The magierprinz's nose was filled with various pleasant aromas as the demon approached and his vision and thoughts were slightly distorted as the woman mentioned the effects, although his well-trained mind managed to shake the manipulation off. However the next magical effect was far, far more lethal.

Swen's spell was out as soon as the demoness made her move, dispelling the majority of the red energy's substance as it faded away to nothingness. It was a quick reaction that showed that the man had learned speed since his previous encounter, along with the patience and practice of a third year student.

The remaining portion of the spell was still immense however, and the surprised student gasped as the library floor slammed into him, the man crumpling to the ground with a scream as several loud snaps and crunches were heard. At least one rib, his left forearm, ... maybe a bone in his leg? He wasn't exactly sure, but the pain was overwhelming and his attempt for a counterattack failed to manifest in any significant manner, only a small puff of wind leaving his hands.

He tried to be brave, but at this point he was fairly certain he was going to die.

The kitten nodded, simply resting her head against the larger familiar. To be fair, she had just woken up from a rather pleasant sleep ... but the company of Lady Sorcha was probably bad to deny.

And besides, what was she going to do now? She'd surely collect some things from her Lady's room ... but it was made abundantly clear that she was at least kicked out for now. She'd need to remove her possessions and put the place in order for her owner ... Lady Gwynn ... when she returned.

If she returned.
And if she was even wanted back by then.

The dragoness would likely feel tears run down her skin as the cat let out another round of emotions, although she tried to remain mostly silent as she enjoyed the comfort provided by Lady Sorcha's benevolent wings. Maoin pulled herself closer, using the powerful creature as her only support while her soul felt like it had been torn apart.
The gigantic beast seemed to turn it's head about, scanning the area as if searching for something. It's head craned towards the spot where the woman was hiding, as if knowing she was there. In an extremely rapid movement, it's beak crashed into the ground directly in front of Charlotte, burying into it as if a drill.

After shaking for a moment, the beak had a newly deceased rabbit struggling helplessly on it's point for a few seconds in life's final struggle before it expired. Withdrawing it's head towards the sky, the bird began to fly with it's prey hanging on the end of it's spear. Whether it hadn't noticed the black haired woman or simply wasn't interested in eating her would remain a mystery.

If the woman bothered to look for a feather, she would see a single large one inserted between two branches high above her - it would be quite the climb.

The magierprinz found himself taking a step away from the Demon Lord as she bowed, trying to control himself. Not that there was any sensible point in backing away - the woman would likely just teleport behind him once more if she wanted to get close.

And he probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

But there was one thing he might be able to do, which was upright deny any sort of trade with this woman. There was no way this could possibly end well for him, and so long as that book was his the magierprinz was fairly certain of his victory.

"I need no blessing from you, only the knowledge of that work. I have no interest in selling my soul to a lord of sin." The heir was truthfully surprised at how steady his voice remained, because internally he was hoping she wouldn't notice him backing towards the door out.

Some hope filled the kitten's eyes as the dragoness offered to speak to the headmistress on her behalf. Sure, it was easy to deny a kitty, but a grand dragon? Even the headmistress would respect her words! Lady Sorcha would find herself hugged tightly by the kitten, who seemed somewhat relieved. "Please Lady Sorcha!" The kitten's words seemed a little excited, almost like a child was told that they would be getting a new toy.

Of course, the entire day had been terrible for her but this little beacon of light returned a resemblance of the kitten's energy, ears twitched under Sorcha's nose as she was embraced. Soon though, the girl let out a small yawn, leaning her head against the dragoness. "... thank you ..." She wasn't falling asleep, but a yawn made it clear the emotional strain of the past hour was getting to her.

The phoenix looked up at Livia, tilting her head slightly. The lake? What were they supposed to do there, take baths? Didn't they already have a bath house? And didn't the headmistress say she preferred it in private?

It was rather obvious Fia was confused, but she remained silent as she waited for the group to leave.
Oops
Charlotte as she started taking a break would hear an eerie and loud screech from over the forest, echoing through the local area. Following a few seconds later, the sound of flapping wings dominated the landscape as a incomprehensibly large bird landed with each of it's talon's wrapped around rather large trees, shaking them to their roots. Another scream echoed through the landscape as the beast's head shifted to where the black haired woman was, the green eyes scanning the area and the blue feathers ruffling as it examined the landscape.

Her daughter, a devil, what was-

Eith's warning had apparently fallen into the extremely literal category. The voices moved around him by some unknown magic, the woman shifting spaces or illusions as he tried to find her once more. Eventually she simply reappeared on a bookshelf not too far away from him.

"Your daughter has chosen to get friendly with me, I assure you I was dragged into my condition with her." It wasn't a lie at all - in fact he had to pry himself away from the sleeping ... demon that morning.

Had this person appeared disguised before him previously? Had something changed? Truthfully, he was starting to feel fear flow into his veins. Was the monster here to claim his soul? Make a trade? "No deal between us needs to involve any amount of familiarity ... have you come here to curse me? To make a trade?" Swen forced his voice to be deep in order to give the impression of strength.

Hopefully she'd run off. The book was on the bottom of his concern list at the moment.

Of course her master wasn't a bad person! It just was painful to think there wasn't at least a conversation about it, or even any warning. She didn't want to harm her lady by showing her distress in front of her ... but on the other hand, it seemed a little unfair. The emptiness inside of her was unfathomable, and the kitten was waiting for whatever void was left there to be filled once more.

Listening to the rest of the dragon's cautious words though, the kitten nodded in response. It would be very foolish to try and find her 'in her current state'. Right now all she could do were pointless tasks, and some intrigue. Her abilities with a sword were the definition of incompetent.

Even if she did find her owner though, how was she supposed to? "... I don't even have a lead on her though, and Livia isn't willing to tell me where she went ..."

The crimson haired girl looked up to the headmistress, eyes going a little wide. Fun? The three of them? Sure it looked a lot better than her times with her prior master, but she didn't have practice or experience or anything like that. Fia was obviously looking around nervously as thoughts ran through her mind. "So ... the office?"

The magierprinz's eyes shuffled through various tomes on the east, and reference books led him to a few generous sources: a few pages about their religion, the local geography, and even a book on the beast itself.

Walking up to the shelf with an almost giddy feeling, he reached his hand out to where the book should have been, but frowned instead. Had it been misplaced? A quick survey of the entire bookshelf suggested otherwise, with Swen searching for his tome. And besides, his sense of this area was that these shelves were far better organized than anything else.

What was going on?

A quick search of the library with his eyes revealed a figure on the balcony right above. And of course, the book he needed was in his capable hands. But ... was she some sort of familiar? "It appears you have the study I require. Your timing is impeccable if you intended to rid me of this knowledge, however."

This was far too unlikely to merely be chance. The man placed a single hand casually on his grimore, ready in case things went south.

The kitten listened to the dragon, sitting down on the shore with still watering eyes. Perhaps ... this really was better for her though? The very thought of that though made her sick. That meant that all she had ever been was a failure that had gotten in her way. And besides, the woman couldn't even remember to bring along a change of clothes.

Maoin's face became overrun with a face of frustration though, pulling slightly on her ears with her hands. Maybe it would be better for them to walk away from eachother for a bit ... but forever? That ... it was simply hard to conceive of living a happy life without her ladies presence. Yes, she had Tazia and Sorcha. But ... the noblewoman was a constant force no matter how irritating she could be.

"I ... I don't feel it's the same, Lady Sorcha. I was literally created to serve Lady Gwynn. Anyone else just wouldn't be Lady Gwynn. You were something before Merlin and Arthur, so you could be something afterwards. Her getting rid of me means that I failed her, and failed my own purpose." Maoin didn't want to sound melodramatic, but it was true, wasn't it? That's what Livia had said at least.

The kitten's thigh pressed into an uncomfortable rock as she sat, and soon the shard of stone was tossed into the lake as the girl gave off a sigh. "And besides, who would want me? Any mage has the pick of adorable, defenseless, innocent familiars to pick off the streets. If they were smart, they would find a cute dog or something that clearly wasn't a failure in the first place. What am I supposed to do? Say 'hey, I have this pointless ability to make people look very nice'?" The cat's ears lowered, the slow movement of her tail coming to a halt. "Well ... even if they wanted me, how would I be able to trust them not to just abandon me in the night as well?" The black haired girl's dark eyes seemed to lose some of their life, as if she had given up.

After a few seconds though, a look of hope ran across her face. "... if I don't at least try to resume my position, then what does that say of my loyalty to her? She needs me too, she can't face any of her problems, and can't even talk about anything." Some anger ran across her face as well after a few seconds, another rock being thrown into the lake with a degree of violence before her head turned right and her eyes gazed into the ground. "I want to be a stray at least worthy of a goodbye."

Then she broke down into tears again as emotions swirled through her head, but her ears twitched towards Sorcha in case she had anything more to say.

The phoenix found herself panting after running a few hundred feet, only to see the headmistress wonder back into the mansion. Feeling a little silly for leaving just before the woman arrived, the crimson haired girl walked carefully back towards the house, slipping in behind Livia and hid behind her dress, placing the powerful woman between herself and the unholy woman she was speaking to.

The kitten's eyes widened slightly as the dragoness didn't respond at first, instead putting her under a literal wing and resting with her for a few moments in a comforting manner. She cried. A lot. After a few minutes of resting though, the dragoness gave her a slight bump on the head before engaging a more serious conversation.

Find ... a new master? No other master could create her again, or share the depth of experiences with her that her owner had from spending a year around her. She hadn't had another person hit her, kiss her, and rely on her like her lady. There hadn't been another person who she built ice castles with on a frozen lake, played with on tired days, or ... solve their differences with.

And she didn't love anyone else. Gwynn obviously wasn't obligated to love her back, but wouldn't it be wrong to find another master while she had feelings for another, feelings that surely wouldn't go away? Outside of love, their was still the loyalty she felt towards the very woman who had left without saying goodbye. No matter how frustrated with this entire fiasco, she couldn't be angry with her for any length of time.

Even if she did manage to find someone else that she liked, why would they rather pick a stray up off the street when they could instead summon their own cat, or go after something powerful like a dragon? Lady Sorcha despite all her wisdom would never understand the experience of being weak or unwanted. People would die to claim her as their own.

The kitten's eyes looked upwards towards the dragoness as she requested help, using one of her arms to wipe the tears from her face. "... Yes, Lady Sorcha ..." Maoin's demeanor about the entire conversation could be considered a combination between doubt and frustration.

Soon enough, the dragoness' armor was removed, and the kitten helped her over to the lake where she stopped at the edge. The scream for her to preserve her life was still there ... it just wasn't as loud. "... do you regret ... not going after them ...?"

The entire tree fiasco had left the other girl completely devastated, although Caitriona was starting to wonder what her plans were ... was she trying to build a settlement, like one of those hags from fairy tales? Looking to the sky, the native wondered how to explain that was a horrible idea. Maybe she was simply trying to build ... a bondfire? So someone could find her?

That night seemed like it would get cold though, so the native decided to get a bit closer to the other woman, who was obviously a little taken aback by the entire situation in a way that could be described as adorable. Soon after the other woman seemed to enter the realm of dreams, her own eyes forced themselves closed.

"Owwww." The native moaned as she felt herself wake up by the ever so gentle shove-the-person method of getting up. Rubbing her eyes and adjusting to the light outside the cave, the girl yawned slightly as she watched the other woman work. Eventually she pulled out her flute, as if making some sort of war hymn for the other girl to work with as she did whatever she was supposed to do.

Eventually Caitriona was bored with merely entertaining though and poked the other girl on the shoulder and looked her in the eyes. "Fan anseo, dul isteach ar an uaimh má léiríonn rud éigin ar bun!" The girl's smallish hands pointed first to the ground and then to the cave.

Hopefully that got the message across. Either way she needed to do something on her own eventually, quickly grabbing her backpack and the rest of her supplies before looking at the other woman. "Beidh mé ar ais in aghaidh an lae." If Charlotte didn't have anything to say ... or rather, interpretively dance about, then the native would set off back towards her tribe with a slight frown on her face.
@AtomicNut Hey man, I was halfway expecting her to 'actually' hit him, so that's good.
