hopes that this more passive village would take care of the children, and this was often the case. Often enough that after a while that became standard practice.”

Dipping his hand in the water he once more wets the back of his neck, cooling off a bit. “Human children raised by fae live a little longer than normal humans, but other than that, nothing about them changes, and I know of no instances where fae babies were given to human families, unless said child was the child of a fae and a human, and the human parent wanted to raise their child in the human world. However that has not happened for a long time.” Flopping back on the grass Rei covers his eyes with his arm and lets out a sigh. “I have never seen a unicorn, but they are still spoken of in the present tense by my people, so I'm sure they exist somewhere out there. As to you sounding like a child. . . .I do not think you sound like a child, only curious, and as no one every really cares what I have to say aside from “The job is done” I think it's kind of refreshing to talk to someone like this.”
New characters are always fun. Maybe someone that is actively trying for Shigetoshi? :P I think that would be funny :P And add the all important DRAMA! *Giggles*
Kuro falls off the couch after the impassioned announcement and subsequent physical contact. 'Wow, he must have slept really well, he's like the energizer bunny. . . .' With a groan he looks at the sunlight streaming through the window. “Relax Little Mouse, we'll not have to deal with the animals until later.” The suddenly crestfallen expression of the angel makes Kuro a little sad at the same time he enjoys the pouty adorable nature of it. Cracking his neck he pops to his feet and pulls Aoba into a hug. “Let's get breakfast in town, what do you say?” When the angel agrees Kuro shakes off his clothing, restoring them to looking quite pristine in a matter of moments, before walking them outside. Dani is bouncing around the yard chasing a hand full of large bugs hopping away from him. He pauses only a moment to watch them take off before continuing his hunt.

While Kuro is trying to carry on a conversation with Aoba while what seems like every teenager in town tries to catch his attention, Dani proceeds to take out as many bugs as he can before they travel too far from the house. He thinks of it as skill training, keeping his body in shape by testing his reflexes. After about a half an hour of this however he pauses, sensing something coming. His head lifts and he scents the air much like a dog would 'People, and animals. They mush be those “Farm Animals” Kurotama was talking about. And a buncha people. Yuck. . . .' Not wanting to hide, and following the rules Kuro set down for him, Dani takes up a spot on the porch, praying that one of them will try and get past him into the house so he could at least rough one up.

However as the truck pull up, an odd assortment of noises coming from them, his heckles rise at the holy feeling coming from one of the men. 'The hell? Why is there a priest here?! Priests don't belong here, they belong in churches and helping lost so-' His thoughts are cut short and he smacks himself as he connects the dots. 'Fallen angel, lost soul, got it. . .' He settles back down, still on edge, unable to defend himself all that much against a human priest with the rules in place, but determined to not go down easy if it comes to that. Father Gerard scratches his head, unsure of what to do next, when he notices Dani suddenly perk up. Turning to look in the direction the demon is staring he tries to see what aroused his attention.

Looking back at the demon for a moment Gerard turns around and walks off in the direction Dani is look and stares for several long seconds. Meanwhile, not too far away, Kuro's head goes up as he murmurs in agreement with Aoba's statements. “Um, we should hurry up. They are there, and Dani's not the most accommodating person when it comes to priests.” Taking hold of Aoba's hand he picks up the pace, running along until at last the farm and Father Gerard comes into view. The Father raises a hand in greeting and Kuro lets Aoba go to greet the man while he jogs past to deal with his brother. The latter bounds off the porch and plows into his brother, growling at the priest.

“What's that doing here, why aren't you squishing it, it's so nasty, it makes my stomach hurt, and I'm hungry, I haven't eaten since I got here days ago, I swear, I was too busy.” Dani rambles on like this for a while, hanging off of Kuro's neck from behind like a toddler. The position kinda chokes Kuro but he puts up with it, waiting for his big brother to stop talking long enough for him to get in a word edgewise. Meanwhile Father Gerard looks back and forth between the two of them and Aoba, raising an eyebrows questioningly. He is more than a little nervous to have such an energetic and obviously far more evil demon in the vicinity.
*Whines* *Rolls about* You really want this, huh? I got the distinct impression a while ago that you WANTED these guys to suffer. . . .And Alexi. . . .Doesn't wanna lie. He won't let the guy go until after the fourth dose, no matter what. . . .But I MIGHT be able to convince him to lie. . . .*Rolls around* Do you really want this? Really and truly?
