Quote - "I want to fix it, because I know I'm one of the most talented RPers most people come across. And that may sound vain, but it means when I find a partnership that gets me to think and to push my ideas a little bit, I want to keep it."

I have had quite a few of my partners point out the exact same thing about me, including Inara. One of my partners made the joke, "If you were to wait until you found an RPer as good as you, you'd never RP again." I know that's a gross exaggeration but at the same time it helps me to understand how most of my partners view me, and part of what actually makes me compatible with them. I too am not vain, but I guess I've just developed the mindset somewhere back there in my brain at this point that most of the partners I find are not going to be as good as me.

Personally, I haven't actually RPed enough with you figure out if we are equal, or if your better or what not, but I do know we do think differently, and I am more than willing to continue working together. If you wanna try again, then do let's. I am a patient person, and that's even with RPs that bore me to death. I have 100% more patience with someone as good as you. Also, I've never abandoned a partner, so don't worry, I'll be here.
I like RPing with you, despite the disagreements, and I'm sorry if it's not the same for you. We have got, what, 25 IC posts. For me, and I'm not calling your judgment into question, but for me, personally, that's not nearly enough for me to make a decision like that. I wish I could understand what you mean by monumentally different, seeing as all my partners are rather different from me and I enjoy most of my RPs with the small number of people who haven't vanished on me all of a sudden, or whose grasp of the English language seems to be that of a 4th grader at best. Can you, in any way, give me specific in character examples of what you mean? Or would you rather just let me know that it's no fun RPing with me and call it a day. I don't want you to feel forced, and I would never try and make someone stay, no matter if they were having fun or not. I'm not that kinda person.

I think, we could do something amazing. You are one of the most talented RPers I've come across and in truth I can see that being one of the reasons we clash so much. Most of my partners aren't as good as I am, so I tent to have to lead, or follow in a way that another really good RPer may not enjoy. Be blunt with me. What IC stuff is bugging you, stumping you, or otherwise making this unpleasant? Do you hate Tahaan's attitude? Do you not like the way he thinks? Do you not like how he interacts with Aysus? Or is what bugs you OOC stuff like how I see things developing, or anything like that?

This may sound off topic, but we both still RP with TShara(Inara) and I have a lot of fun with her. If we're both compatible with her. . . .I have no idea where I was going with that thought, but there it is. . .Perhaps I should take a look at you RP and see where we are missing. . . .

Anyways, if it's not fun for you, I don't wanna drag your RP life down. If this really just all sucks, then I won't try and stop you. It is not my intention to make your RP experience suck. . . .
It would be a New York type city on top of a mountain and Chicago like place next to the ocean on my Earth not Earth setting :P And if you're really hating trying to RP this we could always try. . . .Wanna look at my Menagerie and let me know if anything sounds fun?
His father simply keeps his eyes down, as is expected in this public setting and Akito nearly jumps out of his skin when he spots the emperor moving out of the corner of his eye. His eyes snap to the taller man, careful not to retreat in any way least he do something to upset the man. However the smile and open arms relaxes the soldier the tiniest bit and he is able to listen with his heart firmly in his chest rather than his throat. He begins to panic again however when the friendly man motions him forward and servants appear out of seemingly nowhere to escort his father. His steps are slow at first but after glancing back at the general and getting a nod he manages to fall in step just behind the two rulers.

The mother falls behind to walk with his betrothed and in an expert move the emperor slides back to walk next to his soon-to-be son-in-law. His panic does not settle, locking his vocal cords and he is unable to find anything to say to the man. He manages to keep his legs moving however which he sees as quite the accomplishment in this particular case. The tall man smiles down at him and he tries to return the gesture with limited success. Akito is so tense during the walk that he doesn't notice most of the things they pass. When the emperor addresses him he looks up quickly to listen. “So, Moranaga. That is a rare family name. I do not think I have heard it in these parts for quite some time.”

Akito looks to his feet, “No, I suppose you wouldn't have. I think my parents where the only ones to have crossed over from Meiwan in the past generation, or so my fa-, the captain tells me. . .” For some reason, when speaking of his parents, calling the captain father seems disgraceful. The taller male looks down at him, catching the correction but deciding to over look it for now.

“I see. That makes sense.” he says gently. In front of them the boy's attention is caught as a pair of servants open the large doors and for a few seconds at least he is completely distracted. The large dinning hall is set with a long table lined with cushions and bedecked with what is indeed a large feast as the emperor stated. However Akito doesn't look at any of that, instead caught up in the beauty of the mural along the far wall. The emperor actually stops along with him as the youth stares wide eyed at the display, an artist's recreation of heaven. There are people dressed in astounding finery, and others not dressed at all. Beast laying together that would never consider it in the real world, and the landscapes are so perfectly rendered that he actually holds his breath as he takes it all in.

It does not take long for him to notice he's holding up the royal party and with a deep flush his gaze drops to his feet and he murmurs an apology. The emperor slaps him on the back telling him there is not reason to say he's sorry. Biting his lip he follows the man's direction and takes a seat. The emperor and empress take seats side-by-side at the head of the table, the empress on the emperor's right. The lady motions for Akito to take a seat at her right and after a moment's hesitation he complies. Sitting cross-legged he settles in, finally looking at the meal before his gaze darts over to the prince sitting across from him.

'He really is beautiful. I wonder if he has someone he cares about. . .I had plenty of offers and I'm nowhere near as lovely. He must have at least a few people he enjoys liaisons with. . .' He looks back down at the food, waiting for the okay to eat. Once it is given he does his best to not look a total slob as he picks out his food.

“So, care to tell us a bit about your time on the battlefield? I was once a soldier, and I rode with the men from time to time in this last war.” Akito refrains from jumping and looks up at the man. He is ready to answer, though perhaps not with anything too exciting, however it is almost as if the empress can read his thoughts and speaks up before he can.

“I am sure he doesn't want to talk about that right now dear.” she says softly, looking up at her husband. “Besides, I do not think battle talk would be appropriate at the table. Especially since this is suppose to be a joyous occasion to celebrate the children's upcoming union, not one to dwell on the terrible sights during battle. . .” The emperor nods lightly.

“Of course you are right my dear.” He murmurs gently, touching her back with a tenderness that Akito finds quite endearing.

'They are quite cute together' He surmises, taking the first bite of fish from his plate. The flavor takes him by surprise making him stare at his plate for several seconds before chewing. 'Well, I am use to rations, so I should not be so shocked. I just, wow, flavors. . . His hand slips idly over his obi, a natural gesture, when suddenly he freezes. 'Hoko's gone. . .Oh no. . .' Dropping his chopsticks he suddenly ducks down so he can see under the table. His heart once more come to live in his throat as he spots the audrat wandering over to the prince. “Hoko!” He whispers sharply, but ht beast ignores him, the smell of food too much for the little guy.

Sitting back up he looks at the prince with an almost pained expression. “Highness, I, um, I have a pet, and he's use to eating with me and the other soldiers, and, well, he's about to try and crawl into your lap and possibly nip at you, but I promise he's not trying to hurt you!” His words come out in a rush and just before the beast does exactly that. The split second before it happens the empress begins laughing while Akito dies his best not to pass out from panic, and the emperor looks on in confusion.
Don't worry, I promise I won't hate it, and I'm sure it'll be fine. If all else fail we could always try one set on earth-not-earth(That whats I call my earth settings since I don't like nitpicking over historic details or geographic accuracy when, say, I want a NY setting with a mountain range running through it for example) for easy sake. I've got a whole bunch new plot ideas up in my Menagerie that would work on an earth like setting. . . .
Hah. I just thought of a funny. Remember why we started this RP? Because we thought starting from the ground up would be easier? I recall you saying that it changed. . . . .But that you had a new one or something. . . .You could always do a small semi nonsense post just responding to Tahaan's statement and then I could do a push forward and maybe give you something new to work on. Try a new front. . . .In fact, I has an idea. . . . .
Aoba complies readily enough, toddling over when he's called upon. Kuro tries not to grin at this and instead focus on picking out something suitable. When the angel points out that the stuff on the rack is not stuff he would wear Kuro coughs lightly and nods. “Yeah, you're right. I'd look like a cowboy in this, and I'm more of a rock star.” He chuckles at his own comment and follows the smaller male over to the clothes he pointed at. They go back and forth a bit before the demon's arm is loaded up with a few different tops and bottoms and he wanders off to the changing rooms. 'Ah, this is fun. Like my own personal fashion show!'

Popping in and out of the changing rooms he shows off each of the pieces. He takes the yay or nay votes from Aoba and eventually he has a couple new outfits for cheap. The clerk lets him wear one of them, a black t-shirt with a faded blue jean jacket over it, and some supple form fitting jean looking pants that stretch more like spandex than jean. The lady behind the check-out counter smiles warmly at both of them, batting her eyes a bit at Kuro, however he ignores her politely aside from paying her. New threads on and old ones in the trash Kuro slips his arm around Aoba's waist and heads outside. “So, where to next Little Mouse?” he asks cheerfully, feeling much better having been out of the sun for so long.
You said he had this big understanding that he was going to have. Did you lose sight of that? Did you try re-reading all the posts and his outline, settling yourself back into him? If there is anything I can do, I'm here.
I may get it up tonight, and it's a good name.
Heheh, love the name. I think he'll, when he can talk, be called Dar for short. And I see my next post being rather interesting.
