From reading, my assumption is his comment was in response to acknowledging that while he himself was aware of the power levels of the characters in the tournament, his character was not - the rationale for why he was hiding in a tree and not directly engaging even though his character was likely able to with a distinct advantage.

Then I was likely applying it to the wrong thing, which then raises the question of why he avoided that question anyway.
In part, maybe. But you can have 10 fights; and if you win none of them, you are still at 1000, and 10 people, potentially, have 1100 now. So, no matter how many fights you'd get in, you still have to /win/ them.
The rankings are fine. I think the issue, however, is everyone has a different idea on how the points should be distributed. Some are against the points for losing, and some aren't.

After talking with Skallagrim, and reading what's here. I'm thinking this may be the best course.

Gain of 10% of losers total. Losers lose nothing in the exchange, but gain potentially valuable experience for their next fight.

We'll keep the current point standings, and to calculate 10%, we can round up/down(103, for say 1025), you get the idea.

End of the year, we'll reset the points to start a new season.

Skallagrim proposed a off season of 2 months; that'll disrupt the tournaments, I imagine, but we can find a work around for that.

I'm also thinking that maybe you have to fight through the whole roster, to ensure everyone gets to fight everyone, instead of just the same people over and over again; as well as preventing people from fighting less capable fighters to pad the points.
I'm curious as to a comment he made in the OOC of his fight. When Melonhead mentioned him being of higher tier than expected, he seemed to blow it off with 'I know the power levels of the tournament, and she doesn't.' and implied she could brute force everyone and win.
Hahah. Take your time.
The Raeym Corporatiion must have really wanted to send him a message, just like the mob of the old earthen days, they didn't play about their money. This assassin, using the high guard, had been given special orders to handle him up close and personal. It was a play straight out of the playbooks of infamous mafia members Lucky Luciano, and his cohorts.

Tre'yan studied the man, using the boxing compass to quickly pinpoint the different areas the man could potentially attack from.

He continued to bounce backwards and forward, staying light and virtually on his toes in order to quickly react with speed and precision. His hands stayed in front of his body, the guarding and offensive positions having not yet changed.

The bout was on! The ghosts took an inward gasp as the assassin, armed with the vicious Ka-Bar knife, lifted the weapon overhead, and came forward, aiming to rip Tre'Yan in twine with the sharp edge.

The compass.

High right, Tre'Yan's High Left.

It was angled to his Low Left, Tre'Yan's low Right.

It would be brutal should it manage to hit.

Using his exceptional footwork, Tre'Yan slipped to the back, avoiding the blow as it came ripping down. The knife hadnt't changed position, so a counter above the knife would result in a cut along his dominant arm.

Smart ploy. Another boxer would have fell hook, line, and sinker. Earth expressions.

No, Tre'Yan kept the distance, taking only a step forward, as Cho would step back, and feinting with a right jab, purposely aiming to make the attack look like it was coming for the body, instead of a head shots.

Body offered a bigger mass, after all.
No one is so far out that keeping the point gain for a loss is gonna help them much. The furthest is only 2 wins away from the lowest, so everyone is still well within range of the winner.
Which direction is your slash heading?
Niks.
skallagrim has little to do with the Rebellion, aside from a run in in the past.

The Rebellion oppose Rilla, the Sacred, Ouro, and Joseph, because they are dicks - of the highest calibur. Including several attempts to mass murder everyone and each other. The Rebellion see them, or rather did - Only Joseph and Ouro made the jump to the new multiverse - as threats to society, Gods and Kings that needed to be put down for the betterment of man, and essentially survival. So, in essence, they are good guys. Insofar as intention.

Personality? They are decent there as well, honestly.
