Race and Origin: Caucasian. Born and raised in central U.S but spend his adult life in New York
Appearance: With his brown, nearly black hair, the grey hair that have been slowly invading his head throughout the years are obvious even though his hair is still dominantly brown. Although tall and on the leaner side and appears to be quite healthy, physical exertion isn’t his forte since most of his focus comes from his mind. Devan isn’t a person that usually wears outlandish clothing and is usually focused on being able to blend in with whatever setting he is in but is never found without his ring on his right middle finger with a ruby stone.

Abilities/Talents (if any):Devan is a highly skilled poet and seems to have a broad (although not always very in depth) knowledge of many different subjects. Living a life as a conman in his early life, Devan picked up a few tricks and skills especially when it comes to staying out of sight of those who are after him
History: Long before Devan took over as leader of the resistance or taking on the position of a college professor and even further back before discovering the power behind words at nineteen Devan was a completely different person. Rather, Devan Aldrich wasn’t even a person in existence. During his childhood and his young adult years the man known today as Devan was called Richard Dalton. He was a mischievous person and was often called too smart for his own good and often found himself getting in trouble when pursuing an outlandish adventure to avoid the doldrums of life. With great potential and a sharp mind, his father was often upset with him with the belief that he was wasting him life and the potential he had by not taking school, or rather anything to do within the real world seriously.
After barely graduating high school by doing the least amount possible, Richard quickly made his way out of the rural town he grew up in and made his way towards the big apple. In pursuit of anything that would catch his fancy. It would be a lie to say that Richard kept a clean life in New York as he made friends with some of the rougher parts of the city but was always carful and wise enough to stay out of the grasp of the authorities and get caught. Richard lived a life of pleasure and for the thrill of whatever life could throw at him but his biggest thrill came when he came across a poet for the first time and instantly fell in love with the idea of becoming a poet as well.
His first few attempts of trying out his newfound passion was unsuccessful and after countless times of failure his mentor broke the news and told him that he didn’t have what it took to become a poet. However being a man very set and determined, Richard didn’t give up and spend two years solely devoted on the art of poetry, leaving his past activities behind. Even though he was never fond of school, in pursuit of wanting to learn more about poetry, Richard took on a few college classes and at the age of twenty one was well on his way of becoming quite proficient at his newfound passion. However the meager knowledge he learned during the few college classes didn’t quench his newfound interest of learning and expanding his knowledge. His impulsive ways of life in enjoying the short-lived excitement he could find was starting to change as he discovered the empowerment he was able to gain both with the art of poetry and his ingenious mind.
As the years went by, Richard continued school and gained a doctorate degree and took on the position of teaching literature. Although he was quite proficient with his abilities and was working on improving it on a daily basis, he could never find the sort of fulfillment in his life that would satisfy him but things started to change as he heard news about a small group of poets that met on a frequent basis. At this point of time, this group wasn’t a sort of resistance as seen today led by Devan and was a peaceful group and although none of them knew it at the time, they were forming the very foundation of the resistance seen today. Feel free guys to play out any injury your character might get (which probably will happen at a point for every character) but just as a warning even though both groups have doctors, there won't be any sudden healing (that is not until Izkripp's character grows stronger).

Alright, the IC has started and it is getting close time to recruit more members. I am currently looking for one person to join. If I get more interest, I am more than willing to put you on the waitlist and add you in at a later time in which I feel that the roleplay can handle more people.
Quick Summary:
-This is the first roleplay for a three part series
-Our characters are going to be a group of average people find themselves intertwined between two opposing forces with superpower like abilities
-Throughout the first part of the roleplay, the main objectives for the characters to accomplish is to learn how to control their newfound abilities and to dig deeper into the history between the two groups
- The setting is in modern times with a slight futuristic edge on weapons and technology within the two opposing forces
Brief History:
2001. It was a year that changed everything but not in the way most people think. Unlike the news of the Twin Towers falling, the happenings of the Sierra Project was kept a secret. A small team of scientist under the watchful eyes of the U.S. Military went out to find a way to enhance human performance to prepare themselves for the future. However, instead of finding enhancements that could allow a person to grow physically stronger than normal or allow a person to be able to survive harsher terrains longer than normal, they created something much more than they could ever dream of. A serum that could give inhuman abilities to about a quarter of the people given either by injection or inhalation of the gas produced.
After the original group (nicknamed Generation Alpha) were tested on and the serum was found to be perfected, the Sierra Project moved to phase two with the introduction of Team Bravo in 2004. A group of ten were chosen to accomplish tasks deemed impossible by normal humans. However, things didn’t go as everyone expected as Gen. (generation) Bravo was decommissioned and the Sierra Project was shut down in 2008.
Now it is 2014. Saturday, May 3rd to be exact and a few people that previously worked on the Sierra Project are becoming restless. One of the scientist was planning something and was delivering three vials of the serum in New York City. However, plans fell through as a minor car accident happened while riding the bus, breaking one of the vials during this process. Thus releasing a gas throughout the bus and unknowingly affecting a quarter of the people on the bus. Burger flipping teens, a first year middle school teacher, a recently divorced alcoholic, a tourist from Canada; just a group of average, everyday people who are soon going to be thrusted into a situation they would have never seen themselves in.
Welcome to the rebirth of the Sierra Project, Gen. Charlie.
Rules and guidelines:
-Follow the Fundamental Rules of the Guild and Casual Standards. Seriously, read them if you haven’t because I will harp on you if you don’t follow them. Especially the Fonz part and rule five.
-Play fair. Seriously, no one wants to write with the metagamming Mary Sue or the invincible godmodder. With the way this roleplay is going to work, our characters are purposely going to be weak and without knowledge of what is going on.
-I’m not too much of a stickler when it comes to post but please use common sense. If you know spelling or grammar is not your strong point (which it isn’t for me) use a spell/grammar checker before posting. Running low on time so you're just going to throw a random, half hearted post to fill your quota? Don’t do it. If it’s going to take a bit long than you though, not a problem. No matter if you are just coming into Casual and barely reaching the minimums or writing paragraph after paragraph of Advanced level work, I want your post to be a good representation of what you can do.
-Have any suggestions or ideas, please tell me! Although I’m the GM, I’d love to have feedback and help creating this story.
