Sighing internally Kiel chides himself. 'I've made him uncomfortable, I'm being too foolish. The last thing he needs is someone treating him so delicately. I suck' He smiles at the boy's question and takes a moment to think about it. 'I suppose I am a bit unconventional. I'm young, a bit of a slob, and I don't quite have that disapproving glare down yet' He chuckles lightly, using his finger to clean the gravy from his chin. His tongue snakes out to clean the finger before he replies. “I'm glad you like it. I'll pass it on to the chef, it'll make her day.” Tilting his head to the side he gives the boy a lopsided smile.

“I don't believe in one person being the same as another. No matter what a priest “Should be like” the fact remains that I am the way I am, and the way I am is perfectly suited for the job I need to get done.” Straitening up he chuckles lightly and after another bite he adds, “ If all of us were exactly the same I do think the entire thing would fall apart. There wouldn't be any new ideas that we all wouldn't agree on, and growth would cease. I think being different gives us the chance to explore more avenues in life.” Sipping his tea Kiel looks at Zach questioningly. “What do you think?”
Popping his neck Seishu watches his counterpart look at him in confusion before using his own energy to makes the words vanish. 'He gets it. This should be fun' He weaves back and forth, coiling the energy over and over his muscles to loosen them up. He knows he will most likely regret it later, but at this point the Nightmre Guardian needs a little fun. He does a few stretches waiting for Enasi to settle somewhere, and when at last he stops at the bottom of the pool he begins. His body arcs gracefully as he makes several circles in the water, his body twirling like a corkscrew and leaving behind a trail of bubbles that seem to refuse to rise to the surface. Instead they stay where they are, the end result a flower made of bubbles at an angle that Enasi and those above the surface can see clearly.

An ache in his lower back slows his movements for a few seconds, but after a few seconds rest he finishes his round with three small whirlpools around the flower. As his body comes to rest after the last whirlpool is in place he lets out an internal sigh and the bubbles rise to the surface all at once. As they burst a small shower of sparks race across the surface but dissipate after only a couple feet. From above near the doctor Rue lets out a happy giggle and claps his hands in glee. Crios simply rolls his eyes, however behind him his tail sways more easily and indicates he found the display interesting. Turning to Enasi he give him a 'Time for your beginning bid' look and drops down beside him. Turning so he's face the surface he crosses his arms, and waits.

The dream minion races as fast as he can across the plains of the girl's unconscious mind, the gate home in sight. Behind him the black cloud of the nightmare minion slows and an instant later the dram minion vanishes through the gateway to the dream realm. After a few seconds Lilium takes solid form and watches with a cold expression as the gateway vanishes. She is not worried about him reporting the attack. Since Gin took over these attacks have become common place, there is no way he could know about her ulterior motive. The look on her face never changes, only the fire burning deep within her eyes shows how frustrated she is over the loss of yet another dream minion. Closing her eyes she opens her own gate, this one to the human realm and with a flurry of wings she continues her hunt.
*Shrug* Sure. Maybe one of our guys is gunning to take one of the top spots in the organization some day. . . . .The organization falls and our guys have to find a way to survive and maybe create a new organization of some kind. . . . .Humans discover the nonhumans en-mass and the organization has to deal with the fallout. . . . .Time travel is always fun. . . . . .Our guys pick up a case by chance that leads them to a nonhuman child/young kid/young teen that is unclassified and stronger than any other nonhuman. . . . . .Any mix of the above that works for you :P
A tingle rushes through his stomach as the male seems to take a calming breath before responding. His legs come up and begin kicking back and forth much like a teen girl's would as he listens to the other speak. 'So controlled. So calm sounding. He has recovered quickly. It's impressive. The only other guy I have ever seen recovering that quickly is my brother after one of my more insane stunts. But then again, it was in both our best interests for him to do so' He tilts his head as he listens, legs still swaying as he contemplates the other's words. 'Ah, diving right into the meat of the matter I see. I can respect the fact that he wants strait answers, it is the fastest way to reach an end. However, telling him would lead us away from the end I am aiming for'

Feeling actually a little bad about not being able to give Erik a strait answer he looks away with a sigh, his legs slowing. “I am sorry, but I can not reveal my plan to you yet. Perhaps, in time,” his gaze returns to his captive, “I will be able to trust you with it. However until then I can only hope you will come to believe me when I say I am working for the best of all of us, your kind, and mine.” His legs fall back into a steady rhythm as he motions to the place where the chains are attached to the wall. “As for getting out of the chains, around the fifth dose you will be tame enough for me to not have to worry about being strangled in my sleep. However you will have to stay in this room until the seventh dose. After that I may allow you to take trips outside the house. As soon as I'm sure it's taken.”

An earnest shine comes to his eyes as he adds, “I am sure this will be unpleasant for you. Joseph still gets a dark look when he thinks about it, and he was broken centuries ago.” Alexi averts his eyes for a moment before returning his gaze to the chained man. 'Though, if my plan works, we will not get past the fourth dose. . .' He lets out a sigh and smiles at Erik. “Any more questions?”

~*~*~*~*~

Joseph's obvious initial confusion makes Mois's stomach clench. He sets down the slick of sandwich without even taking a bite. His stomach rebels at the action however his concerns outweigh his need to feed. Propping his head up on laced fingers, elbows on his knees, Mois grinds his teeth at Joseph's near panic over the realization of the rebel's presence. 'Alexi didn't even tell him just who he brought in. I know it's his plan that no one from the rebellion finds out about this, however I would have thought that he would at least tell Joseph. . . .' He watches in mild fascination as the vampire visibly calms down and his tone returns to normal in only a few seconds. With a sigh he looks to his old caretaker and says, “I'm sure he just forgot in all the excitement of the arrival.”

Shaking his head he sits back, his hands gripping the arms of the chair lightly. “Alexi will be most appreciative if you would keep any of the servants from finding out about the, um, wild vampire. . .” He hesitates for a moment, but then concern for his brother overrides caution. Leaning closer to Joseph he lowers his voice, though he knows there is no one around to overhear him. “This is not just some wild vampire Joseph. This guy is the leader of the rebellion.” Shaking his head again he brings a hand up and presses it against his forehead. His eyes close as he whispers, “Brother tells me that he has some plan for bringing peace, but in order for it to work he has to hard break this guy.” His eyes open, hands falling to his knees where they take a white knuckled grip.

Looking deep into Joseph's eyes his tone becomes openly worried. “I have no idea what the whole plan is, but the fact that he refuses to tell it all to me give me enough reason to feel on edge.” He lets out a sigh, leaning back into the chair his eyes fall closed again. “I have tried over and over to figure out what he's up to. I know that after the breaking there is no way for him to even rejoin the rebellion, let alone regain his old post. . .” His voice tapers off and he sits silently for a few seconds before his eyes open and seek out once more those of the vampire.
Sober. . . Do you mean Somber?
Dorian raises an eyebrow, however does not question her honesty. His sword tip lowers ever so slightly, allowing for her to step back slowly. Keeping it at the ready of to his side he once again looks her up and down carefully. 'There is a base level of ware on he hems, so I believe she has indeed been traveling' His gaze returns to her eyes. 'However there is no denying that she has some relation to this young one' Shifting his weight he brings one hand up to his chest and gives a slight tilt of his head. “Forgive the abruptness Miss, I simply have a few questions for you, then you may be on your way.” His hand falls back to his side where he brushes back his sir coat and takes hold of his hip. She watches the gesture and swallow hard, her own body shifting restlessly.

Keeping his blade at the ready Dorian slides back over to the boy and wraps and arm around his back, slipping his fingers beneath his arm so he can grip his ribs gently. His cold smile returns as he looks to her with a harsh yet subtle curiosity. “The first question is rather simple, and will help me assess how much I can trust your words.” Her eyes narrow but she remains silent. 'Give a little, get a little. You know the game Miss' “What brings you to this town?”

Her eyes stay focused on Dorian however her expression makes it obvious it's not the question she was expecting. After a moment of silence she begins playing the game. She adopts a false smile of her own and shifts into a more casual looking stance. “I was simply passing through on my way to Fendree Port, two towns over.” She shakes her head slightly, her hair shifting back and forth in the moonlight. “Since I have no major clan I belong to, I have to take meals where I can find them. The pickings on the road were scarce so rather than passing right through, I stopped for a little snack.” She raises an eyebrow, questioning if her response was good enough with her expression.

The elder vampire watches her closely, not moving save to sooth the boy with soft petting motions to keep him calm. “She is no expert at the game, however she has been coached in it's basic structure. She gave me a bit of information I did not ask for. This is a ploy so that she may pretend to be rather greener than she truly is'[/i] He gives her a slight nod and watches the subtle movements of her hands as she relaxes ever so slightly. 'She needs much more practice. Such a ploy only works when done with more emotion, more nervousness' Taking a breath he drives on to the next question to throw her off balance. “I see, then perhaps this is a lucky coincidence on my part. See, I must learn all I can about this boy, and one such as you passing through out of pure happenstance give me a chance to ask about your family.” He motions to James with his head. “You have surely noticed that you share a close enough relation to share the same scent, so please, tell me of your lineage.” She indeed looks thrown off balance by the sudden onslaught, however Dorian refrains from any show of triumph.
You may assume Chall sits down at the table should you wish to extend your post to that point :P
'~The sun shines bright through the halls, flooding the cold stone with it's warming rays. Chall lets out a long sigh, the day never ending. Through the small window of his cluttered room the sound of laughter come unbidden. His rises, layers of dust falling from the old tomb in his fingers. Blinded by the light he closes his eyes as he approaches the window. When at last he reaches, his feet unhindered by the clutter, his body moving of it's own accord around the mess. His eyes open and he looks down upon the outer courtyard. There, running playfully with a pack of children at his heels is his brother. A smile threatens to pull his lips tight, but Chall is too busy. He must finish this text before the next meeting with his master. His eyes return to the dust old room.

~~~
Blazing overhead, the heat of the sun warms him thoroughly as he walks across the grounds. Laughter comes from somewhere out of sight. He continues on, his eyes on the grassy floor beneath him. He has no time, he must get where he's going. Passing into the stone hall his brows furrow in confusion. There is still grass beneath his feet. Soft and plush, it continues on in both directions. The smell is far too fresh, something is. . .There, his eyes snap up as the laughter once again reaches his ears. The hall ends not ten feet ahead, opening into a great hall. But something is wrong, the hall if filled with flowers, trees, his brother hanging from one of the lower branches. His laughter sounds far away, his smile blurry. Chall is frozen he can not move. He longs to move on, to do what he needs to, however the sight holds him fast. He can't. . . .~
With a gasp Chall awakens, the sound of his harsh breathing all he can hear. His eyes dart about the room, but just as he begins to panic at the unfamiliar surrounding his memory comes back to him and his tense muscles relax. The dream fades quickly as he recalls the recent events and with a sigh his tail comes up and brushes his damp cheek. 'That's right, I am staying with a stranger. . . .His name. . .' He pauses for a moment then smiles faintly as he realizes they never exchanged names. The sound of singing from behind the door causes him to glance at it, tilting his head to the side. However the habit of humans singing to themselves is one he's grown accustom too and he soon loses interest. The chirping of birds and various other animal noises draw his attention to the small window off to the side of the bed. The throbbing pain in his shoulder pulls a groan out of him as he scoots carefully out of bed towards the window. Before standing though he notices that there is a lump under the blanket.
'What the?' Turning so he can use his good arm he shifts the blanket aside. The bundle of cloth confuses him for a few seconds, then he recalls what the man had said about heating stones. 'He really is a kind man. And quiet. I didn't even notice him bring them in. . . .' His faint smile makes an appearance once again for a few seconds, then the pain in his arm makes him wince. Shuffling slowly to the window he undoes the latch and lets it swing open. His eyes remain sharp as he surveys the area for any living thing that may take interest is him. The window looks towards the town, far in the distance down a tall hill. The hill itself is occupied by a few small hens, some flowers, and a butterfly riding the faint morning breeze.
Chall takes in the signs of life with a gentle feeling in his chest, the sight of it all relaxing him further. 'It is nice here. I hope to be moving on soon, but this is not a bad place to be for a while' Bringing up his right hand he pierces the pad of his index finger with a fang. Making sure there's enough blood on his finger, he drops his hand down to the sill and closes his eyes. He calls to the wind, his finger on the outside of the sill drawing a simple sigl, and with a sharp breath he finishes his spell. Opening his eyes once more he brings his finger to his mouth and licks away the excess blood. 'Now if anyone approaches, the wind will let me know. Well, as long as I have access to it' Looking over his shoulder he tilts his head with a contemplative look on his face. 'I wonder if he would mind me leaving this open. . . .'
After a few deep breaths of fresh air Chall pulls the window mostly closed and turns towards the door. Moving carefully around the small room, dodging the sparse furnishings, he slips out into the small alcove, leaving the door open a few inches. The smell of food reaches him and he inhales the scent deeply. 'Ah, food. . .' His stomach turns over, giving out an audible gurgling sound. The cat from the night before pauses in it's trek across the living area at the sound and looks to Chall with a curious flick of the tail. The young mage responds in kind and after a moment the feline continues her stroll. 'It doesn't know what to make of me yet. I wonder how old it is. . . .' With nearly silent footfalls Chall makes his way gingerly into the living area, his nose pulling his attention to the food laidened table. His ears twitch as the sound of the man's singing now reaches them unhindered by doors and walls.
In the warm light of day the interior of the small building is far more inviting and he can feel himself smiling lightly as he catches the older male's eye. His ears snap around to the sound of a large beast outside the door but after a few seconds he deems it non-threatening. 'Sounds like a horse, or a cow. Though why it is so close to the residence, I would not begin to guess' His smile fades slightly as he looks once more to the food and his stomach growls once again. A faint flush finds it's way to his cheeks and his tail lashes back and forth in embarrassment. 'Though it is no wonder. I am use to full meals at the palace, the past few weeks have been less than satisfactory as far as meals go, and last night all I had was some herbal tea for supper' His eyes rove over the two place settings and he looks once more to his host, the flush still tinging his cheeks. “I would not wish to assume anything, but my I inquire as to if one of those places set for me?” His tail stills as he speaks, pressed gently against the floor and stiff as he waits for a response.
His fingers continue to run through the boy's hair, his close proximity making him sigh on the inside. 'I recall this clingyness. Felt different when the child was my own. I guess I will have to adjust' He watches her closely as she formulates a completely reasonable response, however her rather stiff movements and short clipped sentences speak to the contrary. 'It is likely that she may have no direct knowledge of James directly, however I can tell she is no fool.' He shifts slightly as her eyes travel once more over the newborn. 'She knows they are connected somehow. I must know what she knows' He lets out a sigh as she moves to walk past them again, setting James off like a guard dog defending it's master's home.
With a light shushing sound he looks down at the boy, tugging on his hair gently. The woman sees her chance and tries to walk swiftly past them, hugging the wall furthest from the two of them. However Dorian expected such a move and is ready to counter. Slipping carefully from the young one's grasp he turns on the spot, his sword clearing the scabbard with an audible metal scraping sound. She freezes at the sound, his blade stopping less than an inch from her throat barring her path. “Forgive my lack of patience Miss, however I need for you not to leave just yet.” His voice is low, far cooler than usual, and his eyes flash in the moonlight. She swallows hard, looking at the two of them through frightened yet defiant eyes. After a moment she decides it's in her own best interest to cooperate, at least until she can flee safely.
