As Shujiko pondered the origin of the mysterious text box, she noticed something unusual about her running. Mainly that she was no longer running, but falling for some reason. It took a moment to register, but when it finally did, she let out a frightened shriek. And promptly hit the ground with a dull thud. And a delayed groan of pain.
"...Wha...?" Shujiko slowly rose to her knees, shaking slightly from the shock. The strange text had been replaced, now saying things about a tutorial quest... and new skills?

[Maou's Mind]? [Maou's Body]? What was all that supposed to mean? New skills? But... She still didn't know what a maou was! her mind and body hadn't changed, right? Why couldn't the disembodied words floating in her vision make more sense?

Speaking of sense, where was she, anyway? This didn't look anything like home.

There were others in the area, too. Apparently having the same problem as herself. Well, except that one girl whose face was buried in another's chest...

Realising she was staring rather intently, the flushed teenager quickly ripped her gaze away from the pair, and instead focused on the rest of the group. What were you supposed to say in this situation?

"...hi there?" Shujiko said in the most cheerful voice she could muster at the moment.
"...Fair enough," Akemi sighed, satisfied that he at least had a rudimentary grasp on English. Still, that was only one subject out of many, she had to test him for every single class! If this guy failed, it would surely be her own fault for not thoroughly examining the depth of his knowledge!
Just as she was about to through random equations at him, however, something clicked in her mind. Reaching into her pocket, the president looked at the time displayed on her mobile phone, eyes widening in horror.
"I've wasted this much time?!" she gasped with all the emotional intensity of someone learning their beloved pet had died, "I-I could have studied! Gah, this is bad, my schedule's ruined..."
Midori and Akemi are going to have the strangest conversation on Monday.

"AKEMI-SEMPAI I FOUGHT MYSELF AND ACCEPTED THE TRUTH AND BEAUTY OF DESTINY AND PERSONA"

"...Sounds to me like you've been neglecting homework again."
Shujiko in Shujiland. Or something.

Her breathing was still light and controlled, even after running 600 meters through the town. Sure, the relaxed pace helped a bit with that, but the energetic girl could easily run much longer than this, if she needed too, and certainly quite a bit faster. Of course, for a leisurely jog, there was no point to that. Might as well conserve her energy for the real run later today. Besides, she had some shoujo manga to pick up!

And while Shujiko wondered how the totally platonic relationship of the female leads would develop into something even more platonic, she noticed something... strange about her vision. There was a lot more text than usual blocking her sight. With a slight tilt of her head, Shujiko read the words appearing before her, continuing to jog, undaunted.

Maou? That was... what was that, again? Sounded weird, but oddly exciting. The word ignited a sense of passion and awesomeness that called out to her, begging the teenager to accept the strange question and become... whatever a maou was!

"...Sure thing!" Shujiko accepted the text's offer. Then curiously tried waving her hand over the 'y' prompt, just in case the words didn't have a voice command app.

...Wait a minute, why is there floating words in my eyes?!
Akemi faltered, surprised that someone would interrupt such an important speech. Who wouldn't want to know how to ensure a better future?! This boy was coming across like an arrogant idiot! As if someone like him would know anything from his lessons!

With a smile of amusement, Akemi said, "...If that's so, what am I saying?" Speaking in English with an obvious accent. Considering how much she knew of the language by the time she'd entered high school, clearly everyone else had to be at least that level! Should he not know what she'd said, Akemi could take that as infallible proof that he knew nothing about anything, and thus, needed her help to succeed!

It was the only logical conclusion, after all.
And bio finished.
WIP.

  • Name: Shujiko Ishi

  • Age: 16

  • Gender: Female

  • Appearance: "My best is the minimum amount of effort I'll give anything!"

  • Personality: A cheerful girl that always gives it her all, Shujiko is quite friendly, somewhat silly and surprisingly easy to fluster. Never willing to admit defeat in anything, she will give it her all in every attempt, never faltering despite what odds may be against her. Because of this, she can be a tad stubborn, sometimes.
Thanks to her cheerful demeanor and will to succeed, it's almost impossible to see Shujiko upset over anything. She's far more likely to be proving the cheer and motivation needed to overcome any obstacle... but is easily defeated by embarrassing things. One lewd comment is enough to send her into a blustering ramble denying claims that may or may not have been made about her, and instead tend to only dig her into a deeper hole.

  • History: Just a normal girl with a normal upbringing. At a young age, Shujiko found that she liked being active, and participated in a wide variety of sports. Wile not truly excelling at most, she eventually stuck with sprints, practising diligently from a young age.

  • Skills: Shujiko's only real talent seems to be her athleticism, holding the record for various Sprinting events at her school, which also means her stamina is rather high, too.

  • Maou Arts:
[Hot-Blood] - A skill that ensures Shujiko tackles everything with all the burning passion of a supernova.
[Determinator] - No matter what, Shujiko will not give in!
[Sprinter] - Capable of running at, like, pretty awesome speeds with little start-up.
  • All of Midori's suggestions are probably sent through directly from any council member to the nearest shredder, by this point. Poor Midori's suggestions.

"Let's make it the Akemi-sempai club!""... Only I'm allowed to join."

I get the feeling Akemi's had to reject this club idea far too many times.
"Considering I've had to go against my principles just to make this club a thing, our theme for the festival is Work Experience. No arguments."
