Hello, welcome to the planning/interest check thread of The Space Age. This sci-fi nation roleplay will take place somewhere in 2050, where The Space Age begins. The place will be our dear planet, Earth, with our lovely nations in the modern day world. There will be UK, America, and other nations (that you can control) as they competing against each other for power and control in space and in our moon, Luna. Of course, this idea isn't in the final phase, so it might change. And the world is still the same, there wasn't no Third World War or Nuclear War.
Anyways, shall we go and talk about the plot?
The Plot
In the year 2030, Earth holds around 8.3 billion people and it was getting too much to care for. Trees were cut, water was disappearing, and important resources were almost gone. The world was dying and everyone tried to not realize that. But, the islands of Britain did and with the help of her allies (America, France, Germany, etc.), they soon revealed their plans to go to space and try to colonize Luna, our moon.
So, they start on building it with the limited money that the countries had. Later, Russia and China soon learned that Britain and her allies were building a spaceship and the reason behind it. Which caused them to band together to build another spaceship; but, they didn't finish it because of money issues. Fast forward to 2046, and the spaceship is almost done. The countries began to accept people, who signed up for the spot on the ship.
Doctor, scientists, construction workers, and many other important people in the world were selected and trained to get used to living on the moon. And then, the name of the ship was selected and it was called, HMS Explorer. They now have to find a good, flat surface to land on the moon. They at first selected to land on the dark side of the moon; but, it was risky to do so. So, they decided to land at Sinus Iridum, near the Mare Imbrium.
Now, in 2050, the world watches as The Explorer gets ready to take off at the largest air base in England, Brize Norton. And as soon as The Explorer takes off, it will start a new age:
The Space Age.

Please be realism when you're making your country. Don't be like, “AMERICA CONTROLS ALL OF THE AMERICAS, BECAUSE IT CAN.”. The country would have been bombed if that happened.
Well, the Nuclear Bomb did help jump start the Space Age in the 50s-70s. So I might have them to have a serious side-effect for dropping the bomb on Hiroshima. Of course there's radiation, but I would want some more deadly. Maybe like make the radiation spread a longer range and be more deadly to humans and the environment. Something that would of been enough for America and the world to stop making.
