I kind of see where you guys are all coming from with this.

I can understand the point Dead and Frozen are making, there are certain cases where a character like this can ruin things, or more of an overall feel, a character cracking jokes, doing dumb sorts of things or just generally being comic relief at the wrong times, or constantly, can be irritating and generally not too fun to role play with.

At the same time, I don't really think we've seen enough (or at least, I haven't seen enough) about or surrounding Light to really make a judgement over whether or not the character is like that. Personally, i've seen more comedic characters role played in this sort of environment really well, if the character has the capacity to step up and put on at least a serious face when it matters, then in my opinion it generally works, and so far I haven't seen anything to say Light can't do that.

I sort of misunderstood before what you guys were arguing about so, my bad there, but I respect all your guys views here, I think it'd be a shame to hold a character back or deny them on an assumption of bad things to come or bad intention, but ultimately if you guys just don't want to rp with that sort of character just in case, that's totally well-founded as well.

I'm just going to wait for Intel's decision though, I just like adding my two cents.

Edit: Intel's suggestion is pretty fair, i'd say.

Personally, I don't really have much issue with the character, it's not like we're going to be fighting against them, and there's superheroes who are more overpowered, certainly. There's reasonable enough weakness that the character has, after all she seems relatively easy to bind/incapacitate, which I would say makes up for the fact that they can't die.

The only sort of way I could see the character 'dying' was if they could be forced out of the physical realm for a period of time, more of a temporary death.

That's just my two cents on it though, up to Intel at the end of the day.

Marcus has a number of scars, particularly around his cybernetic arm, but also across most of his torso, the majority appear to be from surgeries, but there are a few from shrapnel and bullet wounds. He has a tattoo along the underside of his right forearm, and another from his back left shoulder to the middle of his back, this one is cut in half by the cybernetic arm, however. He has no visible birthmarks or abnormalities, apart from the arm itself.

Marcus' day-to-day outfit is generally designed to make him blend in as much as possible, he generally wears a jacket, long-sleeved shirts and gloves to cover his glaringly obvious left arm. He doesn't put a great deal of effort into looking fashionable, and instead focuses on being comfortable while looking as generic as he can. He'll usually be wearing a cap with his longer hair tucked back, and if not, he'll generally have it up in a small bun or ponytail, so it isn't in his eyes.

Marcus' 'Work' outfit is rather different and far more combat-oriented. His torso is protected by a Kevlar bodysuit and his unaugmented arm is covered, he wears a face-mask to conceal his identity, and a utility belt around his waist holds extra ammunition and equipment.

Born into an all-American patriotic family in the quintessential town of Springfield, Illinois, Marcus was brought into the world as the only child of a happily-married couple. His father made sure that Marcus knew from a young age that he would need to uphold a tradition of men in his family, one where all Williams men would serve in the military in some way or another. It was a tradition which Marcus accepted and grew up happy to be a part of. It did not take long for Marcus to decide that he would follow in his father's footsteps as a Navy SEAL as well.

Training throughout much of his young and teenage life, Marcus was ready to, and happily enlisted shortly after graduating from high school. Graduating from Navy SEAL BUD/s training, it wasn't long before Marcus was through all of his training and deployed on his first operations in the Middle East. Assisting local forces in their fight against terrorist forces. Marcus served with relative distinction, being granted a Navy Cross and at one point recommended for a Medal of Honor. He continued to serve for many years effectively, and advanced quickly within the SEAL teams, until he was caught in a large explosion in a terrorist stronghold, and listed as deceased officially.

In reality, Marcus' body was recovered by another team of special forces operators, and brought under the care of a department of defense medical and R&D team, headed by his own mother. This team replaced the majority of Marcus' internal organs which were damaged by the explosion with cybernetic enhancements, as well as replacing his left arm, which was severely burnt in the explosion. After his 'resurrection' of sorts, Marcus was sent on numerous black ops by the US Military, used to assassinate high-ranking terrorist leaders, and generally sent on lone-wolf high-risk missions. During this period Marcus earned his alias, as the terrorist groups he attacked put up a bounty for his execution or capture, referring to him as 'The Iron Hand'. This continued until Marcus reached the age of 25, when he finally asked to be discharged.

Reluctant to lose their personal killing machine, the department of defense made a deal with Marcus, he would go on one last, incredibly high-risk operation, and if he completed it, he could leave the military. Sent into the Amazon rainforest to clear it of a large terrorist presence, Marcus managed not only to complete the mission, but with significant effort managed to break apart the entire command of the terrorist group, which was played off in the media as a result of 'in-fighting'. Having completed the mission, the military still had no real desire to let Marcus go, and did what they could to make him stay, even threatening him. Only angered by this, Marcus went AWOL and disappeared to Turkey, living in relative obscurity in Istanbul.

Although he was tired of his own service, at least under the US government, Marcus felt a longing and a need to still use his augments to assist people, considering the massive downfall the world seemed to be in. As a result he came to accept the call when it came, despite his better judgement.

Personality: Perhaps Jeremy's most prominent trait is his dry humour and wit, which he makes use of even in the worst times. This can make him appear rather unprofessional, or unserious, but in reality he primarily uses it as a sort of coping mechanism to keep himself calm in anxious or dangerous situations. These sorts of situations are ones that Jeremy finds himself in regularly, an adrenaline junkie, Jeremy is a 'treasure hunter' by choice, and is drawn more than anything by the incredible risk which goes into it. What Brings You To The City: Having just gotten out of prison in Mexico City, and arriving back in the States, Jeremy heard the news of Peyton Glencross and the missing Professor Gerard. Seeing it as an offer too dripping with opportunities to pass up, and forseeing some big hunt to follow if he got involved, Jeremy quickly got a place in Justice and made his way there, looking forward to the possibilities of things to come.

Life Before You Moved In: Abandoned as a baby by an unwanting pair of teenage parents, Jeremy grew up in a Catholic Orphanage, where he first gained his interest and love of history and myth. Although not exactly becoming religious, Jeremy became quickly fascinated with the history books in the orphanages library, and the lessons he was taught throughout his young childhood. Jeremy began to hold the books quite dear, and this got him some unwanted attention from bullies who would mock his 'nerdy' habits. Not one to back down, even though his tormentors were usually bigger than him, Jeremy began to start getting into fights with the other kids, causing some great havoc for the priests and nuns who ran the orphanage. Many grew tired of the young boys antics as he fought more and more, and seemed to explore his more adventurous habits by sneaking out of his dorm and into the library late at night for more study. His teacher however, Father McKinnon, grew quite affectionate for young Jeremy however, and encouraged his learning more and more, even going to his own expense to buy more books for the boy.

Jeremy's bad habits only got worse as he grew older, in his teenage years his adventurous nature took over more and more, and he stopped just sneaking into the Library, and began sneaking out of the Orphanage, a feat which usually required scaling the walls and buildings to do. This got him into even more trouble, and that troublesome nature became much of the reason that the boy was never adopted, having no real parental figures in his life aside from Father McKinnon, who continued to take a shine to the boy's adventurous and historical spirit. At the urging of Father McKinnon, Jeremy left the Orphanage at the age of eighteen to go to university, managing to get into an Arts Degree at Harvard, where he majored in History and took up Archaeology as a minor. It was in these early years of university when Jeremy first encountered what would arguably shape his life - the Indiana Jones films. Becoming enthralled with the films, Jeremy saw parallels between the titular character and himself, and began to idolize the idea of being a treasure hunter.

Such a dream is what started to get Jeremy into even more trouble, driven by lust for history and adventure, and an awful lot of bad ideas, Jeremy snuck into the Peabody museum in his final year of university, and with the help of a few friends and contacts he'd made over the past few years, stole an Aztec artifact on display which he believed would lead him to the treasure of Montezuma. For the next many years, Jeremy searched for clues that might take him to Montezuma's treasure, picking up other similar jobs along the way. He made contacts and connections around the world and made many minor finds, sunken pirates ships, ancient ruins and temples, but nothing quite so glorious or grandiose as he wished. At the age of 26, Jeremy hoped to settle down for a while, and even got married, but his marriage did not last long as Jeremy soon ran off to Tibet, following a lead he believed would lead him to discover Shangri-La. While he did not find Shangri-La, he found more clues and gained more information which he believed would take him to his first great goal, Montezuma's treasure.

Finding himself in Mexico City, Jeremy fell deep into the hunt, his actions getting the attention of a few local criminals also interested in the fortune he was seeking, and with their attention came the attention of the authorities. Believing the final key of the puzzle which would lead him to Montezuma's treasure was in the Anahuacalli Museum, Jeremy broke in, but was quickly found and captured by the police, who had been tipped off to his plans by one of the many criminals who had been stalking him. Jeremy spent the next two years of his life in a Mexico City prison, and has since returned to the United States, believing his treasure to be lost.

Life Since You Moved In: Jeremy has been getting into contact with some of his old contacts, as well as trying to narrow down some people who may have known Peyton Glencross, hoping they might have some idea as to what she was involved in. He hasn't been in town long, however, so little progess has been made.

Mail call. The most painfully dull, slow, inefficient and generally unneeded aspect of the German Army, or any military organization for that matter. To some of the others in his squad, returning from a long field exercise to the mail which had been held from them was a welcome treat, but Joel just wanted to find an actual, comfortable bed and fall asleep.

"Obergefreiter Gott." The Administrative Corporal droned on as he went down the list in his hand, a small stack of letters in his hand.

"Ja." An equally droning voice sounded from beside Joel, the man in question. He received his mail and moved off away from the group, idly flicking through bills and junk mail for anything of actual interest. The second he was out of his peripherals, Joel didn't care, he just wanted to hear his name so he could go to his bunk and pass out.

"Hauptgefreiter Grau." The Corporal continued with the next name - the one Joel had been waiting for, he glanced momentarily to the man's hand, he held a selection of letters, but under-arm was a box, intricately carved with golden latches - he wasn't one for antiques, so he doubted it had been sent to him as any sort of gift, but he didn't know anyone who would send packages in such a manner.

"Ja." Joel finally responded, moving toward the Corporal to retrieve his mail. Originally he couldn't have cared less what his mail was, but as he carried it back toward his bunk and looked over the box - ignoring the confused glances and stares from the others in the barrack - he built quite the intrigue toward it. Tossing aside his other letters as insignificant in comparison, Joel sat down on his bunk, setting the box in his lap, he figured if it had made it this far into the base he resided in, it wasn't dangerous to any degree. Or, rather, Joel assumed it wasn't dangerous.

Gently, he set his finger and thumb on the gold pin, pulling it from the latch as he slowly and delicately lifted the lid, peering within. This was seeming less and less like something that would've been intended for him. Crimson velvet padded lining, and a trifolded piece of thick paper? This was an awfully over-complicated way for someone to be sending him a letter. But it was certainly not a letter, as Joel soon realised. Opening it, he had to do a double take as he looked over the two tickets he held, from Munich to Paris, and a boarding pass for the Orient Express.

As he sat and read the letter, Joel gathered somewhat of an audience, a few of his friends and comrades moving over to his bunk to peer over his shoulder at what was before him, a few unimpressed or unknowing 'huh' sounds coming from the majority as they moved on to other things. Joel, on the other hand, was simply confused. Why had he been picked? He'd been told a while ago that he should take some leave, the man hadn't since his third deployment, so he certainly would have been able to get the time off for this little 'vacation' - but Joel still groaned.

The process of bringing Marcus back was a long one, and required his cryogenic freezing for close to seven years for it to be complete. After his 'resurrection' of sorts, Marcus was sent on numerous black ops by the US Military, used to assassinate high-ranking terrorist leaders, and generally sent on lone-wolf high-risk missions. During this period Marcus earned his alias, as the terrorist groups he attacked put up a bounty for his execution or capture, referring to him as 'The Iron Hand'. This continued until Marcus reached the age of 28, when he finally asked to be discharged.

Reluctant to lose their personal killing machine, the department of defense made a deal with Marcus, he would go on one last, incredibly high-risk operation, and if he completed it, he could leave the military. Sent into the Amazon rainforest to clear it of a large terrorist presence, Marcus managed not only to complete the mission, but with significant effort managed to break apart the entire command of the terrorist group, which was played off in the media as a result of 'in-fighting'. Having completed the mission, the military still had no real desire to let Marcus go, and did what they could to make him stay, even threatening him. Only angered by this, Marcus went AWOL and disappeared to Turkey, living in relative obscurity in Istanbul.

Although he was tired of his own service, at least under the US government, Marcus felt a longing and a need to still use his augments to assist people, considering the massive downfall the world seemed to be in. As a result he came to accept the call when it came, despite his better judgement.

Marcus has a number of scars, particularly around his cybernetic arm, but also across most of his torso, the majority appear to be from surgeries, but there are a few from shrapnel and bullet wounds. He has a tattoo along the underside of his right forearm, and another from his back left shoulder to the middle of his back, this one is cut in half by the cybernetic arm, however. He has no visible birthmarks or abnormalities, apart from the arm itself.

Marcus' day-to-day outfit is generally designed to make him blend in as much as possible, he generally wears a jacket, long-sleeved shirts and gloves to cover his glaringly obvious left arm. He doesn't put a great deal of effort into looking fashionable, and instead focuses on being comfortable while looking as generic as he can. He'll usually be wearing a cap with his longer hair tucked back, and if not, he'll generally have it up in a small bun or ponytail, so it isn't in his eyes.

Marcus' 'Work' outfit is rather different and far more combat-oriented. His torso is protected by a Kevlar bodysuit and his unaugmented arm is covered, he wears a face-mask to conceal his identity, and a utility belt around his waist holds extra ammunition and equipment.

Augmented Strength - Marcus' cybernetic arm is custom-made and designed to give him far greater strength, with a little effort, he can easily tear a car door off, or pack much more force into a punch.
Enhanced Reactions - Marcus' has been equipped with a neural implant which allows him heightened senses, increasing his reaction time and making him generally faster to respond to threats, or to adapt in a fight.

Marcus only has one cybernetic limb, and as a result the extra force and strength which it provides doesn't apply to any of his other limbs, or even him generally. He might be able to punch a hole through a brick wall with his left arm, but he certainly couldn't with his right. His cybernetics are also not self-powering, and while they generally can last for a while, over-working and over-use can generally make their enhancement far weaker.

Since his augmentation, Marcus has suffered from sort sort of bipolarity. Before his augmentation, and when he isn't working, Marcus is generally a kind individual, easy to be around and befriend, a trustworthy individual who would go to most any end to help people. He is quick to crack a joke, and even quicker to put himself at risk for others or try to offer them some sort of assistance in any way he can. He is fiercely loyal to his friends, easily trusted with any sort of secret. He is an incredibly polite individual as well, fitting the model of an ideal soldier through-and-through, as he's also quite disciplined.

When he is working, and in fact the second he usually puts on his mask, Marcus adopts an entirely different persona. Marcus isn't particularly cruel, but usually shows no remorse when it comes to his enemies, and generally no mercy either. He has no particular moral code which restricts him, and is just as content to kill his enemy as wound them, as was generally his job when he was first augmented. He can be relatively difficult to control when in this sort of phase, and the longer fighting goes on, the worse it generally gets, with Marcus progressively becoming more and more brutal. He can get like this even when not fighting however, and dealing with Marcus at this time is usually rather difficult, as he becomes cynical, mean, and under the general assumption that most people are out to get him.
