It's called progression of time.
I debated whether Fiora would nickname Aden Crabbypants or Smartass but since Seira already pointed out the former...
Jason cracked a smile when the girl with him finally laughed. When they heard the Chrono's yell echo through the tunnels, Jason sighed. "Sure we could do that, though I suggest we hurry before the enemies catch us from behind... someone is already nearb-"

As if on cue, Jason suddenly found himself being told to step away from his fellow Asylum and was just staring blankly at the pair threatening him. They seemed to be under the impression that he was mugging the lady beside or something. "Did you bring bodyguards?" Jason asked with a raised eyebrow, finding the situation too amusing not to snark about it. "On our first date too... I don't know if I should be insulted."

In the interest of not being riddled with bullet holes, however, he stepped away as instructed. "I was just showing her some card tricks." He protested, feigning innocence - no, he WAS innocent. It didn't hurt to sell his attackers on the idea though.

This day was just getting better and better.
Fiora nodded at Aden's interpretation of her word. He was a bit snobbish about it but considering he was rather bruised and seemed to have a fragile body, she was willing to forgive him.

She listened to the conversation following the yell they heard. It seemed the other Asian woman wasn't very bright and Aden was a smartass. A rude one at that. The polite ones at least had the decency to talk nicely. Or shut up altogether.

"Rude." She muttered as he took the lead down to the right. She passed Seira the light around her neck, placing it around the medic's neck herself. Fiora was used to working in the dark. The woman seemed to need it more.

She had only a pistol, if Fiora remembered correctly, so the Hunter pushed the woman ahead. If they were going to move away from their enemies and towards the Chrono, it made sense for the one with more firepower to stay at the back. If only Smartass would have thought to do that instead of walking ahead.

"Rear guard." She pointed at herself while taking up the position. Aden didn't have that much of a lead but it wouldn't do to get left behind... or get chased down. "Hurry."

As they took off down the tunnel after Aden, Fiora started humming again, this time to the tune of "I Won't Say I'm in Love" from Hercules, a tune that Jason would recognise since she made him watch it whenever it was on instead of whatever thieving or magic related film he was watching. Her partner would know they were near once he heard the tune.

Mechs do hell of a lot more damage than a battle suit though.

I'm just saying have one renders the other redundant.

Why not do both? Have her inside battle armor mech suit, jump down from a building and introduce as she presses buttons on a remote in her suit's arm... That way she's not in any actual danger, it's not boring and she can safely control it via remote with little to no interference and with little worry of it getting hijacked.

Because if she has a battle suit she wouldn't have needed a mech, duh.
Alright, sure. You can have him meet her on the way back into the city, depending on which situation resolves first.

Kayla sighed as she stepped out of her meeting with the two Councillors. She hated politics and all that came with it - why was it so difficult for people to simply do good and right by their fellow man? Well, she could answer that herself - they had a very narrow-minded view of what "fellow man" included. At the very least, it seemed the Councillors were deep in thought and willing to reconsider their stance on the situation.

Neither man had been able to argue against her logic, but she knew better than to trust rationality to win over politicians. Though Vates was a stubborn man, he seemed to take her words seriously, at least. Hopefully by tomorrow he was willing to take a stand against the war, if not abstain from the vote. There was little love for the daeva in the human and seraphim kingdoms, but at least the seraphim considered themselves a little more refined in their treatment of "lesser races".

There was little else to be done, since there was little chance she'd be able to petition the other Councillors on such short notice. Besides, they probably knew she had already been invited to speak to two of the Council already and any attempt to speak to the rest so soon might make her seem desperate. They all knew she had good reason to be in such a rush, but the ones who cared and would entertain her were the ones who were against the war in the first place.

She was barely out the door when she saw a familiar face headed in her direction. "Neon!" Kayla cried out, waving cheerfully at the dragonness. "Perfect time. I just spoke to Macto and Munus, hopefully they'll both reconsider their stance on supporting the humans... I could accompany you if you're speaking to the rest of the Council. My presence should help your case at least a little."
Alright that's cool. I still haven't specified whether or not Lily is actually in the mech, because having her inside it puts her in actual danger, as opposed to it being a remote control thing because that'd just be boring.
