Yes, yes, yes, on all points. It's your dragon, so motivation for his actions are all yours :P I also agree that the setting should be somewhere not earth, perhaps a place with two moons, I've always found the pretty. Perhaps we could go with something like they simply are having a harder and harder time making connections with others of their kind because their very nature is shifting into something that makes getting close an issue. This would go along with your idea of the dragon going to humans out of loneliness. Human, despite all the infighting we tend to have, have never had a problem getting close to one another :P

As for do humans know about them. . . . .How about on the cusp. Like, they believe in their existence, but it's just been so long that people are starting to believe they've all died out or moved somewhere else or something. Your thoughts?
I'll get right on him when I wake up. I simply must get some sleep now before I hallucinate that my are is a sub sandwich and try to eat it again :P See you tomorrow!
This is a one-on-one RP between ClosetMonster and Popealessandros. If you are not us, don't post! And also, this will possible develop, but almost definitely have M/M in it so if you don't like, don't read! Thank you *Bows*

Here's what we got thus far I think -

Player: PopeAlessandros

Name: Chall Heirdon

Race: Half-breed Feline Man Beast

Age: 32

Height: 5' 6”

Weight: 140 lbs

Hair: Strait, black, waist length with bangs the same length as the rest of the hair, and kept back into a thin low ponytail in the back.

Eyes: Emerald green with slitted pupils and a faint feline slant to them.

Skin: Mostly pale human flesh but on his lower legs and along his spine is soft sleek black feline fur.

Build: Naturally athletic(Note: His lower legs starting at the knees are feline, so he has the extra long feet that make it look like he's got an extra set of knees that bend the wrong way and he walks on his toes, which have retractable hooked claws at the ends. He also has semi retractable pointed finger nails. He has feline ears, black, that poke out from underneath his hair where human ears would be that stick a bit out from his head, and a sleek matching tail he tends to keep hanging down unless he's relaxed enough to show it. Then it peeks out of a slit in the back of his robes.)

Clothes: He wears standard apprentice robe with the mark of his master, a swallow, embroidered on a pocket over the left breast. The robes are plain, maroon, and fall almost all the way to the floor. They are kinda thick, but don't hinder movement too much, and attached to the back is a large hood with holes for his ears. Underneath the robe are simple black slacks and a light gray tunic of fine woven silk. It was a gift from his mother when he earned his apprenticeship, so he only really takes it off to sleep and to wash it.

Accessories: He keeps with him always a small pendant on a chain that is his power center. The chain is attached to a loop on the robes and he keeps the pendant tucked in a pocket on the right hip of the robes.

Powers/Skills(If Applicable): Because of his heritage he's got a close connection to nature. As such he excels at reading weather patterns and predicting rain or storm. He also has a strong grasp of nature magics and can use them for both healing and minor convenience spells. He has the potential to learn combat spells, but having never needed them, he has no experience in doing so. All of his mother's race are natural climbers due to living in the trees, so he has a natural aptitude for it.

General Personality: He has grown to have a very guarded nature and doesn't open up easily. Other than his family, he has never trusted anyone, even his master. He has a tendency to just to conclusions that would prove to be insulting to himself, but will begrudgingly apologize if proven wrong. He has a sharp tongue, but is quick to realize when he should hold it for his own safety. He seems very gruff, and closed off to the people around him, but underneath is a deep rooted love for nature, his family, and the innocents he seeks to aid with his status and magics.

Background: Chall was born to a Kirin(Feline beast humanoids) mother and human father, in a land where his kind had just recently been recognized as equal to humans. He was tormented by the local human and kirin children due to his mixed race, and not long after his 6th birthday, his father was killed by a drunken mob for making a kirin his wife. After his father's death Chall's mother moved to the small county of Sureil and took a job in the palace as a maid. There the court mage took notice of his natural talents but hesitated to broach the subject of helping him grow them. Not only because of his mixed race, but Chall got in regular fights with a few of the more racists children in town, as well as the close mended eldest son of the king himself.

After finally talking to Chall's mother about the matter, together they spoke at length with him on the subject, and after some convincing he agreed to give it a try. The testing took years, but around his 17th birthday Chall was accepted as the court mage's apprentice. The fights lessened after that point, but the prince took the boy's new position as more of an incentive to pick on him then a deterrent. His mother took a lover from among the palace staff, but after she become pregnant he left the palace to become a sailor. Chall's little brother was born with complications, and he lost his mother in the process. Chall now raises the boy alone, with a little help from the non-human staff inside the palace and is fiercly protective of the little one. He's now 13 years old and leaving the palace on his own from time to time, and when it comes time for Chall to leave on his mission he insists that he can take care of himself and sends his big brother off with a smile.

Wren Autenberry, 40 yrs (thereabouts - seasons can lose their numbers when one is too busy to count them): 6'3", brown hair, brown eyes.
Dogs: (a Shepherd's dog, much in the same way a modern border collie might be, only without the breed name) Baxter (2) and Annie (6). Baxter's mother, Delta is at a neighboring farm, the breeding program of the village carefully tended by Old Man Jones, who has kept breeding records the past fifty six years.
Wren is a tall man, quiet and slow to move from one state of being to the next - mainly due to the fact he has lived his entire life around sheep which startle easily. He has a light beard but keeps it cut rather close. His hair is wavy and collar length and the upper half is kept off his brow by being tied behind his head and then braided. Despite the curl, however, it is more likely to clump and less to tangle and so he needn't keep it overly tended, which leads to something nearing laziness. Besides, he has none to impress outside of Annie and she would love him well enough if he were bald or as matted as the ewes just before shearing.
He is a broad shouldered man, with a long, loping stride and slim waist and hips, a man made for walking miles. His wont is to whistle or sing with a muted baritone, generally simple ballads and reels, with a particular love for songs which tell tales. It isn't unheard of for him to be called upon to sing when the village gets together for their dances. It also isn't unheard of for him to volunteer prior to being asked. Being one of the few older bachelors with established lands, home, and wealth, he is somewhat sought after and rather loathe to being tied down.
Despite wanting to escape the marital noose, Wren is rather giving of his time and energies. His calm demeanor is used often to soothe hurt beasts and he not only spins but also weaves the wools he gathers from his flock, gifting blankets to newborns and coverlets to newlyweds, as well as offering his shoulder to barn raising, field work, and any other such needful thing if he has the time.
Being a shepherd, he's almost infinitely patient and kind, but by the same token, quite set in his ways and unwilling to change for anyone. For this reason, he keeps his flock outside the village and lives in a stone cottage some ways out, where he needn't worry about company too often.

As for setting, I only can see his cottage - :) It seems to me, he has plenty of rolling hills and a good deal of exposed rock, much like the welsh countryside. If this is only his cottage and its surrounding area, then so be it. Or, if you'd rather something far more austere, then perhaps he'd be better served to have goats rather than sheep, a transition he could make easily.
Apart from physical setting, he can basically fit into just about any time period/genre – merely because I feel he's pretty flexible that way (he's either suited to his environment or he's one of those off-the-grid folk). So whatever your mage wishes to have, we'll give him, eh? If you want dragons, he'll just have to carry a long bow, I'd think, and perhaps have a larger dog in his mix. Otherwise, I suspect he carries a shepherd's staff/crook and some kind of projectile device, like a sling shot or a simple cross bow/gun/etc. dependent on the time we choose.

The country has long been at peace with it's neighbors, but as of late the countries bordering on either side have had a stirring of old bad blood and a possible conflict is on the horizon. The marsh dwellers, a semi aquatic humanoid reptile people are training in force, and the humans from the country on the other side, who only a generation ago eradicated slavery of non human races is worried that it is for an invasion. Both sides have sent representatives to the peaceful country in an attempt to gain information about the others kingdom. In desperate desire for peace, the king sends scouts and some of his personal advisers out into the land to learn what they can from his own people's observations.

As an apprentice to the court mage, young Chall is sent to check with the magics and spirits of the land to divine what he can that way. While the peaceful country is racially diverse, it is not yet truly integrated and as he travels he runs afoul a group of racists and is attacked. He manages to flee with his life on to the lands of a local farmer where he hides from the mob.

This is where I can see them meeting, what do you think? We could start the story a bit before hand so we can get a feel of things.

Sorry if I made this a little too weird, but you said you likes surprises. Chall came out of nowhere. I was half way through his sheet when I realized he's not human :P And the whole slavery thing. . . It came out of nowhere too, but I needed to come up with a legit reason someone like Chall would be in such a rural town. By the way, his name is pronounced like Y'all, but with a Ch instead of a Y.

You were also wondering about your farm. I can see it a good mile or two out of town, but on a clear night from the top of a nearby hill you can maybe see the lights from the village in the distance? What you think?
The church is abandoned and he would be hiding out in it around the time the RP starts. He would be weak from a recent battle or something.
I know, not really all that long, but I do think my brain is dripping out of my ears at this point of the morning :P
With a nod Tatsuki murmurs a “Thank you.” before following the young man down the hall. The smell coming off the hot springs is strong, but not strong enough to completely mask the smell of the varnish on the wooden walls, or the scents carried on the faint breeze that floats in through a slightly cracked open window. Once they reach his room Tatsuki looks Shigetoshi once more in the eye and murmurs, “Good night, Shigetoshi-san. Sweet dreams.” With that he slides the door to his room open behind his back and stops into the room smoothly, closing the door after him. A faint yawn makes it's way past his lips and he raises a hand to cover his moth as he turns to look at the room.

His ears follow the Inn owner's footsteps as he walks away and his eyes trail over the room taking in it's beauty. A large comfy futon is folded up along the left wall with a soft pillow and thick blanket set atop it. On the wall itself is a elaborate scene from some battle long ago outlined in sakura blossoms and branches. The window on the wall opposite is a classic sliding design with a circle pattern in it and black cross bars. A small dresser sits against the right hand wall, made of dark woods and the bottom part painted a tactful bright red to match the rest of the room.

Stretching he turns dresser atop which lay the promise kimono, folded neatly with the obi draped across it. Setting his socks and shoes down next to the dresser he lays a hand gently on the soft fabric and feels a little jolt as his mind is flooded with old memories. He bites a lip, dripping his hand to his side. “I really need sleep I think.” He says to the silent room. Shucking off his clothing he drops it all in a heap by the dresser and lays out the futon and settles atop it, wrapping himself in the blanket tightly. The soft pillow quickly does it's work and his mind slows to a crawl. In no time, he passes into the world of dreams.

~~~~
The next morning Tatsuki wakes to the sound of birds at his window, and sunbeams trailing across his covers. Rolling over a few times he eventually convinces himself to get out out of the warm little bundle he'd rolled himself into. Standing he makes his way to the window, and after cracking it open an inch to check that no one is there, throws it open to let the chilly morning air shock him completely awake. “Ah, nothing like a frosty breeze to get the blood pumping!” He declares softy to himself, then shuts the window tight. After donning his Kimono, taking a few extra minutes than necessary because he needed to recall how to tie the obi, he makes his way out of the room and towards the smell of food. 'Smells like breakfast is still on' He hums softly at the smell of fried rice and eggs.
Upon entering the community eating area, he swiftly locates the food and makes a beeline for it. He does his best to ignore the stares he's getting from the rest of the patrons, the females especially. He can feel hole boring into his back as he scoops up a serving and makes his way to a corner of the room. He tries to scout the room for his target, who is defiantly there, but almost as soon as he sits down a few of the other patron some over and try to strike up a conversation with him. He eats slowly, replying only when necessary and always with short answers. After a few minutes he spots Shigetoshi walk into the room and casts a faint smile followed by a pleading glance in his direction.
Anything to add that you'd like in the setting?
That's a great idea for starting the whole thing off. I've got the priest forming now, and I just wanna work out some of those little details you mentioned at the bottom before writing him up. I think, the priesthood would be aware that demons are real, but it's such a rare occurrence when they show up that there are only a few priests in the larger parishes that are trained to deal with them. I'd make holy water as unpleasant, but not deadly. As for why pick a priest as a final test. . . . . I'd go with just something around that they are part of the hardest humans to break due to basic catholic beliefs that men in the priesthood should be chaise. More on that when I finish with the priest. Ah, and I was thinking of England? Say, around the time where pantaloons went out of style and lady's dresses became unreasonable?
I was thinking that maybe the dragon comes to the village is is very blunt, and awkward, and the villager takes a little pity on him when the dragon realizes he's hungry and can't exactly go hunting like he use to. He of course would be insulted, but this would give him somewhere to start. After that I could see them, say, camping or something, and they are attacked by bandits? Or even some dragons from his own clan that want him to return. He would change to fight off whatever we decide does the attacking, and then have one of those moments where the dragon is unsure if he's still welcome by his human companion. What do you think?
This is a one-on-one RP between PopeAlessandros and Raafling, if you're not us, don't post! Also, this is a M/M plot, so if you don't like, don't read.
Plot -
As his final test, an incubus is sent to force a Priest to break his vows. Need I say more?
