Alice

Alice raised an eyebrow, not expecting this kind of reaction at all from the little girl. Shouldn't be more pants-wetting fear, or gibberish screams? She seemed all set to do that just a minute ago.

...Well. whatever.

"...Alice," the doll supplied her name, "well, if you know what I am, then that simplifies things. I want you to help me with the extermination of the Puppeteers. In return, I will act as your shield. No fluff, no contracts, just that."
Asking such a thing from this little girl didn't sit entirely well with Alice, but... if she knew about Dolls, it made things much easier for them both. Plus, Alice had no desire to let any danger befall anyone she would have partnered with. She had plenty of faith in her ability to protect this girl, but...

Alice folded her arms, "Additionally, I would suggest that you don't try and befriend me or whatever. That won't end well for either of us, so use me only as a shield and nothing more, please."
Ada

Arms shaking wildly with fear, Ada watched, wide-eyed, as the strange little girl unloaded a volley of explosive shots onto the older woman. That... that couldn't be possible, could it? What kind of gun could shoot like that?! That girl... oh no, she'd turned her attention to Ada now. Yeah, no way the knife would help at all.
The scary girl, calling herself 'Dead Heart Shooter', was approaching and speaking, but Ada could barely comprehend the words. She took a step back, ready to make a dash towards... somewhere that wasn't here. Somewhere that didn't have all this frightening madness.

But the woman that Dead Heart Shooter had blasted... she was still alive? And... and her arm, it was now a giant blade. She... she wan't human, either. Ada fell to her knees, overwhelmed by how... alien this situation was. She had never heard of anything like these people. Unless they were monsters. Yeah, monsters made sense. She was just being attacked by monsters. Of course.
Hm... from what I can tell, they shouldn't have enough speed to shut down everyone's decks, so it should be fine.
There's nothing wrong with Pendulums. Not at the moment, anyway. The ones we know about aren't that strong, and since Van is going to make sure his custom Pendulum's are balanced, I see no problem with allowing them.

That is literally a Madolche Deck... I have a bad history with Madolche, due to a regular at my local Games Shop running them and berrating everyone that doesn't ONLY play the meta-game.So, I have a bit of a biased view on them... But I can't bring myself to hate that deck. Go for it.

Meh, don't let dumbasses like that get to you. People have tried to tell me to stop playing HEROs because they're popular.

Which reminds me, Elemental HEROs now have a Stratos replacement that also doubles as Masked HERO support. Also, another Masked HERO support card. And at some point, a new Masked HERO, as well as... Chaos HERO Chaos. It's a good time to be a HERO fan.
Let's see... the only problem card there (Hootcake) has been rendered... well, not really problematic due to the lack of Rank 3's to absolutely break the deck. And since it's all exclusively Madolche... not even the hand advantage should really be a problem in the long run. I think it's fine.
Well, for now, you probably don't really need the Synchros. The Ghostrick Xyz's are all pretty damn good, especially since Alucard and Dullahan can recycle Ghostrick cards.
Watching the feeble little leech of a lifeform struggle desperately in her grasp only brought a cold, cruel smile to the doll's lips. She wasn't one to normally indulge in other's suffering, but... honestly, these things deserved it. They were sickening, unwelcome, and loathsome in every way. Just evil little monsters that had to be eliminated.

"It'll be over in a moment," Alice stated, whether to the Puppeteer or to Cynthia was unclear. With an almost casual attitude, Alice raised her arm, then slammed the Puppeteer into the ground with as much force as she could muster, her left foot enveloping itself in a shiny, nigh-indestructible substance as she did so.
Raising said foot, Alice shot the creature one more, loathsome glare, before slamming her diamond-encased limb onto the thing's head.

With the monster eliminated, Alice's foot returned to normal as she turned to look at the girl. She was probably much too young to be getting involved in this kind of thing, but... well, she was involved now.
The Doll took a few steps towards Cynthia, pausing suddenly. It occurred to Alice to drawing too near after such a scene was liable to freak her out even more, and that would just be irritating. Let's see, how to properly explain this in a calm, easy-to-understand manner...

"I'm a Doll, I came here to assist you," Alice spoke in an almost disinterested manner. She made no effort to hide old injury, "that thing wasn't human. If you want to survive future encounters with their kind, you'd best accept my help."

Totally fully explained.
A voice broke through Ada's dozing state, leaving her momentarily confused. Blinking her eyes open, she realised that she was still outside... someone was talking to her...

...And they had a knife pressed against her body.

Frozen with shock and fear, Ada's eyes darted towards the woman speaking, She was saying strange things, but... in the end, all she wanted was money, right? Jewelry, too... well, in her current situation, she could hardly refuse and call for help. Shaking her head would only lead to that knife getting far too intimate with her heart. All Ada could do was agree and hope for the best. Silently and shakily, Ada nodded her head, reaching for her purse.

And then someone appeared and threw the mugger away.

Dazed, confused and still quite scared, Ada watched blankly as a strange girl referring to someone (her?) as 'master'... then pulling out a ton of weapons out of nowhere and attacking the dangerous woman... it was quite overwhelming. Nothing made sense any more. Why didn't she go home when she really should have?
After the strange girl smiled at her, Ada crawled towards the discarded knife. Compared to... all the stuff that little girl was carrying, it wasn't going to even register as a threat, but hey, it gave her something to swing around and keep the two at bay. Why did these people have to target her?! What did they want? Why all the fighting?!

Ummm... After a quick google search, Which is another problem that comes with this. The Opposite of what I was getting at.Some people like to use meta archetypes in non-meta ways, I realize that Ghostricks are adorable and Evilswarms look rather nice, the problem is that they are designed to be played in only a small number of ways, and all of which are competitive, and that's nobodies fault (Except Bandai's) as they are not built for you to have fun with, they are built so that Kazunori Ueno can commission another Solid Gold yacht for his swimming pool. I hate to sound like a douche who came here to crap all over everyones fun, but Zagan, you are running a competitive deck...

But Ghostricks are fun to use. If someone was able to make them competitively viable, then good for them, but that's not the context that should be used here.

The only solution I can see to this issue so far is either limiting or simply excluding Extra Deck monsters. It's usually monsters here that have annoying and easily exploited effects, and are what have contributed a lot to the metagame structures as of late. I for one don't even use my Extra Deck that often, but I'm not sure how willing others would be to ignore it considering sometimes the monsters here are the centerpoint of their decks.

This, I agree with. I think I mentioned before, but a concern of mine is how robust people tend to make their Extra Decks. It's one thing to choose 15 thematically appropriate cards, but a full Extra Deck obviously designed to be a toolbox to defuse literally any situation, cheapens the suspense of anything. Especially when it leaves no room to actually improve the deck.

The Ghostrick Main Deck itself is fine, for example, it's the Extra Deck that would be a potential problem, but I'm trusting the player to not abuse the Extra Deck in such a way that they cannot be beaten.
...No one's running a competitive deck here at all. Look at the decklists. Using blatantly overpowered and competitive decks is not allowed.

Use whatever HERO deck you want, you're not going to automatically lose.
From beneath the rim of her straw hat. Shana was grinning maniacally with excitement, gleefully anticipating the upcoming tournament. There as gonna be so many new opponents! So many new decks! Flikkar had to be excited about this, too! For a tiny flame, that little guy sure loved to duel!

She frowned slightly at the mention of a glitch messing things up, but they seemed to be on top of that. Official matches shouldn't be delayed too long, hopefully. Once the speech was over, the red-headed avatar of boundless energy quickly made her way into the stadium, marveling at the prospective opponents around her.
She was well aware of her chances of failing. She wanted to duel as many people as possible, but winning everything was something she could recognise as being far too unrealistic Regardless, that shouldn't get in the way of enjoyment. Duel Monsters was a game, after all, and the most important thing about it was that you simply had to have fun!

Shana reached into her pouch, where her deck was located, and drew.the top card, looking at Flikkar with an excited grin, "So, little buddy," she whispered, "Whaddaya say we put on an epic show and go down blazing, huh?"
