Rei finishes his survey of the first floor of the library fairly quickly, marking three passages leading out of the castle. One leads under the back wall, likely an escape passage for if the castle is on fire. Another has collapsed, though if he is any real judge of such things it would have lead to the old barracks he saw outside the walls so that the soldiers could charge right into the castle should their be raiders or assassins. He wonders vaguely if perhaps they had kept up with that tunnel if the prince would have had less attempts on his life. 'There must have been quite a few for him to have reacted the way he did to me. . .' he muses. The last is the most well concealed, actually behind a bookshelf. It also happens to be the most well maintained. This last one leads to the tower where they had gone for the prince's history lesson.

'It must be their version of a safe house. I am no expert on castles, however that tower is far more defendable a position than the palace proper' As he makes his way to the second floor he can sense eyes on him. Once he reaches the next level he looks back to find out who's looking and once more has to take a moment. The design of the library makes it possible to look to each of the floors from almost anywhere in the library, and the higher vantage point gives the fae something new and interesting to take in. It is less the structure and more the number of books he can see all at once that almost seems to move him, though even if it seems that way the feeling is very muted. The underground almost tunnel like design of the hall of books in the fae village is far more close feeling and limits how much you can see.

He smiles, though he does not notice, and after glancing down at the keeper, who jumps slightly and shuffles off, he makes his way around the second and third floors in no time. Not wanting to be too far from the young man he's guarding for too long once his survey is done he makes his way swiftly from the room. The keeper watches him go and lets out a sigh as he closes the doors quietly behind him. It doesn't take long for Rei to return to his room, quickly emptying his pockets of the food he stored before wandering over to the secret passage connecting his room to the prince's. Recalling what the youth had said about checking on him he doesn’t hesitate to open the wall and make his way through the dark to the other end.

The wall opens silently and the fae enters the room. His eyes fall at first onto his ward, but seeing him still and quiet he slips further into the room and begins checking it for any dangers. Cracking the shutters slightly so he can look down upon the grounds he is careful so that the light from outside does not fall on the young man's sleeping form. 'It seems quiet tonight. Not even any of the stable crew away it would seem. Only the night guard. . .I wonder. . .He said it would be strange to learn from an assassin, but would he object to bringing my suggestion to the captain of the guard about shifting his patrols so that the castle is safer against my kind of folk. . .'

He sighs silently and closes the shutters, still very confused about the young man's rejection. It would make his life easier, and make it less likely that he would have to come in conflict with the man should his actions go beyond verbal correction with Alessandro. Magic creeps out across the room, checking it over as the fae goes over it with his eyes as well until at last he is satisfied. As he begins walking over to the open wall, intent on getting some sleep, Rei pauses, struck with a sudden curiosity. Turning he silently approaches the prince's bed, coming to a stop right next to it.

The youth's hair is covering most of his face and on impulse Rei reaches out, gently brushing those golden locks aside so he can see Alessandro's face properly. Leaning back slowly he looks, taking in his features, his slightly sleepy mind wandering vaguely about with random notions. The prince is a curiosity, one Rei can't seem to figure out, and as his mind tries desperately to put the pieces together the fae simply watches the young man sleep. He only stands there for less than a minute before turning and heading back to his own room, but for his constantly firing mind it felt like a lot longer. Once in his room he wastes no time in stripping off his clothes and crawling into bed, his only adornment the bandanna to cover his ear tips. Then with a yawn and a stretch he curls up under the covers and falls asleep.
I like it. I just wanted a plan where Illiendi actually liked the gift, and he did, so I am good!
I have a story behind the flowers. They were born the last time a demon was summoned in the area. If you recall, in the history I made for the town that happened around it's founding. It's something that demon left behind. They look something like this except as I described the stem and colors in my post, and of course the top bell flopping in the other direction and twice as big :P You can add anything else you want to the story, I just, yeah. . . .They were sprouted because of the last demon summoning. I don't think the demon itself made them sprout, more like the earth reacting to it's presence :P
The haggling session is long and hard, Rudolf as bullheaded as ever. He's actually a nice man, meaning you can always get the best prices at his shop, however if he knows you have the coin he makes it hard on you. However Amano, rather than being annoyed or growing impatient, takes it as a test of the skills he will need in the future. True, this is dealings with a man he knows and who knows him, by his last name at least, but none the less he feels that the challenge is enough to make it worth while. The broad shouldered man slaps him hard enough on the back to knock him forward a bit but he manages not to fall over. With the man's laughs echoing in his ears he quickly writes down where it will need to be delivered before slipping outside.

He doesn't see Illiendi on the street so he decides to wander around the general area until the demon returns. 'Well, that should be enough, and I do not thing Illiendi will begrudge me the few treats. After all, I managed to pay only 80% of what I had planned on paying for the amount I got! I think I did good. . . .' The smell of flowers catches his attention as he wanders past a cart and he stops. The vendor is busy with a client so Amano just stands by quietly and looks at his wears. 'I wonder how Illiendi is doing. He is amazingly talented, so I am sure he had little to no trouble. I wonder how much we will have left after this to do everything else we need to. . .I am sure it will be enough. He is smarter than to leave us with not enough. . .' His thoughts are fast and rambling, but as he toys with one flower after another ha can't help but smile softly.

'I may not have wanted exactly this, but it is happening. I am going to go beyond what the world expected of me. I am going to be great. . . .' As the man finishes his deal with his customer he slides over to Amano almost as smoothly as a snake through water.

“Well now my young sir, what can I do for you? A bouquet for your mother? A dozen roses for that special young lady in your life? All of my flowers were picked and treated carefully just the night before and will bring joy to the recipient for quite some time, guaranteed!” His cheerful demeanor seems honest and open and Amano can not help but laugh lightly as he thinks of gifting his mother with flowers. She may love the way they look, but anything less than the absolute finest of things often fails to move her. 'There have been times, but that was mostly when they came from father. . . .'

Shaking his head he suddenly pauses, his eyes caught by a little sprig of white flowers almost completely hidden behind some sort of lily. The vendor's smile widens, recognizing the look of a man who's spotted what he wants. Kneeling, Amano brushes the lilies to the side carefully and pulls out the small sprig, and holds it gently in his hands as he stands up. The stem is about as long as his palm is wide while the many smaller stems one arched above the other leading to the small bell shaped flowers all lean in one direction, save for the top one. The top flower, twice as big as the others, leans the other way, the base of the white flower a deep blood red. Looking closely he can see the same coloring on the other bells, but only just barely.

The vendor slips in a little closer, sighing happily. “You have a keen eye young man. I don't carry many of those, they are a rare find and not many people care for them.” Amano looks to the man curiously. The man's smile shifts as if he's trying to appear mysterious. “Those there my lad are called 'Hell's Bells'. Not very popular as one could guess. This is a rare pigmy breed I've found at the base of an elm tree nearby, but don't tell anyone. If they are plucked too often, they may never grow back, and that would be a shame. They may be the only ones of their kind.” Amano nods, thinking of the only elm tree he knows in the area that the man could be talking about. It's near a shack that no one visits. It's ancient, and derelict, but the officials refuse to tear it down.

“So lad. Is that what you want? I can give you my special discount seeing as it's your first purchase, and that last one there is kinda small.” Amano smiles warmly and nods. He doesn't know why this flower appeals to him so, but he does know who he want's to give it to.

'It may be kind of a bad joke, but I think he will get it. Most likely roll his eyes at me on the inside like he always done when I have acted childish. I hope he does not hate them' He's fairly sure that even if Illiendi doesn't like them he'll take them anyways and decides to ask him if he wants it, and see if he is ale to read the beast at all. The vendor and he haggle only a little, the young man far too eager to get back over to the shop to wait for his comrade to try for a great price. It only costs him a pitance and he thanks the man before wandering over to the bakery. He doesn't have to wait long, spotting Illiendi returning to him with and armload of something under his arm.

Smiling warmly at the sight of his new accomplice he waves, waiting for him to come close enough to speak. “I assume things went well.” He eyes the crate, the jugs he can see just barely over the edge of the box makes him curious, however he wants to get the flower thing over as quickly as possible. Motioning off to the side he slips quickly through the crown to a less busy part of the street and turns to face Illiendi. His naturally shy nature kicks in and he drops his gaze for a moment before taking a steadying breath and looking back at the demon. Holding up the flower in a steady hand by the stem he says softly.

“I spotted this at the flower vendors, and I thought it would be a nice thank you for everything. I know you are already going to get exactly what you want later, but I can not fight my nature.” His eyes dart to the ground again. “The vendor says they are rare, but he may be mistaken. There is only one patch of them he knows of. They are some kind of pigmy Hell's Bells, and I thought that was funny too. So, yeah. . .Only if you want them though. . .” He looks up carefully, wanting to catch the taller male's reaction to the gift.
The young human's question confuses Yu a bit, the urge to help humans as natural as breathing to him, however he thinks carefully on the question for a time before answering. 'I protect and help humans because I want to. There is no greater reason, however I am unsure whether or not he would accept such a simple answer. I know many humans go beyond such simplicity in their desires to act, and the natural tendencies most have are ignored. . .' As Ethan goes on to basically tear down his own race Yu smiles a little bit wider, understanding a little better why he asked his question.

Shaking his head so that his hair shifts then settles the youkai slips off the his perch and begins walking around once more, playing with his balance. “I understand your thoughts, for as a human I am sure what I am about to say will not make sense. In fact, it may insult you, and if so, I am sorry.” He offers the young man a smile before going on. “It is just my nature. Humans life such short lives, and see things as only a mortal can, but for all their efforts, for all their capacity for learning, you will always remain children in my eyes. You are incapable of knowing the world as we do, so shut off from it since the last of your kind to have the power died out so long ago. The world has grown cruel, and harsh towards you, and even among your own race you have always been harsh to one another. I. . . .I do not like seeing that, and when I do see it, I react.”

He smiles, grasping a light poll and hanging off to the side playfully. “Humans, despite all their faults, are amazing creatures, and have the potential for creating wonders and beauties that my kind can not even think to dream of. I want to protect you, to help you. It is just who I am. The ones who harmed me are dead, and I have never held anger towards them to begin with. It is in your very nature to fear what is different. I do not know why, but I accept it.” Letting go of the poll Yu stalks playfully closer to Ethan with a soft smile on his face. “Do you have any more questions?” he murmurs softly, his hands clasped behind his back, bent at the waist so he has to look up into the young man's eyes.
The slave in question scuttles curiously around it's cage, not really understanding what's going on, but the odd behavior he's never seen before interests him greatly. The collard one, the pet, he seems sad maybe, but also strong. He wishes he was strong, big, tough, then no one would mess with him. NO one would cage him. He could fight and be free! But no, he's not strong. He has to wait, pick his fight, and find his freedom again. Return to the forest maybe, where he can hide, and where he can go where he wants to. That would be good.

As the deal is sealed with a handshake Orion openly admires Joseph once more. “You really are somethin' Joseph. You mister Vandros is lucky to have you. . .” His voice trails off as he looks the vampire up and down one last time before turning back tot he cage. “I'll have the creature bound and sedated, a little more securely than mister Vandros likes, but with an acquisition like this I'd rather not take any chances. As I recall you transport via car rather than a truck.” He glances at Joseph before smiling at the M'Tinak as it crawls over tot he bars. Wiggling his fingers at it he laughs as it snaps at him. “I'll send over the contract post haste. A pleasure doing business with you Joseph, I hope to see you again soon.” His tone makes it obvious that he's dismissing the slave and after a few more seconds he heads into the back room to type up the proper forms.

Alexi watches Erik, his eyes trained on the vampire almost as if he's the only thing in the world worth looking at. Even the crazy human knows that that is foolish, but if anything could be said about Alexi Vandros it's that when he becomes obsessed with something there is nothing in the world that will convince him it's not worth obsessing over. Crossing his arms he lays his head down on them as he watches Erik pull up a chair. 'He looks really pretty in that. I know I should not have to say this, but I did not just pick him for his looks. I am sure there are other reasons, but just because I can not think of them now does not mean they do not exist. I am not in my right mind right now, all this negativity tearing apart my innards. It is completely understandable that my recollection be faulty. How can he live like this? Always second guessing himself, always doubting. I know it is normal for most, but. . . .'

His thoughts trail off as Erik sits down and begins speaking. His smile is warm and soft as the rebel leader tries to tell him he has no idea what to do. Despite the pain raging inside him the younger Vandros never loses his soft feelings of caring for the other, and he really can't wait to show the man more. He lets out a soft sigh and begins tugging at his hair. “Do not worry Erik, I am sure I shall find a way to deal with this. I know Joseph is worried, but in truth I will simply have to go along with this if it is going to work properly. If I can not understand and deal with it on my own. . .” He lets out another sigh, turning his smile on Erik again. “I will deal with it. And yes, the second dose should ease this pain if you really feel less anger towards me. Right now I am simply suffering the echoes of your feelings at the time your blood was taken. After the second dose the actual open link should fall into place, though it will only work in close proximity.”

Stretching out on the bed he suddenly jolts and gasps as his bandaged wrist catches on the blanket and tugs at the wound. He lets out a rather childish whine and pulls his arm back in, cradling it. Staring at his arm he says softly almost to himself, “I would never break you. . .” After a few seconds he looks back at Erik, no longer looking like a man a million miles away. “What about you? How are my feelings settling with you? After yesterday’s display I hope they are remaining just as uplifting.” There is no arrogance in his voice, his smile honest, his expression curious.
Kuro wakes up right on schedule and with a yawn is on his feet before he even realizes it. Shuffling over to the kitchen he gets a quick drink from the faucet before preparing a simple breakfast for Aoba and placing it in the fridge. 'Little Mouse needs to eat. . . .' He thinks sleepily, scratching his stomach. Heading outside he flexes his magic in the dark morning air, and looks towards the barn. 'I don't wanna leave the Little Mouse alone for long. . . .' Wandering over to the barn he tip toes past the sleeping animals and climbs up to where Dani lay curled in his nest. Waking him gently he giggles at the adorable childish protests but eventually the smaller demon opens his eyes.

“What choo want runt?” he murmurs, his voice thick with sleep.

Rolling his eyes Kuro tugs the reluctant demon to his feet. “Dani, I have a special job for you. It's for the angel,t he toy.” Dani perks up right away, almost all traces of sleep fleeing from his face. His little brother grins at this, but goes on. “I need to you guard the house while I work. Little Mouse won't be up for a while, I'm sure of it, and I can't leave him alone. It'll be up to you to keep the demons and anything else dangerous away.”

Dani nods enthusiastically and salutes with his fist over his lack of heart before diving over the edge of the loft and running out the cracked open barn door. Kuro chuckles before following more slowly, making his way towards the field. Dani patrols just as enthusiastically, at least for a while, and Kuro is confident his little fallen angel will be safe. Using a little bit of magic he draws water from the pump an scatters it over the field, careful not to leave any residual magic in the liquid so the seeds would be safe. After the watering is done he shuffles over to the coop, still exhausted, and lets the birds out of their shelters. As they scatter around his feet he smiles and shoos them out of his way.

'I'll wait on the rest until the Little Mouse is up. He's be devastated if he missed it' He concludes and head back to the field to pick some weeds while he waits. When he notices how many there are already he sighs and hangs his head. “Weeds, weeds, why are you the only plant so resilient?” As he begins weeding, the sun breaking the horizon at last, he notes Dani's restlessness. 'Well, that vigilance lasted longer than I thought it would' He is well through half of the field when at last Dani breaks the silence, announcing moments later that Aoba is awake.

With a smile Kuro stands and wipes off his hands on his pants, once more reminding himself that they simply must head to the store today and pick him up some new clothes. Once his pants are sufficiently filthy he heads to the house and heads in the back door. He smiles warmly as he spots Aoba and after slipping up to the sink and washing off all the filth he opens the fridge and pulls out the breakfast he made. “Good morning sunshine!” he says cheerily, handing over the plate before turning and pulling out the koolaid so he can pour the angel a glass. “Eat up, we got work to do!”
I love doggies. . . So, I think I have first post?
~Seishu has to suppress a laugh when Enasi says he'd suffered worse in the dream realm.

Ah, my foolish counterpart.

Nothing I have ever suffered in your realm can even compare to what I did today.

Even watching the woman tortured through Gin's eyes.

Hurting one, with my own energy. . . .

He shudders slightly but stays silent. Even though Enasi is practically begging him to stay longer, his mind is set. He doesn't want the smaller male to stay here, and he knows Enasi will not leave him here to die. Once they are back in the clearing Seishu overhears the other sighing and he echoes the sound.

I need to do something.

He's not listening.

He's trying to blame himself.

He begins humming softly, just long enough for the lights to take up the tune, and with a turn he changes into an old English gentleman’s garb. Reaching out he takes Enasi's hand, spinning him once and changing his outfit too into a robe worthy of an Adonis. Pulling him in close he begins dancing slowly with the red head, doing his best to keep his emotions from his eyes. Leaning his head down he whispers softly, “You've done nothing wrong Enasi, don't look like that. You're perfectly fine just the way you are.” His voice is low and soft, the lights humming along lightly around them.~

Oh, at some point, I see them fighting and something making Akito snap and pin/throw Hiro to the ground or something. A moment where Hiro seems to have forgotten that though he may appear shy, he's killed a lot of people.
I see it startling Hiro, maybe(hopefully) even scaring him to add some drama.
My first vision was him grabbing Hiro-kun's neck, which could still happen, but that would be an extreme moment.
I was thinking it could be a little time later, when Akito feels Hiro may be trusting him in a meaningful way, and he brings up his concerns over the activities of some of the servants. And in true prince fashion he hasn't seen any odd behavior or paid attention to the servants enough to realize some are acting weird and calls Akito a warmonger or something. "Just looking for a new enemy to attack unjustly" or something like that. Maybe have this chat happen a day or so after a fight about wars themselves.
