Kind of fallout-y, but a little less than that.
hello!
bloop.
Nikko felt Jaya's eyes on him and looked around, stopping at Jaya and looking at her for a moment before returning his gaze to Katara. He nodded at the comment of not paying attention to snapping to judgements. He wondered if Katara thought the same way he did once her journey around the world again, knowing that not all people of the Fire Nation were inherently evil or bad.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Nikko took a few quick steps over to Katara. "Hold on!" He told her. "Is your brother Sokka around? It was really nice to see you, and I'm curious as to what the others of your group are doing, if you don't mind."
It was based off of a roleplay called 'The day the earth fell'
When Jaya disappeared, Nikko looked at Katara and listened with interest. It was cool that Aang was making his own city, and maybe Nikko would be able to see it when it was finished. He then nodded at her observation and looked down at his clothing breifly before looking back at her. "Yeah, I'm from the Northern Water Tribe. I left some time before you, your brother, and Aang came to the North."

Seeing Jaya, Nikko smiled and nodded. "And warm too, right?"
Many years ago, the world plummeted. Nobody knew who started it, but we have ceased to care. All that matters is that the world was plunged into chaos. Nuclear missiles launched from every country that had them, nobody was safe. This went on for years, even after the missiles exploded. Then it happened.

First it was one person, then another, then there was a rather large explosion of people who had abilities never seen before. Science couldn't explain how they worked, but people didn't seem to care. All they knew is that people were becoming superhumans, with spiritual and scientific abilities that surpassed our understanding of science.

After the war, the earth became deathly silent, trying to salvage any remains of civilization and recreate the world. With the help of the Abnormals, as the superhumans were called, it made rebuilding easier, but also more difficult. Eventually, Sanctuary was built in the ruins of Washington DC, a new city with walls as high as buildings, making sure that people couldn't get in or out. A new guard force was created to protect Sanctuary, consisting of any able-bodied people within the walls.

The Leader of Sanctuary is known as The Mother, who was one of the first Abnormals to be created. She had many abilities at her disposal, and her longevity and vitality kept her from aging as quickly as normal people. She created pure water for the people of Sanctuary, among many other things.

There had been many times in the past where Sanctuary has been attacked, and all of those times, The Mother was able to help the people of her city by siding with the patrol, but these days she had grown old, and cannot fight and protect like she used to. Now, the people of Sanctuary need to find the next Mother, so that they may protect the city from natural dangers and other humans out in the red waste. Their time is short, and the supplies are limited.
Senge wasn't used to the feeling of snow, and picked his head out of the snow once Jaya teased him.

Nikko nodded. "Yeah. It stays this cold all the time, and can easily get colder." He told him friend, who burned the snow in her hands with a small burst of flames. Nikko's head quickly turned into the direction of where the voice was and didn't place the voice and appearance until he heard the name. he was rather still in shock. He followed Katara and Jaya into one of the snow huts and looked at Jaya when she looked at him.

"I'm Nikko." He told the fellow waterbender. He didn't know what to say to someone as imortant as she was. He had heard that she was the one who discovered Aang in the iceberg. "So you're really Katara? The one who helped Avatar Aang beat Ozai?"
Nikko gave Jaya a half smile. Master Paku had tried, and failed at being Nikkos master. The old man couldn't find a way to teach Nikko the proper style, and it really wasn't his fault. Nikko believed it to be his own fault that he couldn't be taught, and not Paku's fault for not teaching him. "You should really." Nikko told her.

As they reached the dock, the young water bender wasn't expecting Jaya to grab a hold of his hand and drag him onto the dock. As she did it, he let out a surprised yelp, and smiled at Senge, who seemed to be overjoyed at reaching land. The Armadillo Lion the dug its head into the ground, feeling the new substance he didn't seem to be familiar with.
