The glarefest has begun. The second in command refuses to back down even as one of his most trusted tries to get him to see reason. He really doesn’t want to pull the guardian card, but from the purple flames dancing around the shorter male's eyes, the elder of the naginata duo is beginning to realize it may be the only way to get Kaila to budge. 'His arms are crossed, he's already on fire, and I haven't even gotten half way through my argument. I know all I have to do is tell him it's an order from Master Seishu, but I really wish he'd listen to us more often. True, he's almost always right, but that's completely besides the point!'

With a huff and a pout Lan says respectfully, “This is an order from the top Master Seishu does not want to endanger the camp, so he demands that the entry point be far enough away that even when, not if, when attention is attracted to the point, the camp will not have to move.” Kaila's response is subtle, but those who know him well recognize the signs of him admitting defeat and with a lopsided smile Lan salutes and wanders back over to Ran so they can head back to earth to keep an eye on things.

Kaila isn't really noticeably affected by the sudden need to pick a new location. Seishu had guessed right, he basically wanted to put the portal right in the camp, however now with the new direction he will have to find a more suitable local, and soon. 'It need to be scoped, cleared, and secured. I'll need lookouts and at least three troops to watch it at all times, but the lower level ones so their gathering together does not alert the scouts from the other side. . . ' He walks steady through camp, passing out orders, responding to calls, and checking over the work done by the healthy nightmares and minions.

'We just got in a fresh group of wounded. . .I am sure it is they, and the children, that Master Seishu is thinking about as he gives me this order that compromises his safety' With a light sigh he makes his way to the edge of camp and calls for the last member of his personal warriors. The figure appears, as if out of the shadows themselves, but never really leaves them so it's features are obscured. “There has been a change of plans. The portal will be well away from camp, far enough that the camp will be in no danger of being found when they arrive.” The figure nods, head turning this way and that. “Once you find a good spot, come get me. Oh, and Tyar? Please be quick. . .” The figure bows, saying not a word as it seems to suddenly vanish. With a nod, Kaila heads back into camp to continue his rounds.

Finn and Starla bow low in thanks and, not wanting to pester the obviously uncomfortable dream any longer, take their leave of Harper. As he wanders off to do his duties before getting some sleep, the siblings head to the garden to check on it before they too his the hay. Finn stays silent, thinking over what they have learned, wondering about the parts the rabbit man glossed over, but most of all praying his sister didn't get any wild ideas from the story. 'The last thing I need is for her to aspire to take the general's place. I pray Harper stays in his post until time ends'

~Seishu dances back and forth, judging the maze big enough. The breeze carries his counterpart's voice to him and with a soft sigh he begins wandering closer. He does not know the maze by heart, so for fun, he just begins wandering aimlessly. He begins singing softly, loud enough to be heard, but quiet enough to make it difficult to pinpoint him.

Come find me, little Enasi.

Come and get, your dear counterpart.
~
Viltez flinches back away from Aryx as he spits out his first response. He does not even hear anything after that, his pent up panic and life long near obsession with keeping people happy slams into his mind, deafening him to all else but the rush of blood in his head. 'I knew it, I was being foolish, I should never had brought it out, I should have known better, all it does is bring me trouble. . .I hate being me! He can feel his innards crushing around the pain, the unknown, indescribable feeling of having done something so stupid, and willingly at that, all forcing him to curl in around himself.

As he curls his tail comes around to mimic the action, but as soon as he feels the brush of the fur on his arms his eyes snap open and he snarls. This noise, the bestial sound, is not something he has ever heard before, however he ignores it as his hand snaps out to knock the appendage away. Somewhere, deep inside, he knows he's overreacting, however he has not survived this long by ignoring his instincts to hide, these instincts that are currently tearing him apart inside.

The tail falls limp and like a shot he races off into the forest. He does not go far, his good hosting instincts keeping him from laving his guest completely alone in an unknown place, however he does go just out of sight before collapsing against a tree. He crouches down, hugging his knees, watching his tail twitch limply like a scared dog unsure whether or not it wants to comfort it's master, or it if would do better staying away. 'I am so stupid! Even with all the skills I pretend to have around the villagers, all this peace I've enjoyed over the years, I break my one cardinal rule, twice, just twice! And both times, it ruins everything. . .'

He can not understand why he is acting like this. Normally he is more collected, calmer, more able to deal with such things. He can not see the invisible threads of magic normally around him, those little tiny bits that still connect him to nature. He can not see the change they have made around the stranger, how the immense connective magic around the dragon turned human has thrown his waning connection all out of sorts. He can not know these thing, so he does not even think to blame Aryx for the changes in his emotions, in his ability to control himself. As his head falls to his knees, hiding his face from the world, he feels he can only blame himself for all the troubles he's feeling.
Zach remains silent as they walk to the bus stop and Kiel becomes a little curious. 'It's not that he's a really talkative boy, but normally he at least tries to squeeze out extra bits of information when he can. . .Well, I suppose, this is the first time he's left the grounds since he came to me. I can see how this may be a little scary for him' When the reach the bus stop the priest stands close to the youth. Not so close as to make him uncomfortable, but close enough so that he can reach out for comfort should he need it. 'Zach is such a strong willed one however, I do not see him seeking comfort from me, at least not the physical type'

Indeed, since those first couple days, save for treating the boy's wounds, Kiel has not really laid a hand on the teen. Part is because he knows Zach does not want to be coddled, but the bigger part of it has to do with the young man's jumpiness. Kiel has had a lot of experience with the kind of abuses he believes the boy may have suffered, and with the jumping and flinching, he does not want to make him more uncomfortable than absolutely necessary. 'Or on the other hand, making him too comfortable and running the risk of having him attach himself to me. I have had a few fall for me, and that has got to be one of the hardest things for me to deal with'

Humming softly he looks down the street, smiling at his timing as he spots the bus they need not two stops away. 'Perfect, we can get right on the road. I think the less time he spends on the street itself the safer he'll feel' He let's Zach get on first and pick the seats, paying for two adult fairs since he can not prove Zach is not a student or anything. Sighing at the greed the human animal seems to innately have, he takes a seat and relaxes a bit. He can not help smiling as the boy fires him a question every so often, back to his habit of picking around for tidbits of information to aid his inquiring mind. He manages to avoid giving away the big secret, simply smiling and humming softly, looking out the window as he pretends not to hear the inquiries.

When at last the aquarium comes into view he falls silent and pulls the yellow cord to signal the stop. He presses his lips together, smiling wide as he leads the way off the bus. He clasps his hands gently firmly behind his back as he begins walking towards the entrance silently. He gives Zach a smile before paying admission and opening the door for the younger male. Just inside the doors are huge salt water tanks running parallel through the middle of the room, the walls made of glass as well with larger, more dangerous looking fish swimming in among all the brightly colored schools of salt water fish. With an awed sigh of his own Kiel steps in front of Zach and waves his arm, his smile as wide and as bright as can be. “Well, what do you think?” he asks softly, tilting his head to the side as a huge manta ray swims past the wall in the distance behind him.
Mois nods with a sad smile on his lisps at the final thought expressed by his once mentor, however he can not stop the sigh, or the deep rooted disagreement with the rest of what Joseph had to say. “I agree, his madness, the madness of our family, is already affecting my dear little brother, making it hard to trust, how to confide in people, anyone really. . .” He huffs softly. “But you are wrong Joseph, that is exactly what trust is, and you and I both know that even if you were freed today, you would follow that foolish mad man to the ends of the earth. Perhaps putting your foot down on some things, the kind of things that has me knowing what I know and you do not, but you and I both know your will would be his even to the end of all things at this point, even without your enslaved will from the breaking.”

He chuckles softly, looking to the fire. “No Joseph, what you have with him goes beyond trust, it is what had humans fighting one another for so long over, what has made most of the major events in human history such massacres as to have the demons of hell turning their eyes from the carnage. What you have for Alexi is faith. The true and pure belief that even though you do not, no, even though you can not understand his will, you are willing to follow it anyways. You have faith that what he says is true, what he he believes in is real, and what he wants is. . .Well, what he wants, is what you want. . .” He rubs his eyes gently with one hand before dropping it back to the armrest. “While faith has caused such terrible things, I still envy the fact that you have it, and still think it is one of the greatest things any being can ever have in anything, be it a person, a place , or a belief.”

His voice trails off, a thick weariness overcoming his voice even as he seems to spiral down, deep into a pit of sorrow he knows will only deepen as the days go by. 'My little brother,t he fool who feels the need to save the souls of the world. My mad, wonderful younger brother who knows the pain he causes, but whose heart is unable to bend beneath the weight of it. . .Why must I be blessed and cursed, with such a beast as my blood? My father at least was simple, the madness inside of him turning to pure evil, plain and simple. I know not yet if my brother has become good or evil, but I pray I find out before it all comes to a close'

A long weary exhale comes from his now dry lips as he at last looks once more to the elder vampire and tries to pull at least half a smile. He fails, only managing a wince before he gives up and shakes his head, his eyes falling closed. “You and I both know, what we see as failing, is something that has given Alexi the power he has today, and without it, this mad plan of his. . .would never work. . .” He bites his lip softly, looking into Joseph's eyes apologetically. “Forgive me, I do carry on. I did not mean to tell you your feelings. . .And if I am in any way wrong, feel free to voice such. . .” Mois has always carried a bit of calm inside him at the thought of how devoted the head slave is to Alexi, and a part of him prays desperately, if silently, that his assessment of the older male is accurate.
Tahaan shivers softly, realizing it was probably bothering it's counterpart. It draws back, only a small bit of itself still touching Aysus. It wriggles this way and that, making little noises for a while until it is relaxed enough to reply.

~I was making things, and breaking things, discovering new sounds, and making them too! But then I broke a light, and it made a really loud noise. . .The noise, it frightened me. I know I made it, and should not be so afraid, but I could not help it. . .~

It finally manages to slither away from the other being, letting go so it can wander this way and that. Suddenly excited it pulls forward some threads and begins showing off what it's learned.

~See, if you tighten them then pull at them, the noise is new. Oh, and listen!~

In a whirls of it's body it brings forth a line of lights, no longer frightened at all now that it's counterpart is nearby. The faint pop sound makes it shiver and shake, bouncing around happily. Suddenly it realizes it's making a lot of noise, and Aysus may not like that, so with one last bounce it settle back into the threads, the small twitches of it's form only causes noise every so often. Reaching out with a thin strip of itself it touches one of the lights.

~If you would like to see, to hear, the really loud noise, just break one.~

It slithers back and forth, wanting to see what Aysus will do even as it longs to race once more off into the newness to see what else it can do. The nothing around seems so vast, but now it knows it has an end. It gets quickly lost in thought, drifting slowly away from the other and it's antics. It's desire to see what Aysus will do drifts quickly away as well as once more it feels a need building. A want for something a need for. . .

It looks to the space between all the things it now knows, the threads, the light, the dark. Sound and silence being less tangible but still visible to the being, but beneath it all is the faint energies created by everything else, the energy the everything that makes up the nothing is made of.

~Even as there is nothing, there isn't really nothing, seeing as I see things between, even if I see it as nothing, that is only because I have grown so use to it all~

It shivers back and forth in thought, musing about things until a new thought strikes it.

~We only call it nothing, because there is an absences of the only something we know, or at the time, knew, of, which was the threads. But now, as I look at it, I think there is more to this. More to nothing. Along with us, the threads were made, and the stuff between it is nothing, but even as a nothing, it seems that it needs to be. . .~

Unsure of just what it is thinking it moves back closer to Aysus, though still lost in thought, it's words can be sensed by the other without it knowing that it is “Speaking aloud” as one would say.

~It is the space between that gives the thread definition, and without it, the universe about us would be without definition. It would be very one sided, and as we have learned, there needs be two sides to something.~

Turning to Aysus it at last directs it's words to the ribbon being.

~I think, it is time for something. Something different.~

It reaches out to “Touch” the light once more, the energy “Feeling” different from the threads, but still lacking something. Something Tahaan can not fully understand at this time, but as it once more looks to the threads and the space between them, he gets an idea.

~We should make something like it! Like the threads and the nothingness. That is what I want.~

Twisting this way and that, it draws Aysus forward, pulling it out away from the things they have made. It has no idea how it and Aysus are going to make what he has just decided to make, however he knows, deep down, that it's going to take more energy than they are use to using.

~I think we will need to tap the energy directly for this. I am not sure, but think so. . .~

Drawing up to the riling mass of energy it slows, moving away from Aysus to try and understand why it feels the need for the central mass of energy for this next creation. It looks around intently, not getting too close, but not shying away at the noises it's making. As long as it's counterpart is around, Tahaan is as brave as could be. Finally it understands what it needs to do. What they need to do. Moving back to Aysus's side it hovers as still as possible before the other.

~We need to make both at once. We need to make them separate, but equal. I do not think one at a time will work this time. I. . .I do not know why, but this is what I hear inside me as the truth.~

It hesitates for a moment, unsure of itself, however after a moment it continues.

~If you are ready, I would like to make something. . .Solid. Something to touch. I know we touch the threads, but the thread is energy, it is. . .It is not solid. It can be formed into things unseen, it can vanish once formed.~

It is unsure of how else to explain it's want, but it tries anyways.

~We are of energy, or two types of energy, and all around us, there are threads, and there is the space between. I want to make something like that, but different. Something different from ourselves. I wish to make something we can see, at all times. Something that we can touch that is different than the threads.~

Not sure it's words are understood it falls silent, writhing a bit before asking.

~Do you understand what I mean?~
M'kay, so, Tahaan will be responsible for wrapping up the nothing into "Space" and that would leave Aysus to bundle up the threads into "Matter". t's up to you how you wanna do it, but I'd like to stick with the idea that they have to do it at the same time. It is a huge step, and I think it needs to be made all at once or the chances for collapse are far greater than one could imagine. . . . .
He begins humming softly as he watches Aoba try and make his selections, nodding without a word as the angel has the same idea about getting an AC. 'Well, there's some common human sense for you. He is starting to recognize things his body craves, now if only he would crave. . . .' His thoughts trail off as he notices a little girl toddling after his Little Mouse. 'Adorable. I think she's still young enough to see his wings' He chuckles as his suspicion is confirmed. He stays back not wanting to spook the little one in a crowded store, however he can not help but move in a little closer when Aoba picks her up.

'Careful there Little Mouse. Mama bears don't always appreciate having strangers pick up their babies. . .' His eyes go a little wide as those bright blue eyes gaze at him in wonder over the angel's shoulder. 'Uhhh, odd. . . .She should be frightened of me, not. . .Oh boy, I think I may have something wrong with me. I'll have Dani do a check when we get back' He waves playfully at the little one, smiling as nicely as he can, however he does not have long to interact with her as the familiar cry of the human mama bear goes up and he steps out of the way so she can rush past and scoop up her baby. Sliding up next to Aoba he waves as the girl is taken away and chuckles at the bemused angel.

“That wasn't weird at all my Little Mouse. Children love the positive energy that your kind gives off, and every little girl loves wings.” He looks off in the direction the mother and child had vanished. “It was weird that I didn't seem to freak her out, but I'll deal with that later.” He ruffles Aoba hair, chuckling. “I'm strong, I can carry a lot, and once we get out of town I can cheat.” He loos through what they already have. 'It's enough for a few days I suppose' Grab a couple more fruits you like, the sugars will do you good for some energy, and I'm going to grab some milk. Just half a gallon since we have milk cows anyways.”

Ruffling the smaller male's wings gently the demon moves off to the dairy section, scooping up a small tub of butter along with some cheese and the milk he said he would. 'Whole milk would be best, since we're going to be drinking the pure stuff soon, it's best not to get use to the light stuff then have to sway over' He giggles at the image of he and Aoba milking cows, having to stop and cover his mouth as he adds Dani to the picture. 'Ah, that would be precious. However I think just getting him to feed the beasts will be a task in and of itself, and a small victory for demon kind, heh' Wandering back over to Aoba he holds out the now fairly hefty basket for him to add the fruits to before heading to the register to check out. The lines are longer than the ones at the other shops they've been to, so for the first time Aoba gets to wait in line with a bunch of humans on either side.
Harper doesn't flinch at the sudden question, and Finn wonders doe a moment if he is upset. Starla is too keen on getting her answer to notice that the general seems to have fallen in on himself in thought. The silence stretches on and even Starla begins feeling that perhaps she should rescind the question, or at least change the subject on to something more relevant to the moment. Her hands fall from where she had them clutched under her chin cutely and she takes a step back, coughing lightly. She opens he mouth to say something, however her words are cut off by a light sigh as Harper's eyes fall closed. She looks to Finn who steps forward beside her, his curious gaze on the normally composed rabbit man.

With a deep breath Harper looks up into the young ones' eyes, looking back and forth between them a few time before finally speaking. “My commission as general, as second in command under Lord Enasi, was a field commission. I was drawn into this rank in the midst of battle, and under circumstances that I do not think anyone should aspire to come into contact with.” He looks back and forth between them once more before settling his gaze upon Starla, now half shying away from the seriousness in his gaze. “If you really wish to know how I came to be where I am, me, a lowly dream, then I can tell you, however I want you to take only the good out of this tale. Promise me you will not dwell on the sadness.”

~*~*~*~*~

“Of course, silly. . .” Seishu murmurs softly, slipping off into the darkness.

~As soon as he is sure he's asleep Seishu takes off towards Enasi, his passions now unhampered by his tiredness. The slapping of his feet on the ground, the sound of his breath in his ears, the pounding of his heart. He can feel himself coming more and more alive with each new noise.

I think it's time to test the control here

His right arm shoots out as if he's running his hand along something and he smirks as he feels cloth against his fingers. He chuckles aloud as Enasi comes into sight, to only moments later vanish as a long silken sheet to come out of nowhere and block him from view. His heart races faster as he runs this way and that, bringing forth more and more hangings to turn the area into a cloth maze. From above feathers and petals of all shapes and colors begin falling, only to vanish as they touch the ground.

As they brush across his skin he feels a warm tingle as once more the twilight that is the balance between the two returns to the sky, high overhead the stars busting to life with a beautiful tinkling sound. The cloth rustles in the faint breeze, lightly tinged with a pleasant scent, ripples past. Underfoot plush blue grass springs up, just long enough to bend and twist in the breeze. The cloth, some solid, some see through, hangs in mid air, nothing holding them up, but they seem unmovable other than the rippling with the breeze.

Let's see what you make of this, my dear counterpart. . .

He continues moving, making the maze bigger and bigger, filling it with dead ends and false trails.

Let's see how much you really want to see me

He knows that is a little bit of a mean way to think about their relationship, but he never once claimed to be a nice guy.
Kuro chuckles at the limp angel in his arms as all the strength seems to drain out of him now that he no longer has to work to keep himself up. He's a little put out that his Little Mouse had no real reaction to the kiss, the disappointment feeding into his already abused sense of possessiveness, however he lets it pass with as much grace as he can muster. 'He really is truly innocent, I can not expect him to react to every little thing. He can pass of almost everything, short of pure nudity or direct kisses as just my little oddities without so much as a second thought. . .'

He can not help but grinning wide when he mentions being human. “You're not a human Little Mouse, just close to it.” He nods as he thinks about the food pyramid, the thing Aoba can not quite remember, and apparently, understand. 'He'll get in the habit of eating more the more he works. With his build, he shouldn't get too muscly, but he will definitely get more firm. . .' He checks carefully to make sure there are no humans around as he lands, a final glance around before dropping his shield. He follows along behind Aoba as he leads the way to the market, scooping up a shopping basket as they pass through the front doors.

A soft sigh passes through his lips as the sudden chill of the air conditioner hits him and he takes a moment to enjoy the feeling. 'Ah, we really must get an AC unit one of these days. I can see my Little Mouse baking in the climes this part of the world can reach mid summer' He tilts his head from side to side, running over the pyramid and other things he's learned about healthy eating from his years of study and motions off towards one of the aisles. “For now, I can hunt for meat, since I'll be eating the most of it, so we need grains and veggies mostly, along with fruits, but I can get apples any time, so not as many fruits as the other things.”

He eyes the canned veggies warily. “Also, keep in mind, we'll have to carry all this back. On foot or in the air, it might get a little awkward, so let's just stick with some basics. No canned food for now.” Grabbing some bread and some bags of noodles and stuff to make sauce he drags Aoba off to the fresh vegetable and fruit section and motions for him to grab what he wants. 'Even if I don't have as much practice as I'd like, I'm sure I'm a fairly good cook. At the least, I know how to cook all these things, but it may take some trial and error to get them just right' He goes over all the recipes he knows, wondering what to try for lunch. He begins humming softly, happily imagining what Aoba will think of his cooking. Luckily it's mostly adults in the market and he only has a few people paying him any attention, but he's sure that has more to do with how he's dressed than the hormones he's giving out.
*Grin* There will be a time for that later, I promise. Oh, and Joseph will not know about it, only that there was a big row one night, and no one really wants to talk about it :P
